As like a few on here if Puel is appointed I will get behind him and support him, however, I do feel we will have missed an opportunity to push on to the next level with a globally well known name like Pellegrini who would have helped raise our profile and made us an even more attractive option for players. I think Puel is more of a black box gamble

Just announced on SSN that Blanc has left PSG so I guess that's Unai Emery off the list. I wouldn't say I have got to melt down stage but I am concerned. We've been told that the black box has next managerial targets identified all the time but it seems (I could be wrong) that we haven't got a clue. I'm concerned we are trying to find the next MoPo but we'll end up with the next Remi Garde. With EL group stage we should be looking at a manager who could can attract players otherwise our continued growth could start going backwards. I hope Les is looking at what is best for Saints and not enhancing his own reputation for finding a diamond in the rough because eventually he's going to end up with a duff.

Rudi Garcia odds been slashed from 40/1 in to 4/1 with a few bookies. Might just be someone lumping some £ on him. Anyone heard anything or know much about him?

Could it possibly be that Everton are having 2nd thoughts or want to talk to other options but Koeman and/or agent are trying to push it through. Maybe Saints have heard this but think the relationship with RK is untenable & would prefer to put him on gardening leave them keep as manager. Maybe a bit far fetched but nothing would surprise me. Not sure if we did put RK on gardening leave how this would effect us replacing him if by law we can ?

Don't forget that there could also be a potential transfer/loan fee for Gaston Ramirez and Dani Osvaldo and the saving of their two wages which are both high up there with our top earners. I would be more surprised if we didnt bring in half a dozen and thats with out possibly having to replace Morgan & Clyne. We know we need one more striker (although that may be classed as JRod) & GK, replacements or the permanent signings of Toby, Elia, & Djuricic so there is 5 already without any beefing up of the squad. If we qualify for Europa I would expect to see a few more academy players bought through as well.

Would love Toby to stay but not sure he will. Elia may be worth punt at £3m but wouldn't be surprised if we look else where. apart from Newcastle I dont think i can remember him doing anything. Djuricic - not seen anything that would make me want to sign him. Still think we would have been better off getting another striker on loan in January rather than another attacking midfielder.

It's an interesting one actually, when is it ok to start believing now, with 10 games remaining, or with 5 ???? As Gary said I have also been supporting saints for 25 years and feel it's too good to be true when talking about champions league. Working in the West Midlands drinking out of a saints mug in meetings certainly is a talking point at the moment when new clients come in tends to be a good ice breaker at the moment. What I have noticed over the last few weeks is these people seem to be believing we have a chance to qualify more than I do, I just stick to my "I'd still snap your hand off for a top 6 finish"

I wouldn't pay any of the fee's we sold for as i think we got a very good price for all of these players and none (possibly Lambert back in his day) are worth what we sold for. I too do not understand the Chambers love in, he is good yes, but I wouldn't have him in my starting line up at Saints.

I think Jack Rodwell & Scott Sinclair would be good options, look to kick-start their careers, they obviously have the talent and they could speak to the younger/academy players and explain that a "dream" big money move to a big 4 isn't always the best move career move especially internationally wise and its better to be playing consistently than sat on a bench and only starting games against Degenham in the cup, like what is about to happen to Chambers. Koeman knows Guidetti so that may not be a bad move either, surely a better back up option that Sharp (awaits the abuse) and Mayuka.

I would be very happy with Vlaar, I work with & know a lot of Villa fans and like pangy said they all think he's their most important player even above Benteke. To be honest I'd love it if we got him just to annoy them because I have to keep listening to "you're being ripped apart just like Villa were, you'll be fighting relegation next year" they still portray us as a small burnley(esque) team
