Selling club do not pay agents fees. Agents are paid by the player and the buying club. Why would the selling club pay an agent, in a case like VVD's. The time a selling club pays agents fees is when they are trying to offload a player and need to find a buyer. Can't see the article (is there a link) but this is at odds with what was said when the transfer was done, which was £70m up front (with 5m add-ons). The Celtic cut comes out of that obviously but we should still be getting upwards of £60m. Should we believe what is written in a Murdoch rag?

Technically correct, but in the real world the club has to manage players. They can't just say "sorry, son you're not playing", they are professional players being prevented from fully earning their living. They tend to loan them or move them on/terminate contracts. Bit different with the European rules where it is only a small number of games they are not available in.
