  1. I dont know about being an academy player but isn't he at Southampton/Solent University doing Sports Science??? if he was there then he wouldnt be a full time academy player
  2. There must be a few reasons why no premier league club has taken a chance on Rhodes as yet he has been touted for ages for a big move
  3. I don't get this theory that all the players want out because they all believed what Cortese sold them and now he's gone they don't believe anymore. It was always going to be a massive task to get us in to the top 4 and if we had of get into the top 4 the chances are we would have replaced these players with bigger & better players anyway. Lambert left because it was Liverpool. Lallana has the lure of champions league football, Shaw has left for arguably one of the biggest clubs in the world for an absolute ridiculous wage. As with the already mentioned & Schneiderlin & Lovren they have been on international duty with players who play at massive clubs who will probably have been talking about the 'holy grail' of champions league. They also probably think playing for a top 4 club will help them cement places in international squads. I think unfortunately we have been victims of our own quick rise & more hampered this year because of World Cup. It would be nice to keep hold of Schneiderlin for at least another year. He stayed with us in league 1 when he was being told by the French set up to leave so fingers crossed.
  4. Shaw to Spurs for £37m
  5. 1. Niemi 2. Dodd 3. Bridge 6. Svensson 5. Lovren 4. Schneiderlin 7. Le Tissier 8. Oakley 11. Lallana 9. Shearer 10. Lambert Manager. Pochettino
  6. i too had the woolwich savings account and also went to the Saturday football at Oaklands for years run by Mike Harvey. My mum and dad ran the kitchen/canteen there for a few years too on the sat mornings.
  7. Depending on who actually goes only include dead teams I think could go. Norwich - Ruddy, Redmond Cardiff - Caulker, Medel Fulham - Stekelenburg, Holtby (I know he's only on loan) Sunderland - West Brom - Berahino, Yacob (although we are covered in this position) Crystal Palace -
  8. living in the West Midlands i have heard a lot about the goings on at Coventry and its a disgrace. I have signed and shared on facebook
  9. Jim white from Sky tweeting that we have moved for Astori this link doesn't show any sign of slowing down https://twitter.com/sky_jimwhite/status/429035156197089280
  10. How can West Ham be discussing terms with Lambert, isn't that tapping up if we haven't given permission...........unless of course we have but surely that news would have become public
  11. This is exactly why we need to try and get the best out of Ramirez and give him game time, not many of our other players have that awareness and skill in their locker to play that type of ball
  12. Everyone's favourite person Neil Warnock was on TalkSport this morning singing Nathaniel Clyne's praises saying with England's rightback's ie Walker & Johnson they are both good going forward but with Clyne he can defend as well as attack.
  13. The tackle on Welbeck was first class as was his all round game.Played better than any of the united midfielders
  14. I think we are going to click very soon and give someone a bit of a pasting
  15. Yes he does drink Malibu & Coke in pubs Bearsy. I use to manage a few pubs/bars/restaurants in Romsey, including Judges (part owned by ex hants cricketer Robin Smith) and have served him.
  16. Yet after the west brom game, Paul merson on sky said that Wanyama looked a £20m player and should be at a top 4 club
  17. I kind of get where you are coming from, however I really don't think we should be cashing in. Cork is a very good squad player as well as being a very good CM player he can also cover a number of other positions. The one thing that has let us down in the past has been our strength in depth and on Saturday I finally looked at our bench and thought wow that's better. It will only take a couple of injuries and/or suspensions and Cork will be in the 11 again.
  18. Surely the squad will be Rooney, Welbeck, Sturridge (in for Defoe) & Lambert ahead of Carroll. I think Lambert will make the next squad or 2 but not get any game time and will be slowly phased out of the squad, this way Hodgson saves a big fuss if he doesn't pick him in the next squad after his Scotland heroics bu everyone will have forgotten about that in 2/3 squads time.
  19. Bloody hell some people are really making a mountain out of a mole hill........they are seats for gods sake, when the stadium is full on a match day you won't see them anyway
  20. The 5 % is pro rata I believe we will get 2.5% as the 5% depends on how many years the player was with the club between certain ages. As we sold Bale at a young age I believe we are only entitled to around half the 5%.
  21. Its the impression I have got from reading various posts and conversations i have had regarding Osvaldo. I would prefer not to start naming people as this will just start another argumentative thread. My post was just my opinion on 'he's only coming here for money' it wasn't aimed at any particular poster
  22. I don't get this train of thought that if a player comes here for money they are not going to try etc If a player comes here for £60k he's probably going to play out of his skin to try and get a move to a big 4 or top European club who will pay him £100k a week. It's no different than a sales person leaving a £20k a year job to go to £25k a year job he's not going to stop selling just because he went there for the extra money, we are just talking bigger numbers
  23. The latest from Di Marzio http://www.gianlucadimarzio.com/calciomercato/southampton-is-confident-for-osvaldo-but-wolfsburg-and-tottenham-are-still-in-race/
  24. Napoli now apparently looking at Eto'o so if they get him with Higuain etc can't see them going for Osvaldo too
