I thought he had previously been considered, perhaps back in the summer, but the club obviously ultimately felt Hughes should be given the job after "keeping us up". I imagine recruting him now was just a question of seeing who we had been looking at before and resurrecting our interest, made easier of course by the fact Ralph was between jobs. So yes, it was probably down to Reed, hard to believe Krueger came up with the idea on his own. You know for a fact that there have been no bids I suppose. Transfers don't always work like that anyway. If a player is unsettled his agent will tout that around.
