  1. As for Bristol Rovers they've brought in plenty so staying solvent? Only in the same way every other league 2 team does! Bet they can't wait for their big derby against York!
  2. Personally not massively keen on the new kit but more for the fact its not in anyway just "ours". Having a kit template thats also worn by a league 1 club suggests a lack of originality in a way that wearing "the same stripes" as a Sunderland or Stoke just doesn't do. I really don't like the golden badge either seems to me that we should have won something before we go doing something that tacky. But then again I don't buy kits so I guess I won't be bothering anyone ;-) Certainly not going to stop me being there every other week cheering on the team!
  3. Ha I've just read the same "rumour" on football-rumours.co.uk to put into perspective how credible a source we have here!
  4. Defo not, I seem to remember a half crocked Claus and Lee Holmes playing the full 90 mins ouch! As for Wanyama, seems to me like a decent signing but get the feeling that our names being put out there to spark a bidding war seeing as other media snippets seem to be suggesting we have a serious wedge to spend this window.
  5. According to facebook saints account! :-D
  6. Think its fairly same to say now that Lambert is never going to get an England shout. Sad reflection on the English national side when the boss decides its not worth calling up an extra player even as cover because presumably to his mind there are only 5 strikers capable of playing for England around. Have to say I hope Roy toddles off soon England are so boring to watch at the moment. I understood the need for solidity when he was dropped in for the Euros but that was a year ago and I'm not sure we have seen any improvements really. Can't believe that Rodwell would get the call after the season he's had yet someone like Cork is never mentioned.
  7. You'd have to wonder about the point in giving the kid a trial if he's off to the south of France or maybe not ...
  8. Reasonable first half followed by a crap 20 mins after HT and allowing them to get on top but only one team looked like they could win it after we equalised. Lallana, for me, should be dropped for Puncheon. Not only does he give us a better goal threat but he defends far better than AL. Lamberts also looking well off the boil how many times did the cameras show him having a mardy moment? All of this fades away against the back drop of although not mathematically safe, us staying up! Could still easily end up around 10th if results go our way next weekend! Get in lads thanks for not giving it up at 1-0 down!
  9. Get in there Punch my boy!
  10. Bugger! Can't see us scoring today really :-(
  11. Puncheon back in maybe? Can see Clyne at left back and Cork wasted at right back.
  12. Personally thought he made a few decisions that made him look inconsistent and positioning led to him getting in the way of a few passes. Sounds like the red cards were justified but from my viewpoint he should have blown up for a foul on ramirez well before the elbow! Also a bit miffed with his letting Foster time waste so often.
  13. How we've gotten to post #15 without mention of the awfulness that is Clattenberg I do not know! Hopefully this guy can't be worse than him or the other elite refs already mentioned on this list ;-)
  14. I know the royal oak behind debenhams streams all the games if that helps!
  15. I think we have scored something like the 3rd most goals in the league in the opening 10 minutes of a game, Man Utd and someone else I can't remember ahead of us.
  16. Well seems to be the perfect way to test Nicolas strategy ... Adkins the manager vs Adkins team in the race to stay up. I think Reading have too much to do but I fully expect us to lose away to Reading now. Good luck to Nigel just not this season!
  17. Is that not because all the Few are away at the Nou Camp watching Pompey play Barcelona? ;-) My bet is their fans will stream away after losing to Messi tonight hehe
  18. Will Clattenberg be pulled up on the foul by Holt on Shaw in the build up to the peno incident? Unlikely ey but if the push in the box is worth a penalty then why was the push on Shaw not worthy of a free kick because it was outside the box then Mark? Although we shouldn't have crowded around the ref like that Rio Ferdinand recently got away with sarcastically clapping in the refs face so I can't see that our players reacting in an upset manner should be punished either based on that!
  19. Just get the feeling that we are getting overly excited about a player based on his youtube videos! I read the guy has only started 3 games for Inter this season, is that because he's been injured or is his position just blocked by a better player? I would quite like to see us go for Ince and I've always thought Phillips has looked good when playing against us. Been quite proud of the fact our team has come up and now continued to use a good number of home based players not sure I'm keen on a future team full of overseas players like at Chelsea.
  20. For those of you saying this is a standard business issue e.g. Negotiating knowing Nigel is still in the job I'd just like to remind you not to complain if MP ever does the dirty on us and leaves suddenly for bigger and better things. Adkins deserved better from the club no doubt about it, from what I've seen of him he comes across as a man of principals, something which I thought our club had as well. This win at all costs mentality should not be the southampton way.
  21. Unfortunately for the new bloke we have the same tough "start" that Nigel had, both Mancs and an in form Everton, I can see this poor timing change being compounded by 3 defeats in quick succession and the crowd really getting on MPs back.
  22. Didn't have the balls to show his face to the media when welcoming his new employee this afternoon so I'm sure he bottled telling Nigel to his face as well.
  23. The number of times he was there to clear once the ball dropped in our area was amazing. Brilliant distribution again and its noticeable how intelligent he is at picking which tackle to go for at the end of the game there. Well done Capt Morgan ... rums all round!(Because someone had to)
  24. 2 good for us when we fail to play our best attacking players. The other week proved we really aren't strong enough to hold off Chelsea defensively I'd much rather have seen us give it a go with Gaston and Ricky. Saving them for a game against another difficult opponent in Everton might not make any difference.
  25. No, this result won't effect the next 18 results. We lost Adam Lallana in a league game against Reading, seems more likely that will help us get relegated than this result. As others have said if we'd played a reserve team against that Chelsea team we'd have lost by 10.
