  1. Being in trouble hasn't stopped Andy Carroll from scoring though.
  2. The muppets wouldn't go, in South Africa when they moaned about being bored the Engaland management laid on a choice of events; a trip to Robin Island, a trip shopping or a pool competition. Some went shopping, most stayed for the pool and 1 went to Robin Island. The First World War was a tragedy where good men were sent to die, a tragedy we sadly havn't learnt from. Nevermind sending footballers to The Somme, all they do is try and entertain us and bring us some joy, every politician should go there are understand the gravity of their decisions. My thoughts are with every dead solider and their family. Footballers wages are rediculous and we as fans should do something about it but your anger should be directed at those in power that think war is the answer.
  3. If only the football League when forming the Second Division had the balls to invite Southampton to join, we would now be a club of Arsenal size a success. If only I wasn't chasing a bird I would have watched Tim flowers go loppy when we beat Man U on penalties.
  4. There's plenty of space there to do something.
  5. There are no different agendas in Southampton, there are personalities that some don't like; so what, people are allowed their opinion on people and it doesn't mean that we wouldn't have rallied around a new club. However new clubs are only formed when the original club is taken away, whether its by franchising Wimbledon, disenfranchising MU fans or clubs that have gone completely pop. We were never going to have our club taken away and we were never going to go completely pop, if we had gone bust we would have started up as a continuation of the club in the Blue Square in the forthcoming season. If RL bought us when we were in admin I would have hated it and I would have understood it if people were moved to form another club but as the original Southampton would still be alive I would have found it difficult to change allegiances. I appreciate someone moving to the area coming to watch us but I find it a bit irritating that someone who has been here five minutes has an opinion on something that they really can't know that much about.
  6. Its a shame that this game is on Boxing Day as its great in the away end at Charlton when its full, the place really rocks. I work in Dartford with quite a few Charlton fans and they think their away end is a disadvantage to them as its so loud it always lifts the away team. So I fear the lack of trains will affect the away attendance, we should really be playing Bournemouth on Boxing Day.
  7. The last time I looked at the fixture list we were playing Charlton on the 26th December in England, therefore it is Boxing Day. We went through all this last year and to my shame I find people saying otherwise f##king irritating.
  8. I would be happy to stick with the sash for a few seasons. We broke the stripes run back in the eighties and didn't wear them for many years, also they are hardly unique like the sash is.
  9. David Andrews
  10. I think Case is the winner, a mere £30k from Brighton. Lets hope we can take the **** out of them again this season.
  11. Whilst the score line is great and the individual performances were in the main good there were periods when we were dross, pushing it long and looking a bit clueless. We need to knock this out of our game to claim the top spot. NA knows we are not the finished article yet, lets hope he can further improve us.
  12. It's an Adult Literacy Unit that does stirling work for the local commnity by enabling people to write to loved ones in prison and fill out benefit forms unaided.
  13. Are you guys for real, hoofing the ball is never acceptable in professional football, other than a backs to the wall defensive hoof, but never as part of build up play. Fans demanding a hoof is one of the structural problems in English football. The skill of the slow build up is to not pass too flatly all the time and to turn on the ball and move from the defensive third to the middle third and to then on to the attacking third. I went to Charlton yesterday and watched Brighton expertly play this way and guess what, they won four nil and are top of the league. Not a hoof in sight. Poyet was on the radio afterwards saying that it took the Brighton fans a little while to understand. Watching the game yesterday, with Brighton passing it about whilst Charlton were knocking it long was like watching old high jumpers when D*ck did his first Fosbury flop. So as fans we should allow this style to develop otherwise we will be left behind.
  14. Because they always play at home in lovely warm weather in Brazil. For what its worth he reminds me of a butch black Lienal Blair.
  15. This is only one aspect of football culture, like it or not football is a very broad church and belongs to more groups than the one you mention above and each of the groups has a ligitimate claim to have influenced the cultural history of our fine game, it doesn't belong to one group exclusively. Revel in the parts you enjoy and leave the parts that others enjoy alone.
  16. This is comedy gold.
  17. Indeed, it's a of bit light hearted banter.
  18. I'm waiting for the silk paisly's to come back in and the denim dungarees
  19. That's a good story, Sam Hammam did the same to a friend of my mates, he was a Wimbledon fan and Sam phoned him at work to talk about a possible move away from Merton.
  20. The relagation clause was one of his many mistakes, it disbanded the team too quickly and lost us that first year to get back up, we then had to make the decision to gamble in the second year (the right decision in my opinion). If he had kept the team together more and kept the motivation higher of those left behind we might have got straight back up. As ever he was protecting the share price and the dividends. He was a parasitic ****. He had to build the academy under prem rules. The one thing he did good for SFC was to persuade Friends Provident to allow us to call the ground St Marys with out reducing the sponsorship.
  21. Sometimes we need a little reminder why we burdened ourselves with supporting the Saints
  22. I took a bird once to the Dell, living out of the area I didn't get to the Dell much, MLT ran towards where we were standing and I said a lot of people think I look like MLT and just as I finished saying it everyone started chanting 'ugly, ugly, ugly'. I didn't see much of her after that. I now look like a fat MLT whose had a nose job and my wife says she's an Arsenal fan but doesn't know her Arsenal from her elbow and I like it that way.
  23. Condolences Daren, I hope the Saints soon give you something so you can look skyward and give your mum a knowing smile.
  24. I would like to see Balti pies, Stella on tap and drinking in the stands.
  25. Will we stay up.
