Correct. He also won't stick around if/when we are relegated. Bayern's cast-offs do not play in the Chumpionship.
-
40 million . We will be lucky to get £40, which is about all he is worth these days. Perhaps the price quoted includes Boufal and Redmond in a buy one get two tossers free deal.
-
Despite the continuing mistakes he makes, costing us goals directly by his casual play. Also gives next to nothing goals wise. He will be a good player eventually but needs to cut out the mistakes. Stephens gets panned on here by some, yet makes very few mistakes, reads the game better, provides a threat up front, people also say he does not head the ball, which h is a complete myth.

Stephens will come back in, the dreadful Hoedt will be rightfully dropped. Hoedt will be good one day, but has a lot to do to get there. Stephens is infinitely better than Wesley.

Quite honestly, there is nothing to suggest that anyone would have turned around the complete shambles that we had gotten into. When we have ended up with such useless tossers as Boufal, Tadic, Redmond, Carillo, Hoedt, Lemina I really don't see that Guardiola, Mourinho or Klopp individually or cleectively would have made any significant difference. I really don't think blaming Hughes is particularly smart. This has been coming since Les fell out with Koeman, and our shambolic ownership and senior management failed to see what was happening and take decisive action.

Yes it does, also misses their match v Swansea, so not good for us.
-
Think Harry Lewis would be considered backup if we are in the Championship. Has played most of the season for Dundee Utd in the Scottish Championship (though has been relegated to the bench recently) to gain the experience, would be strange not to have him back in the first team squad especially if we are relegated (unless he wants to return to Shrewsbury who will probably be in the same league as us, can't believe that I've just written that). Anyway, does anyone actually know anything about this Westwood guy,? Unfortunate name, does he come with a bell?

How can Forster be a better shot stopper? He has never stopped one (except away at Arsenal last year or the one before). Shot stopping is Fraser's poorest skill. SKD was (probably still is) a better shot stopper that Desparate Dan. :-)

Nearly £100m worth of 'Talent' not on the pitch yesterday

Lemina is Gabonese, he was born there not in France. -
Current Saints' players/staff that have been relegated elsewhere?
VectisSaint replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
Sam Gallagher coiuld have two relegations, Blackburn f'sure and Birmingham not safe yet. Incidentally anyone know why he has not played recently? Injury or out of favour? Not sure if Steven Davis counts, Rangers were relegated from the SPL to the 3rd Division following their insolvency, which resulted in him joining us. Although we should not be looking out to recruit players with this experience it could be handy to have one or two who have experienced the lows and bounced back. They might be able to help some of our delicate petals. -
Won't happen while Ms Liebherr remains part owner of the Club. Might happen if Gao buys her out completely and looks around for some help spending his (backers') money, which hopefully he will at some point otherwise we will continue with the current bumbling board.

It was actually taken from more or less the right place. The confusion is because people think that it was given for the first "tackle" by JWP inside the Chelsea half. It wasn't it was given for the second one inside Saints half, as clearly indicated by Dean gesturing to play on at the time. For all his faults, Dean was actually pretty much spot on with this decision and its aftermath (Dermot Gallagher tried to clarify this on Sky, his clarification was awful and confused but it was correct if you could see through his muddled explanation). The problem, as so often this season is that our midfield either don't stop dangerous attacks or give away stupid free kicks in dangerous positions. Then our defenders get blamed for the consequences. In many cases it is not our defenders that are the problem, but our midfield, Lemina, Romeu, Hojbjerg, JWP, Tadic, Davis, Redmond, Boufal all have been quilty often of causing goals by their defensive ineptitude at various times. But the so-called Forum experts blame Stephens, Cedric, Bertie and Hoedt (Hoedt has been guilty several times of awful individual errors of course). Chelsea's second goal could easily have been prevented if Tadic had been marking Hazard instead of standing watching what was going on, hand on hips.

No she did not. She did not get to control the club until the Probate process was completed. Almost as soon as she got control she showed Cortese the door. Poch followed. She was not in control when we rose through the Championship and for the first 2 seasons back in the PL.
-
But would anyone from the club contact him to let him know?
-
Problem is that we are so devoid of people with football knowledge now, how do you think Gao will find the right person to appoint? Perhaps Nelly will find the right candidate.
-
Someone should have followed up about Sam McQueen as well, think he is long term absentee and Hughes seems to forget about him unless asked specifically. Shame cos he could do a job that lets Bertrand played in a back 3 which we know he can do well.
-
looked. Long didn't exactly look full of confidence either, but new manager and style helped to bring it back. We need someone with a bit more finesse than Shane to play against Chelsea, ideally I would play Austin, but he doesn't give the impression that he could do the full 90 yet. We all know Gabbi is top class given the right service, think he would be a better bet than Long for this one, and if Long is not fully fit (which Hughes confirmed he has only been back training today).
-
No McQueen or Davis either. Not sure Long was the right way to go for Chelsea anyway, would be tempted to start Gabbiadini.
-
Seldom seen Yoshida do this, but Hoedt does often.
-
Guess its dependent on Long's fitness. Didn't look good on Sunday. Would put Davis in instead of Hojbjerg (if fit) and Sims instead of Tadic. Problem is we are screwed if either CB gets a knock or a red, really don't want to have to depend on Bednarek.
-
Picked up an injury yesterday apparently.
-
Or could be the fact that he has been ill during the week. He was mentioned as a doubt by Sparky. Guess Davo is not fully fit yet either. Still persisting with the woeful Tadic, but otherwise guess that is the best team for the job from the players available.
-
McCarthy Cedric (or Pied) Stephens Yoshida McQueen Romeu JWP Lemina Davis Sims Austin Subs Taylor Pied/Cedric Hoedt Bertrand Hojbjerg Gabbi Long Hopefully Tadic, Boufal and Redmond not even on the bench. Might even consider Bednarek on the bench instead of the awful Hoedt. Lemina to push forward more, Romeu to provide the DM anchor role (and try to avoid getting a yellow)
-
Targett probably.
