  1. Its because they are organised and sanctioned by the same organisation, the Football Association, not because European games are treated differently. Much better this way, often can run a ban off in a less important cup game.
  2. I would say even if one of his arms falls off. He may not be the best keeper in the world but compared to Desparate Dan he is Lev Yashin. Forster had an occasional blinder but otherwise he is not even average.

    Tadic??

Gives the ball away far too often in my opinion, slows the play up and passes backwards too often when not necessary. Yes he has done well in the past but he has been awful this season, at least until the last few games.
  4. Perhaps they intend to build a mezzanine deck
  5. and they were right...
  6. To be fair, apart from the Cup match, the Under 18s are actually doing pretty well this season, and especially recently (currently 4th in their section with games in hand on 2nd/3rd). The upturn in their fortunes seems to coincide with the arrival of Danny Butterfield to assist Craig Fleming. Whether he is the reason or just coincidence is of course open to debate.
  7. You're right, explained in the report itself (not the Telegraph item). It is however massaged to some extent because of the way different clubs do their accounting. If yu want to read the full report it is available for download here: https://www2.deloitte.com/content/dam/Deloitte/uk/Documents/sports-business-group/deloitte-uk-sbg-dfml2018.pdf (56 pages) Commercial and Matchday revenue still way below the average for 16-20 place clubs. Only the Broadcast revenue really gets us in the Top 20.
  8. The report is about revenue, so why wouldn't it include transfer income? Revenue is income from normal business activities, which for football clubs would have to include transfer dealings. It is a bit misleading to say this is a list of the richest clubs, because it does not include outgoings or assets, but it is one indicator among several.
  9. Not really an issue though, is it. Think we have 3 spare places now, and we are hardly being swamped by new arrivals.
  10. Lost out to best striker in PL at the moment, not many do that. Other than that looked very good and confident ad usual and should have scored as well.
  11. He can only get an assist if someone scores.
  12. Perhaps we could bring him in as 2nd half manager. MP can do 1st half then Silva could do the half time talk and the subs.
  13. You think our players would fetch 200 million, now that's delusion.
  14. Not really a brilliant article, nowt wrong with what it says but seems to be missing a second part and some sort of conclusion. Needed to follow up about the downward spiral of the Academy, the dithering of the Board, the lack of anything from the new owners and a whole host of other issues. Instead the article just stops.
  15. He has actually been implementing an initial strategy quite well recently. It's the real ton when the opposition reacts and changes theirs that is the problem. He has no idea how to cope with changes during the match.
  16. It needs an upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 10. Les is still waiting for the nice people from India who phone regularly to provide MS upgrades.
  17. Have been saying this was happening for about 2 years now, but the happy clappers said everything was rosy. One area that does seem to be improving though is the u18s where things have started to look up since Danny Butterfield was appointed. Needs serious surgery at the top of the Academy.
  18. We won't go 2 up top while we only have 2 fit strikers. Even if the thin one thought it would be a good idea.
  19. Wrong, we were set back by the first goal. Giving the ball away, letting them back in and not reacting effectively to the changes made by the opposition. We were very good first half, no doubt, but time and again this manager and these players cannot react to changes and cannot maintain momentum. Yes the equaliser was disgraceful, but it had been coming all half, if that hadn't gone in likely another one would. Still there do seem to be some small signs of improvement.
  20. Usually when it gets dark
  21. Too small, wonder how Eden Hazard made it then. Taller than Redmond, maybe you're right.
  22. Good result. Nice to know that we should be OK when we drop down to the Southern League.
  23. Not convinced he will go to Everton. Note that reports say Everton are negotiating with Arsenal. Arsenal are clearly dealing with the potential buyer who appears to be making the best offer. The still has to agree, and being a Liverpool fan I have some doubts that he will do so if there are alternatives available. Maybe straw clutching, also not convinced that Theo is an answer anyway, a player who has always had pace but not much of a footballing brain, and who wasn't greatly improved in that sense by Arse Wenger.
  24. He's still playing in Senegal, but will be 41 in May.
  25. You seem to have missed some data there, like all the seasons when he has scored plenty of goals, including the last season and a half. You seriously don't think he is better than our current shower? Really makes you wonder. Total nut job, granted, at least he was, sometimes people change as they mature.
