Virgin Atlantic 747 prepares for emergency landing at Gatwick

Im fairly tall and when sat in economy, due to lack off space, Im pretty sure the brace position they tell you to adopt (ie leaning forward with your head rammed against the seat in front with your hands on top of your head) would result in pretty severe neck damage if there was a real sudden stop from speed. Much better to put your forearms on the seat in front and rest your head in them imo. -
Aren't they vegetarian?

Do they count season ticket holders whether they show up or not? My suspicion is that we have more holders who pick and choose their games in the PL than Championship and Lg1.

The Royal Free has the UK's only high level isolation unit. What do you expect them to do with ebola cases? stick them on a Glasgow orthopaedics ward saying "dont worry, we'll give you a face mask?"

Check out Solden - good nightlife, not so expensive as France, close to airport at Innsbruck and a good amount of easy runs for beginners on guaranteed snow (two glaciers). They were filming the new James Bond film there just before Christmas. Personally, unless you live close, Id miss out the dry ski slope in MK and put the money saved to lessons in the resort. Also dont underestimate how much its going to cost you on top of the hotel / flight - at least £900pw (£250 for jacket / salopettes / gloves etc; £200 each for lift pass, lessons and ski / boot rental) .

We shouldnt sign anyone in case they turn out to be crap -especially highly rated teenagers who we could get for nothing.

DFDS have just released their schedule for 2015. You can get a return crossing in August for a car with three people from £78 amazingly enough (leaving at 17.00 Friday 14th August and coming back at 1am on 28th August. £160 if you take cabins. http://www.dfdsseaways.co.uk/ferry-routes/ferry-to-france/newhaven-dieppe/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=973598&utm_campaign=UK_WC_ND_20141226_BookEarlyfor2015&gbi=a0b6423e-e2a99d80-2307d420 -
My point was that winter tyres are mandatory in those countries - ie all cars are equipped between November and April and not caught out by sudden snow falls or by driving frrom a dry area to a snowy area. France and Italy only stipulate carrying snow chains in certain areas when the weather is bad. They are such a pain to get on and off many people dont bother to use them until its too late and they are stuck / slid off the road.

Ive no idea if this applies to ski-ing or not but when motorcycle helmets were made compulsory the number of deaths dropped slightly but the number of severe brain damage injuries rose. Im not sure thats necessarily a good trade off (and I wear helmets for both).

Clyne got a deep cut on the front of his foot. I agree with you about ****s who arrive late and leave early, its selfish. Why should 20 people have to stand up and miss often key parts of the game because one or two think missing the traffic is more important.

Being a bat seems more fun than I imagined.

All having 4x4 does is give you the traction to get moving on slippery roads which your tyres dont have the grip to stop you again. On mountain roads a 4x4 with summer tyres is lethal. The important thing is to have good snow or winter tyres. They are mandatory in Austria and Germany but not in France or Italy - which is part the reason we went to Obergurgl this year rather than Cervinia. The prospect of driving a Turin hire car on summer tyres at 2500m in December wasnt that attractive.

What contributions? You've commuted for 20 odd years - you owe us all a fortune in subsidies. That distribution of our cash to you is what you're railing against.

Not that simple. A good balanced article here. http://www.economist.com/news/briefing/21567914-how-britain-could-fall-out-european-union-and-what-it-would-mean-making-break

Eljero Elia - Confirmed 6 Month Loan

Arguably RL - not attitude per se but too keen on the booze and going out in his early days. I know what you mean but as a loan its a good move. -
The Germans have less of a problem with right wing 'send em home' anti immigration than the UK does. Dresden is the exception, not the rule.
