  1. His dad still is Mark Chamberlain.
  2. Trust me, you will eventually die.
  3. Stop moaning! You don't give the club your money for nothing. In return you get the same seat in your preferred location for every league game at SMS (at a discounted price) Does your local cinema give you a payment plan?
  4. so what did he say???? so what did he say???? Jap speak is easy
  5. BBC America and papers such as the Independent and Guardian (on-line) have formed my opinion.
  6. I just don't get this thread at all. However, we will see how many tickets are sold and this will determine how much of an issue it is. Personally I think this is only a small minority of fans.
  7. You've been watching too many movies!! Personally I would ban the lot of them. My Mrs is a cop in LA and I have no interest at all in playing with her guns (ooh err!) but I am glad she have them when working!
  8. Actually the BBC and some of the papers have given preference to the Palestinians for many years.
  9. Totally agree. Not everything can be paid for in installments. This was a perk not a right. Some people seem to think you don't have to save, borrow, finance or go without for anything any more. ST's have always been a lot of money up front but you get to choose your seat and it's less than paying on a match day. The announcement was poorly timed - that's all.
  10. I do sympathise for those that can't afford to pay in one hit, but can you expect SFC to offer payment plans because some people can't be trusted with a credit card? I don't think it's a smart arse comment to question why you should go if you can't afford it. Money is tight for everyone (except perhaps pro football players) and some things have to be put on hold until more affordable.
  11. The risk they have is not receiving full value for the product they are selling. This impacts there own financial planning and before long cash flow becomes negative. I don't know the reason for withdrawing the payment plan and I am surprised they did it, knowing the predictable reaction from the fan base. If other clubs do it then there must be a solution that fits both SFC and some ST buyers. We will all see how this decision impacts the club when ST sales are announced. Looking at the comments from everyone I appear to be in the minority in thinking it is not the clubs job to make season tickets available to those that can't personally finance them. If you can't afford a season ticket, buy a match day ticket. Buying a season ticket has always been expensive during the summer months - this is not a new issue. I could not afford one for a number of years and just had to deal with it. I don't believe for a second that this sensitive issue was not discussed in detail by the club and all avenues were explored - including the reaction from the fans. Supporting pro football is an expensive habit.
  12. Exactly, which is why the club can no longer do it.
  13. if people are that hard up for cash, what are they doing blowing money on football? Southampton Football Club Not; Southampton Finance Club
  14. Not that I buy a season ticket anymore, but is it normal for clubs in the Championship and Premier league to have payment plans? In other words, is SFC acting differently to the majority of clubs? If we want automatic promotion and the best squad in the league a price has to be paid - just ask Chelsea fans. I do think having to pay an extra 3 quid to book on-line seems crazy. Maybe Eastleigh FC will benefit....
  15. Not quite as simple when there are missiles launched into Israel from Palestine on a regular basis. They wanted to search the ship for weapons and were not allowed. Two sides to every story but they do have a habit of being ruthless when the rest of the world would behave differently. In my opinion there really is no solution. The arabs don't believe in the state of Israel and the jews are not going to move out.
  16. Excellent Minty!!! Really enjoyed that - looks a better evening in Soton than over here. Really curious as to why not many 'older' players in the teams? I'm 47 and have a game tonight !
  17. Just read this! Glad me and my mates over here are not the only ones that think he is a right ****! It's not just his accent that ****es us off it's the constant crap that comes out of his gob. I think Mustoe and Barton do a reasonable job.
  18. Don't forget to send us pics of this much awaited contest!!!!
  19. Yes, I think there would be the same problems.
  20. The issue with the Echo from my point of view is since they got in trouble with Cortese about the training ground, they appear to have developed an agenda against him. I don't want a censored or biased press but I do want one without an agenda when it comes to reporting sport in a provincial paper. The Echo and the club have a broken relationship which is clear to most, and should be repaired. It's best for the paper, the club and the fans when everyone plays nicely together.
  21. Never upset someone that will bring you food (before you get it)!!!
  22. +1 Interesting that the paper does not add the name of their 'reporter' covering today's SFC statement. As always, any controversy and they hide behind their keyboards. Tossers.
  23. Are they blaming the development on Nicola Cortese and have they asked Lawrie for a quote?
