Educated guess given Cortese was a driving force in getting Liebherr to invest. The only way I think Cortese will leave is if the club is sold.

If Cortese goes, so will the financial backing of the Liebherr estate. People were like this when Pardew went, Cortese was shown to have made a good decision picking Adkins for the job of getting the club from League One to the Premier League. He has now made his next "big call", seemingly because he wants the club to go up to yet another level.

If we were discussing some other Premier League teams then yes, I'd pick some of their players ahead of Saints players. We are discussing West Ham though, and I much prefer our squad to theirs.

Boruc is doing very well at the moment now he is being given a run of games, why so definite about a declining Jaaskelainen? Collins? Really? He isn't anything special. And why Jarvis over Lallana or Puncheon? We are talking first XI here. Would you really want Carroll over Lambert? Cole over Lallana or Puncheon? Taylor over Shaw or Lallana? Demel over Clyne? Diame, Nolan, Noble over Scheniederlin or Cork? Tomkins over Yoshida, Fonte (and seemingly Forren)? Can't say I'd agree with most of that. Nor do I think Adkins or Big Sam would given the choice.

We have not had the same fixture list, different teams played home and away. 4 points is not a big gap at all. They also have to come to St Mary's and if Saints win that it would be down to 1 point. Their recent form has been poor. You also overlook my point about the Saints team today not being the same as the one that started the season. Shaw and Cork have made a huge difference, as have Yoshida, Boruc and Ramirez settling in. I wasn't asking them, I was asking you. Which West Ham players would you want in the Saints starting XI? Why do you keep avoiding the question?

We haven't played the same fixtures as them, nor have we got the same team that started the season. Boruc, Shaw, Cork, Yoshida and Ramirez now all bedded in and we are quickly gaining on West Ham, only 4 points behind and they have to come to St Mary's. What would be your answer to my question in post #136?

If it had, Saints wouldn't have just announced Seaborne going to Bournemouth. Seaborne has been our 3rd choice centre back for the last 2 games, they won't be loaning him out without bringing someone else in. Seaborne wasn't upto the Premier League and nor is Aaron Martin.
