I will clarify because your point is fair enough. It is just a bit dull for several well known posters to point out how well in the know they are regards how rubbish we currently are. By all means discuss why or how you think we're doing so badly but to just keep saying "we will be relegated blah blah blah" yep we all get that ;-) As for the strange comment ... IYO obviously? ;-)

Michael Dawson or someone with an equal level of experience, I don't know a lot about European leagues but the Italians always seem to churn out decent centre backs. Probably a few good shouts in the Dutch league and they always seem to fit well into the English game. Matt Phillips or Tom Ince as we need pace out wide with this system

It must get quite boring to keep banging out the same negative stuff again and again. We are all Saints fans here we know that we aren't doing well but hey I'm sure the majority of us remember the bad old good old days of great escapes. We have started poorly that can't be changed now lets just hope we buck our ideas up in the next few games and start to feel a bit more "part of" the premier league rather than a bit part player.

Isn't it Andy Crosby? :-s I do wonder if perhaps his lack of high level experience is a bit of a draw back? I'm sure someone with a higher coaching pedigree than me can tell me why that might be wrong though! I wonder if Jaidi could do the business?

Waigo @ wembley - The guy celebrated like he knew that was probably the top moment in his career. Seeing the "Waigo dance" at wembley was great! Hammond - Goal vs Leeds at home in the 3-1 last season. Set us up for the season and a real captains display that day.

Because judging a player is only based on goals scored and assists made. -rolls eye thingy- just admit he has done a decent job, without setting the world alight.

Haha if reed gets made manager I wonder how many people calling for Adkins head will be happy? Failure of a manager with Charlton you can't take this bloke seriously as a member of the first team staff. Leave him to get on with his academy work as he seems o know his business there.

If you take the (I think it was first goal) Fox was forced to go to the man with the ball as Adam just stood and watched, this was then compounded as the ball was then played to the man Fox would have been with, again AL was no where near him. To me this is basic defending errors which our whole team need to work on better IMO of course. I'm not Fox's biggest fan by any stretch but he's not being helped out as well as he was last year.

We're continuing to make the same mistakes week after week. The two wide mids fail to track back. The centre mid is powder puff and j rod and lambert are both ineffective with the constant long ball crap played upto them. To me Yoshida is no better than Jos. Gutting that we seem to fail to grasp the need to work as a team this year. If you get out of position work your nuts off to get goal side again don't just gently amble back expecting someone else to cover you. For me I'd take off J Rod and wack on Mayuka and see what he can do. Anyone know why Lee was not included on the bench?

The fella who took me round told us the FA(?) or perhaps it was the refs decided that we had made it TOO intimidating for away teams and ordered a change. The seats in the away changing room are also too wide to sit back against the wall on without being really uncomfortable! I also seem to remember he said that Arsenal once smashed up the away changing rooms after losing to us and Portsmouth were the only side, in his words, thick enough to ignore the "don't warm up in the goal mouth" signs.

QPR's team is full of "premier league experience" doesn't seem to have done them any good. The fact is its not about the premier league experience its about how good your players are and confidence from winning games which at the moment they are doing and we are not.

Pretty sure it's been mentioned before but I'm sure we can't loan people now we are in the prem.

I can literally not remember a time where our new manager won his first game :-( Seems to work for everyone but Saints! Also damn the echo telling me of spurs injury headache ... thinking more than one player out possible points for Saints ... nope just Dembele possibly out! Gulp! Will do well to get anywhere near a point methinks! Dump Boruc till he's fit and stick Gazza or Davis back between the sticks.
-
Had a quick look on KUMB some posters on there now suggesting they should go more defensive and try and nick a point! Reckon we would happily take an away point ATM! Nice to see they don't care about us with their 7 page thread compared to our frankly obsessive 2 page thread on here though ;D

I reckon had billy sharp got the 2 chances jay has had in the last 2 games at least one of them would have been a goal. As someone else said taking lambert off just helps the other team. They know he's our best forward and seeing him go off seems to help them raise their game. As for the subs themselves I thought ugly played ok but would personally have taken j rod off for him if anyone. The punch one was a mystery to me as he was always involved and was forcing jol to keep risse pegged back. As we saw once he went off he caused as a lot of trouble once he could come forward more. It is a worry that Adkins doesn't seem to have a coherent plan for subs beyond our plan A, Mayuka must wonder what he has to do to get more than 5 mins!

We seemed to give villa a lot of free headers in the peno box by marking areas rather than the man. I'm struggling to remember did we, in others opinion, use zonal marking last year or is this a new fangled idea?
-
I suspect what he means by that is that Boruc is currently number 3 on merit and will have to prove he is the best keeper here to be our number 1. Hardly good team building to tell the other 2 that they have no chance!
-
I'm pretty sure I remember reading somewhere ... possibly even on here that we were very interested in Martin Olsson from Blackburn but couldnt get the deal through in time. Couldnt have been any worse than Fox but now BBurn are doing well again you would imagine he might just stick it out with them for the season now!
-
You'd have to be mad as a prem manager facing us to not just target Danny fox all game long wouldn't you? Stood off Valencia too much and doesn't seem to be very confident attacking either now. Hope SHaw is upto it!
-
Fox is a liability in this league. WIll cost us plenty more goals. Poor subs this game cost us. Note to Nige please please never take off your three best players again within 5mins! What's everyone's opinion on JROD as well? Seems utterly wasted to me on he left and bit worried to see him failing to win headers against fabio!
-
Thought much the same in terms of the forward line. Seems stupid to me (perhaps I am being daft) to buy Rodriguez who has played mainly as a central striker out on the left when Lambert is capable of playing in the midfield/striker link up. I also prefer Lallana out on the left as he has cemented himself there over the last two years and IMO is actually rather good at it. He also works fairly well with Fox. I have a sneaking suspicion on 1-0 with Jos scoring from a corner. Failing that RVP could rip Fonte to pieces :-(

Aw Alps you really are comedy gold. I'd like Sharp to stay but over and above two excellent young players? Have you considered a career in stand up? And I see your quote has even made an appearance on twitter #saintswebclassics

As soon as Lambert came on yesterday it looked (IMO!!) that the whole team got a lift. We'd been pegged back for the previous 40 odd minutes before Lambert came on and from that point on we started to play some really good football. On the flip side of this I think you have to give credit to Adkins for making a big call and putting him on at a time he thought he would do the most damage and it oh so nearly worked!
