  1. Agreed. I thought he had a very good game and showed some fantastic touches. Also showed a little naivety at times though and Fonte gave him a bollocking a couple of times for being out of position in the 2nd half. Still a bit raw in places, but for 18 - looking like a fantastic prospect.
  2. I'd love him to get the job. Claridge talks a lot of sense about Football League matters, but Sid Lowe talks eloquently about La Liga and I don't expect him to be getting a job there anytime soon. After watching that doc on Claridge's ill fated management of Weymouth and having this length of time out of the game - it could only result in a lot of laughs.
  3. When was the last time anyone saw Gazza play 90 mins? Is Davis injured, or could he have been promoted to 2nd choice after good showings in training? He should be better than he was last season, at least.
  4. If the team continues to be successful, then plaudits will rightly surround Pochettino and there will no doubt be suitors. Will be another test for Cortese, along with other teams eyeing up our young talent. However, should we lose him - I'm confident Cortese can replace him with the right man to continue the good work. He's done alright so far! I wouldn't mind betting he has a good idea who he wants to replace Pochettino already, should it happen.
  5. Held in high esteem, Dr Sid. This article shows why...
  6. I have the same problem. Have blead all the radiators. How difficult is it to bleed the tank?
  7. A little bit of speed is just the ticket...
  8. I put on the comments section the immortal phrase: 'Jog it in - rest when you get there!'
  9. Quality article here on the Guardian: http://www.theguardian.com/sport/football-cliches/2013/oct/31/talking-language-sunday-league-football Anyone who's played Sat/Sun park football will appreciate this.
  10. What's a shoe-in? Are you advocating giving the players a kicking? http://grammarist.com/spelling/shoo-in/
  11. I'm not talking about looking back with bitterness. I'm talking about having things that you would change, this acts as a reminder that you've made mistakes in the past. I'm happy with the life I have and person I am. I agree completely that the mistakes we've made, make us the people we are. However, you can't keep going making the same mistakes. Some regret (although I guess regret is too strong a word, maybe acknowledgement would be better) serves as a lesson and reminds you not to make the same mistakes.
  12. Both of these. I think I've pretty much 'put right' everything I want to, but I could have got here a lot quicker with the first one and having to travel whilst working is still enjoyable, but do slightly envy people who have had a real good stint. Oh yeah, and I wouldn't have started smoking either, and probably would curtail my drinking. Plus some ex's. Seems a lot - but people who say they have no regrets, have either taken no risks in their life, or not learnt enough lessons. Saying you have no regrets pretty much says you've never made a mistake in your life - it's not being honest with yourself (IMO).
  13. 3rd time I've reposted this link since I started it, so it's obviously not just me that feels the same way: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?44373-Charity#.UmetkBCrEtc Charity will completely combust if it carries on this way. If what Tokyo says is true, this is just another sad indictment of the charity sector and pretty much sums up all that is wrong with it.
  14. I went to the Warehouse Project in Manchester a few weeks ago. Closest you'll get to these type of raves, nothing like it in London. Reminded me of the Worldances I went to in '96/97/98. Get up there if you want to re-live it!
  15. Shaw has got two exceptional players in front of him (Cole, Baines), plus quite a few others that have more experience and are decent (Gibbs, Bertrand, Rose). He's going to have play well for us and for the U21s to go to the WC ahead of all these players. There'll be plenty of time for him anyway.
  16. I've heard it's amazing there. 50p a pint and Nigella Lawson serves burgers topless...
  17. What league are we in? Junior 1?!
  18. I went there for the re-opening night a few weeks ago on a Stag Do, it was quality. Back to the raving in the 90s. You'll easily get tickets outside if you change your mind.
  19. After the game, get yourself to the Warehouse Project - just down the road from the Stadium. Perfect way to celebrate a win v Utd...
  20. Like anything in footy, you need a bit of luck too. We should have conceded a pen at Norwich, we were lucky a gold plated chance fell to Collins for West Ham and god knows how we kept a clean sheet yesterday - the post and Boruc saving us. It hasn't all been down to exceptional defending, although we obviously have done well in that area.
  21. I agree, he scored some cracking goals for us - Leicester on his debut, Utd and City away. A couple of quotes where taken well out of context when he left and some fans have been on his back ever since. The hatred generated towards him puzzles me really...
  22. Who's left skulking around the club now? Lee is back in the squad, can't think of anyone else apart from Martin.
  23. Isn't S'Chesney Hawkes their No 1 anyway?
  24. The bitterest fans?
  25. Two names that jumped out at me in that list Hasan Yebda and Steve Finnan. Just checked their contribution: 18 and 21 appearances respectively, 4 seasons ago and they're still paying them... Also, didn't many of these players, Kitson and Lawrence etc, give up large portions of their contracts? If I was them I'd make sure exactly how much was given up is published to counter-act this...
