For all the worry over his first half "moment" I think its important to mention he only got into trouble due to an awful pass from Dan Harding. It wasn't the only time Harding almost played us into trouble today. Thought Martin looked very good. Second half reminded me alot of Chris Baird, evaluated the situation and calmy stuck it out of play where necessary. Solid in the air as well. Don't see why he couldn't be a regular in this division if he continues to play like that. How the linesman gave a pen against him for that though was beyond me! Think most defenders would struggle to get a hand out of the way that quickly I'm sure the attacker didn't even think thats where the ball was about to go!

Bit different though Mr Rain Man. Puncheon is expected to bring us in a million ish (including Gorks) whereas Mills is being done a favour in order to no doubt ship him off on a free.

Both fair points and I'd be more than happy to see the back of Punch esp if we end up with Gorks as well! Seems a bloody good deal all round well if you count Punch playing 6 good games before getting in a strop ;-)

Not sure we'd allow Puncheon to play on trial. More likely to be some nobody like the people who played at Eastleigh the other night.

IIRC we brought Beattie for 1m with the cash from selling Davies to Blackburn and then swapped Davies for Ostenstad (either with us or them getting some small fee as well) a season or so later.

Brought mine today rocked up about 3:30 three tickets in the Kingsland/ Northam corner no troubles. I reckon we'll look for about 25-26k home supporters which is not too shabby for a game on sky!

Important point particularily for Saints fans from further afield than Hampshire. I quite like a flutter before the game as it gives it something extra to play for but can't say I'd be massively impressed to have to wait a week or two between home games to collect your winnings. Bad choice of bookies at SMS if true.

For someone who further up the page suggests the strikes are all wrong for "selfish reasons" your comment that you didn't strike because you were alright sounds pretty selfish in itself surely? Have a look at the scale of losses ALL teachers will take - especially those who start out on their careers as of September and explain to me why we should just take a shafting if through striking we can at least create a dialogue regarding the proposed changes.

Serious question could you seriously be teaching a class of 16 yr olds at age 67/68? Could you do it now?

Without looking for an argument; Point C - There is a pay scale in which there are 6 main points which should see an increase in each of the first 6 years, however you are supposed to meet 3 performance management targets. After that there is a rise perhaps every other year based on each years targets. Its upto the Head to then decide if they will raise your pay or not.

The odd side to all of this is that he Cardiff fans are now calling for Bellamy to be given the managers job, relegation o'clock anyone? Pity for Jones he has IMO over achieved with Cardiff and this in the end has been his own undoing! Good luck in the future DJ!

Same as I was thinking! If they pay Norris anywhere near 20k a week they are full on mentals. I would reckon he'd be on closer to 10k than 20 but what do I know I didnt go to the Pompey school of economics!

Serious question but how much of a contribution do you feel he actually made that couldn't equally have been made by a player already in the squad? Arguably Gobern made much more of a contribution than DS this season and yet he might be released!

Could do worse than trying to sign Pugh if AOC was to leave. Bompey definately looked the better value for the win today and personally I'd still like them to go up so we can continue our intense "rivalry" lol ;-)
