Typical Echo headline. Praises him in the sense that Wenger didnt mention Adkins at all during the whole interview?

Jack Straw was on radio 4 this morning. He was very direct - said he deeply regretted the flaws in the judical enquiry he commissioned - and that he didnt spot them at thje trime.

Dont know about Hampshire - but if you fancy a day trip to Brighton 'Terre a Terre' is exceptional, amongst the best veggie and vegan food in the country and not all that expensive either. http://www.terreaterre.co.uk/

Not having a go at you. Nothing wrong with moving to Austria. Nothing wrong with exploring a merger with EADS. Its not the world of every country being able to support 6 or 8 aircraft manufacturers anymore, and hasnt been for 65 years.
-
Ironic isnt it? Alpine has decided to move to Austria for his own money related and personal benefit reasons (nothing wrong with that btw) but goes apopletic when as British company looks at a European tie up.

Or progress, depends whether you're 16 or 46.

Uruguay are currently fifth in the FIFA world rankings and were second in June. I had no idea they had such a good team

If you could see the tv whilst on the running machine it was in front of you. You broke your record running towards an overly hairy rotten muff. Interesting.

Have seen distinguished economists discussing the reasons - lots of differing theories, but no-one seems to know. Trousers' theory seems to hold as much water as any

Some countries have a fines system related to income and ability to pay. For someone on the national average wage of c£28,000 thats about six weeks wages after tax. For someone like Guly its more like a day and a half. Not exactly equal deterrents.

There is a real paradox in that GDP is still falling but the number of people in employment is rising. Something odd, or some miscounting, going on.

Southampton (and other places in UK no-one has heard of) to get 4g.

I like Boris Johnson. Yes its a bit of schtick, but what he says is usually funny and self deprecating - and true. I dont understand mobile data too well - as I suspect most dont. Its better to be 'one of the people' than to be one of those politicians who affect to set policy and lecture professionals in specialised fields they've never worked in and were only handed the brief a few days earlier after failing to get some other portfolio they really wanted. -
They're too far away and blurred to say with any confidence, I could ony recognise maybe three players even blown up on a 22inch monitor, but cant see him.

Was working in Pennsylvania a couple of years ago and whilst on a walk by chance ended up in the field where Flight 93 crashed. Seemed so incongrous that such a violent world changing act act happened in such a nondescript place.

Southampton is to be amongst the first cities in the UK to get 4g mobile broadband. Supposedly much faster than 3g you can use it for things things watching streamed films on a train. I rarely use my 3g smartphone for internet unless there is no alternative because the connectivity, speed and experience is nowhere near what its hyped up to be. Just wondering if 4g be any different and will genuinely move things ahead. What will you guys use it for that you cant do now? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-19543042

Im always very wary of these ranking systems. The results obtained owe more to the people involved and the system / metrics used than any real fundamentals imo. This one is conducted by QS research based in London. Im sure a Boston based consultancy would have a very different global top 10. The Times has Cal-tech 1st, Harvard 2nd and Stanford 3rd (not even in QS' top 10). Do places like the Sorbonne, Munich Technical University and University of Tokyo really not even make the top 20? Its interesting that all the Asian universities which are rapidly rising up the rankings use English as a teaching medium. Is this because English is the lingua franca of academia and allows you to recruit the best gobally - or because researchers find it difficult to grade research in a language they dont speak.

Can't believe people are writing him off already. If he plays a full half and still hasn't scored, then fair enough, but until then we should give the guy a chance.
-
Still dont like it. I dont mind doing away with the stripes- but we should always have red white and black imo.

Comment after the Arabian news takeover story: Posted by: Seagull Monday, 10 September 2012 11:11 AM[uAE] - Peoples Republic Of East Sussex The fans are great. They've nearly sold all their home tickets on a number of occasions and recently the loyal hoards managed a crowd of nearly 13,000. They never, ever boo their own players, except the times when they do & they once took a whole 42 fans to Wigan in a Premier League game. Love from BHA

Because clearly there is no possible middle ground between coming second by winning lots and being relegated.....

I thought some of these posts were tongue in cheek at first, but no they are serious - and pathetic. Of course the squad are fit. Does the fact that Schneiderlin and JWP dominate the greatest distance run during a match table not tell you that? Saints got in front by working harder and pressing more. That burns up more energy and by 70 mins some of the players were clearly flagging. NA made substitutions to try to keep the pressure up. It didnt work. Boo hoo. The team have given fantastic performances against arguably the two best clubs in the country. We will lose many more matches now we are playing clubs like that than we've got used to when playing against Brentford. Get used to it.

He's from Alsace - more like beer and bratwurst.

Thats only about £20,000pw - relative peanuts for the PL.

So technically some places in the country could be beneath sea level compared with there (given the sea isnt the same height everywhere)?
