  1. Shall I take that as a 'no' then? p.s. don't forget to listen to COAST on Radio Solent tomorrow morning - playing Saints anthem 'Colours' live on the Sally Taylor show p.p.s. Oh, and they're also playing at the Swan in Woolston tomorrow night....see you there.... http://www.coastrock.co.uk (cheers for the reminder MB.... )
  2. Looking at his stats on Wiki, he hardly ever played a first team game for his previous sides (mainly loans from spurs). What suddenley made him prolific at Southend? Anyway, good signing.
  3. I thought you were describing Connelly for a moment there...hmm, interesting precedent...
  4. Robbie Fowler looking to end his career in England...CHDAJFU in this league? Double page spread in today's Daily Mail ( http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1245126/In-Gods-country-Robbie-Fowler-wizard-Oz-lost-golden-touch.html )...aged 34....playing well in Australia...grown up - no longer a disruptive influence....probably at League One level now...could be the 'talisman' we're looking for? A hark back to the halcyon days of the 80s when we signed ex-england players in the twilights of their career...?
  5. Ice rink? Sounds like a Skate wind up to me.....
  6. Me and Pards....two peas in a pod.....
  7. Indeed. Was just about to post that we have a vitally important league game away to Brentford on Tuesday so we need to rest the likes of Lambert on Saturday. Playing our best players 3 times in one week when it is still mathematically possible to reach the playoffs is foolhardy IMHO. So, Saga in, Lambert on the bench for me.
  8. Well that rules him out then Regards, Nicola Cortese
  9. Planes (Tommac), Cranes (Leibherr) and Monkey Chicken Zoos (LifeLongSaint)
  10. Would be more obviously different to 'play up pompey' if a different choice of replacement word was used rather than 'pay'. Otherwise it just sounds the same as the opposing team's supporters singing 'play up pompey' to wind us up....well, that's how it comes across on TV anyway, which I assume was the intended audience?

  12. These bookings and injuries are a blessing in disguise. Should hopefully tip the balance into convincing Cortese to go that extra mile in the negotiations for other players. Although, of course, the other teams we are bidding for players from will know that and nudge their valuations up a notch....
  13. Indeed. The main thing that got me last year (apart from the crap management and adminstration obviously...) was the lack of passion and (relatively controlled) aggression from our players.

  15. Just checked my top trumps set and daily mail beats daily echo on all categories apart from 'best cute puppy stories'

  18. It's helpful that we don't have a league game on Saturday as this gives Pardew the opportunity to play a full strength side (cup tied player excepted). If we had a league game on Saturday I trust that Pardew would rest a few of our key players as we should still be concentrating on the league 100%

  20. Erm....perhaps this is the reason for the cheap price tag.... http://www.shrimperzone.com/vb/showthread.php?t=57546 http://www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/theblues/4855588.Barnard_suffers_ankle_injury/?ref=rss
