  1. Ramirez joined Saints in August 2012, Coutinho joined Liverpool in Janaury 2013.
  2. Rodriguez is very quick and often uses his pace to beat a player out wide, as does Mayuka when he plays. We also have two very quick fullbacks in Clyne and Shaw who play in very advanced roles. I wouldn't actually say Lallana or especially Puncheon are "slow" either.
  3. Cortese isn't going to sell him for less than we brought him for under a year ago ffs. Cortese might as well keep Ramirez than sell him at a loss 1 year into a 4 year contract. I maintain he is our best player, just very inconsistent. I think he will be much better next season after a pre-season at Saints, which he didn't have this year. He was also hit by a number of injuries and a family bereavement in his first season in a foreign league at 22 years old.
  4. Kone is 29 years old ffs. Do you not think it is unfair to compare him with a 22 year old that has only had brief cameos so far? I think Mayuka from the little we've seen looks promising.
  5. Are you wearing a Saints shirt?
  6. Is Nigel Adkins tweeting for the Premier League?
  7. http://www.gillinghamfootballclub.com/news/article/martins-message-may-7-811614.aspx
  8. Well if you don't think we will go down and think Saints will get points from Stoke and Sunderland, then a Wigan win is the best thing tonight.
  9. In those last 8 games Southampton are 9th in the Premier League form table... http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/PR/oform.html Some people also continue to think he spearpoint of our team, which isn't the case, it is often Rodriguez playing on the last man and Lambert drops into the number 10 role or wide on the left.
  10. And if we stay up you have to credit... Pochettino Adkins Cortese The club's wealth of relevant signings Reed (but many won't and will continue to be negative)
  11. Ok, you try and find a form table for 4 games. Here is one for 8 games... http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/PR/oform.html Correct, but it is better to be playing well and losing than playing poorly and losing. It indicates you are closer to getting a result in the future.
  12. I didn't say you were, I asked if you were. Can you not understand the difference? Mr Wrong.
  13. What relevance to a game vs Sunderland in 2013 is how a completely different set of players did in 1997 in a game at Middlesbrough for example?
  14. I can't be bothered to work it out as statistical websites don't do form over 4 games. We'd obviously be lower, but doesn't take into account we played well against Spurs and were very unlucky, also had a goal wrongfully ruled out vs Swansea. Norwich on the other hand are playing poorly and not getting points, not to mention they play Man City away on the last day. Can you really see Norwich overtaking us?
  15. So you are joining Alpine with your view than Wigan getting a point away at Arsenal is MORE likely than Saints getting anything from Sunderland or Stoke? I hope you are placing bets, you two are in for a fortune when this all happens. The bookies won't know what hit them!
  16. Again, answer my point... Why do you think Wigan getting a point away at Champions League chasing Arsenal is MORE likely than Saints getting something from Sunderland (without numerous key players) and a team with a terrible away record like Stoke? Wigan could well get a point at Arsenal, but to say it is more likely to happen than Saints getting points from games against bottom half teams like Sunderland and Stoke is bizarre. Can you really not understand why you might be ridiculed for such a viewpoint?
  17. You appear to think Wigan getting a point away at Arsenal is more likely than Saints getting something from an away game at Sunderland (without Sessegnon, Fletcher, Cattermole and Gardner) and a home game against Stoke (who are terrible away from home having only won 2 games and only scored 12 away goals). Can you not understand why people struggle to take such an opinion seriously?
  18. You think them drawing away at Arsenal is likely? They are 11/1 for a win and 17/4 to draw for a reason! It isn't very likely.
  19. Is what I said factually incorrect then? No, it isn't. Did you actually watch the Spurs vs Saints game? Do you think we deserved to lose? Did we play poorly?
  20. Southampton have picked up MORE points than Wigan over the last 8 games. Saints are 9th in the Premier League over the last 8 games.
  21. Saints form over the last 8 games has them 9th in the Premier League!
  22. We are 2 points away from 11th, 4 points away from 18th.
  23. That doesn't even work as a trolling attempt, his loan finishes at the end of the Football League season. No need to "recall him". He'll be sold anyway.
  24. Well if you use the table for a negative slant, why not the positive slant? As a newly promoted side with 2 games left Saints are only 2 points away from 11th (and play that team at home on last day of the season) and only 4 points away from 9th. As things stand tonight, Saints are as close to 9th as they are 18th in terms of points. It is, but not for the reasons you gave.
  25. Too right! Only an extreme pessimist would think otherwise.
