What is in lack of balance? Looks like 4-2-3-1 to me... Forster Cedric Stephens Yoshida Bertrand Romeu Davis Boufal Tadic Redmond Gabbiadini

This bit is great on page 27...

Your claim... - Hull conceding 6 per game away from home - Hull have played 17 home league games this season - 6 x 17 = 102 away goals conceded Reality -Hull have conceded 41 away league goals this season - An average of 2.4 away goals conceded this season ............. I'm puzzled how you came up with a figure of an average of 6 per game and thought that sounded credible!

Malaga's Sandro Ramirez linked... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-eyeing-transfer-spain-u21-10311101 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chtBIy3kqm4 ................ PRE-EMPTING THIS FORUM: Can we avoid comparison to Gaston Ramirez because he has the same name, or Juanmi because he came from the same club...? Lets instead judge a player on his own merits rather than irrelevant & flawed comparison to another player. -

They are the ones using the scripture how it was meant, it is the large number of religious cherrypickers that aren't following the scripture and putting their on 21st century created moral system on it. Killing infidels & non-believers are endorsed by the Koran & The Bible. Both the Koran & Bible are horrendous books with horrendous teachings that should really be banned from publication under UK law for inciting a lot of criminal acts (homophobia, sexism, slavery, genocide and murder etc etc) -
I imagine you consider Man Utd & Spurs to have good youth track records. They are only 1 point ahead of Saints and could also both be relegated... If you were a fan of those clubs would you be making the same comments? High league placing in under 23s is nice and a reasonably good sign, but is not the most important thing. What is important is player development. Saints have a lot of players that could have been used in the under 23s in every game this season, but instead have been kept close to the first team, either actual involvement in games, matchday 18s or just training with them.

The final sentance... "It is understood there are other offers on the table, Lander is not the preferred bidder and that the club is likely to have new investors within a fortnight."

His technique is clearly extremely good and he has a lot of natural ability. What lets him down is decision making as he dwells on the ball too long or picks the wrong pass, which Puel can hopefully work on with him.

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

If Christianity wasn't cherrypicked and followed to what scripture said, then I struggle to see how it could be considered a benefit to society. The Bible endorses sexism, homophobia, racism, slavery and murder. It is cherry picking Christians that ignore all that and make up their own moral code that goes against the teachings of the Bible. What benefit can any religion give a society that couldn't be achieved by secular means? Secular charities don't require a man in the clouds to do a lot of good for the world. -

Only the Muslims & Christians who cherrypick the bits they like from the Bible and Koran and conveniently ignore they dreadful bits. If you cherrypick from the scripture you are making up your own religion and moral code. That is what pretty much every religious person does. The punishment for breaking the 10 commandments is death, that is conveniently ignored by most Christians. -
Jumping to conclusions yet again Batman? Bottom 2 go down, Saints are not in the bottom 2. Saints are 9th. On last game of season Saints have difficult game vs Man City... but Derby (who are below Saints) play Chelsea.

Why have you asked me that in responce to my post? I was asking those Dusic and richardc the questions; I don't know what Lander's intentions are or how much or little they plan to invest. Until we do... it is best to stay neutral and not get excited or write them off as a disaster for the club. Some people in this thread have been far too quick to write them off as a disaster! Best to stay neutral until more good evidence arrives about their intentions and level/type of investment!
-
What evidence do you have in regard to the size of the investment or the attractiveness of the deal from a Saints perspective? We know extremely little as to their intentions, unless you have a good source it appears you and others are jumping to conclusions to write off Lander as a bad thing. As so little is known, the best thing to do is remain on the fence until we have good evidence of what is happening and if it is a good thing or not. What evidence do you have that they are "struggling to purchase the club"? In a business negotiation, it is in the buyers interest to try and make the purchase as cheap as possible, that doesn't mean they are struggling to do the purchase.

I doubt Liverpool are keeping the Sun informed. Liverpool, Everton & Tranmere have all banned the newspaper over the Barkley incident. -
I don't enter a price for how much the players are worth into the database. The value shown uses a formula taking a huge range of things into account and isn't simply inputted. Plus if you've played the game you should know that the price listed isn't what the player would sell for, often it takes a lot more to actually buy them. What on earth are you on about!? Can you actually link to the entire post and how the flow of the conversation went? Rather than the quote and no link. I have a feeling you may have taken my words out of context and left out something afterwards. Even if that isn't the case, are you not aware that players can improve? Yoshida this season is significantly better than in any of his previous seasons.
-
This is nonsense from Koeman and no journalist picked him up on it... Stephens and Ward-Prowse both played for our academy teams and are both currently starters in the 1st team. Stephens being used ahead of 2 internationals - Caceres & Gardos. Plus Sims, McQueen, Targett & Reed are all getting a good amount of exposure around the first team training and some bench and game time.
-
You appear confused at the difference between a Premier League team buying a player from abroad and selling a player. There is significantly better value for players in the foreign market. That doesn't mean we couldn't get a high value for existing players at the club, especially if there is interest from other Premier League clubs. Being at a Premier League club inflates Yoshida's value. £15m in the Premier League for a club to club transfer is not a huge amount, a club like Bournemouth spent that on Jordan Ibe in a Prem to Prem transfer. But £15m in the European transfer market can still get you a very decent player... similar to want we paid for Gabbiadini.
-
You have significantly undervalued all of these in the 2017 transfer market. A decent season in the Championship sees players sell for £15m. All of those apart from Yoshida & Davis we'd be able to sell for £20m+ if we wanted. A universe where a decent season in the Championship sees players sell for £15m. Let alone a regular for a top half Premier League side.

This has been explained to Batman on numerous occasions and he refuses to take it in. He can't grasp that Saints to their credit have had a large number of players good enough for significantly richer clubs and that is why they leave. As you rightly point out, teams like Hull, Watford and Stoke don't have the quanity of good players Saints have, so they don't have the volume of interest in their squad that Saints have had. That is why we've lost more than them. Instead Batman goes on constant flawed rants against people like Les Reed... a man key to the club's rise and the conveyor belt of new high quality talent we keep bringing in to replace those that leave. The time to worry is not when we sell to significantly richer clubs, the time to worry is when we don't have players those clubs would want, as that would indicate a drop in quality and recruitment at Saints. Something which hasn't happened. Batman will of course repeat his flawed arguments throughout the rest of the season, into the summer... and beyond! -

Are Pompey going to have an open top bus parade to celebrate finishing 71st out of 92 clubs?

Exeter isn't on the coast.

:mcinnes: Why are you making up what I said in the original post? Nowhere in my original post does it use use the word "rivals". All I did is put on the map all football teams in the top 4 leagues that are located on the south coast of England. Are you denying Plymouth is on the South Coast? Portsmouth and Plymouth have a "south coast dockland derby", so I'm unsure why on earth you take issue with this.
