I think it's brilliant. It does tend to divide opinion into extremes though. I thought the US version was slight worse than OK but not abysmal.
-
Have you said anything? I doubt it.... You've whinged a bit that you're not happy at our start, well who is? Everyone else can see that it'll probably take a bit of time. You just want to throw your toys out of the pram and cry.
-
Seeing as you brought my name up.....what I find ridiculous is that there was no point to your whining and complaining. There was nothing constructive apart from a toddler like cry of "but I want to win". We played better yesterday (by all accounts) and should have won. Of course it's frustrating and of course it's taking longer than we'd like but it is what it is - a job in progress. If you'd complained about the signings, the team selection or anything else then you would have an opinion and something to justify it. Yesterday you did nothing but moan without anything to back it up. If you feel we should have won then obviously you feel that something that hasn't been done should have, or that mistakes have been made. What are they?
-
If you're talking about the little "adverts" between segments then yes I agree - it is like advertising. If you're talking about the "news" content such as when John Sargant quit Strictly Come Dancing last year then they can justify it by the fact that so many people are interested in it. Personally I don't but then I don't get to make the rules and obviously a lot of people do find it worthy of being in the news. Interesting you should say that you don't feel you should pay for the tat you don't care about - if you just subscribed to content you were interested in then you'd find that you'd have less choice and less "quality" TV. Look at SKY, look at ITV how much genuine quality documentaries do they produce? Not many.
-
They also plug other crappy entertainment shows on other channels such as Big Brother. They do that because for some reason people are interested in it. Off the top of my head I can remember Justin Lee Collins and Noel Edmonds both plugging shows on SKY on The One show (and I don't watch it that much). I'm not disgusted by the BBC at all but that's not the point - Murdoch Jnr was moaning because he felt that the BBC offering "free" content on the internet was harming the chances of independant companies making money from online content. It's a fair point but given the alternative it seems most of us are more than happy with the BBC.

No one has said we don't want to win games and no one has denied you the freedom to express your pointless opinion. In the absence of any argument except "we need to win games" your posts are without substance. If you're going to moan then at least have the balls to back it up with a decent argument.

He's not trying to offer solutions or excuses - he would just like to moan a bit. He's not saying Pardew is bad, he's not saying the team is bad, he's just a bit tired and emotional.
-
I think everyone knows your point of view now. It wasn't constructive in any way, it wasn't illuminating, it didn't make me think and it wasn't interesting. Thanks for sharing though.
-
So basically you'd just like to have a bit of a moan? Fine but pointless (much like saints really).
-
Have you seen Fox News? Have you read the Sun? Bias? BBC doesn't even come close.
-
of course we hoped it would be better! Did anyone seriously say "You know what? I really hope we don't have a storming start to the season. Our best bet is to not win any of our first 5 games." If you want Pardew to sort it out then you need to appreciate the starting position he had. It's not ideal, it's not great and if we haven't done better by the end of the year then it's probably time to worry but now is not the time (and it's boring).
-
Fantastic, great response. We all hoped for that but some people realise it might take time. What do you propose now then? Sack Pardew?
-
Nope, you moan and you groan and get tedious. It's 5 games in after a pre season where we failed to beat Eastleigh, Totton, Bournemouth and Salisbury. What did you honestly expect?
-
And you seem happy to moan. So tell me what exactly would you do differently?
-
So the logical conclusion to this is Pardew is crap and should be sacked? Or is this just a bit of whining?
-
Well it is ironic when you say your posts are accurate and articuate (sic). And yes the post I was replying to was basically saying don't slag off Gillett because he might read this which could be said for any player.
-
So basically no one can say a player is rubbish? oh and it is kind of ironic you spelt articulate wrong......
-
Just out of interest what do you propose we do to rectify the situation?

(Simon) Charlton has just scored his fourth of the afternoon.

Stockport vs Saints - 1st Half updates/discussion
revolution saint replied to Thorpe-le-Saint's topic in The Saints
I'm glad we've learnt the lessons from previous games. Clearly we can't hold on to a lead and so we've not fallen in to that fatal trap of scoring too early. I bet Stockport haven't even thought about that have they? Those pathetic league 1 fools will probably score and shoot themselves in the foot! -
Saganowski?

I'm not ITK at all but here's my thinking: The O'Donovan story is probably something put about by his agent. We'd be more likely to go for a loan if one of our targets fall through. Jaidi will probably sign if he gets permanent residency status. Seeing as though he's apparently still training with us and was at the game makes me think it's still an option. A genuine winger is probably one of the deals we're working hard on - I've no idea who though. Gradel possibly? We seemed to have talked to Leicester when Rasiak or Saga were linked and wanted him but their valuation wasn't what we were offering. Pardew said it was something we might return to. A striker. Someone who will link up with Lambert so that would be the "little" in the little and large partnership. Maybe Craddock? If you look at his career it's a bit like Kevin Phillips - released by a club early on and steadily rebuilt his reputation. Simeon Jackson would be on paper the ideal partnership but there has to be other options available Nathan Tyson and Freddie Eastwood spring to mind (though the latter doesn't have much pace). Right Back. Probably won't do anything until Murty's injury is properly assessed and then hope to either make do with what we've got or solve the problem with a loan. This is all my pure guesswork but if anything I've said happens then I'll gladly take the credit.

If the license fee helps drive The Sun and Fox News out of business then that can't be a bad thing, can it? It makes me laugh when little Murdoch bemoans independant journalism - since when has News Corp been unbiased? Voicepiece of very rich man intent on getting richer IMO.

Everyone has their own opinions about players and that's what forums like this are for. No one is right and no one is wrong. Personally I'd be tempted to say he's the the midfield version of Lee Todd but then people would say I'm just saying that because of his size...so I'll just say I don't think he is up to it. He isn't a young kid anymore and he really should be doing better than he is if he's as good as people say. A much much poorer version of Prutton (and i didn't rate him much either) but all in my opinion.

Football finance and football hooliganism and points deductions are completely unrelated...The only ones who suffer are genuine fans. Ban the fans and fine the clubs though.
