  1. A 737 can get in and out of Eastleigh. Had the pleasure of being diverted from Heathrow a few years ago. It was tight though.
  2. I have one of those as well, I guess not really PC these days. Still in its original little plastic bag, no idea where I got it.
  3. Great, another song about a team we aren't likely to play again for a long time. Don't we have enough songs about them already? No offence to your nipper, but how about some songs about us, or about teams that we might actually play against.
  4. Any reason at all that McDermott should show us respect? What a pointless thread.
  5. Mad response. Its the team that are top of the league at the end of the season who have been most consistent. That could still be us or Reading. How can you say we have been more consistent than them, were you asleep during December and January?
  6. 3rd best actually, we overtook Middlesbro last night
  7. No need, they have anyway
  8. Actually agree, Hammond is probably more suited to the Peterboro match, bit less finesse and a bit of a crappy pitch, Spiderman definitely would get the nod against Middlesbro and Coventry though. The best bit though is that it gives us options, Spiderman out meant we were very limited in CM.
  9. I am sure Sylvio would be very welcome at St Marys, as long as he brings some of his nieces with him.
  10. To be fair its not just Alpine who thinks there was something wrong. I had 2 mates at work today independently thinking along similar lines. If someone else had started this thread it would have been given more credence.
  11. True, the full list also includes Newcastle, Finn Harps, Durban Celtic, Cape Town City, Newcastle KB United, Gosnells City, Durban City and Mirama Rangers. Other than that he was indeed a one-club man
  12. David, you really are slipping if you think Windmill only played for Saints. You're forgetting Man City and Norwich and even his spell with the lot down the M27. Painer won the 3rd division with Hereford after Lawrie Mac showed him the door (he played over 100 times for Hereford). Sydenham played for Aldershot, as did many of our players in those days, they were almost our reserves for a while.
  13. Bit odd, they don't include Ted Bates in the main list, but mention him in the section about coaches etc. He was on Norwich's books, but never made a 1st team appearance. Strictly Nick Holmes should't be in the list as he played for East Cowes Vics.
  14. 1st was Fox's fault, pure and simple. His pass was totally awful, if that put Fonte under pressure then so be it, but it was Fox's fault, not Fonte's. As for the 3rd, does it really matter We were pushing to equalise, always chance that we would concede 3rd. The 1st was the shocker, we were totally in command at the time, and would not have lost if Fox had not made such a total feck up. But will not blame Fox overall, has been pretty good overall, everyone makes a mistake at some time. Fonte has been good this season, but is now overshadowed by Jos for sure. Sadly the goals dried up for Jose, he got 6 last season I think, none this. I think he has not been quite the same since he got his hair cut, needs to let it grow again.
  15. Yes it must be exceedingly dull to have supported the 1982 European Champions, 7 times league champions, 7 times FA Cup winners and 5-times League Cup winners. Over 100 seasons in the top flight. Oh for some of their dullness. Coventry really should be the easy winners of this award.
  16. Has to be one of the most stupid threads ever, some so-called Saints fans "debating" if Lallana is any good. How fecking ridiculous can you get. Best player in the Championship bar none, and most passionate Saints player out there and still some Mongs can't see it. Still what do you expect from TDD and Roger, their posts are just patently ridiculous.
  17. We may not have won, but I'm sure we wouldn't have lost, and in the end that is what was important.
  18. The reason no-one says it is because it is rubbish. Lallana had another good game last night, just like last week. God knows what you expect, Messi or somthing. I have read some negative posts bu you make Alpine look like a happy-clappy. Some people have no clue.
  19. My vote for dickhead of the season.
  20. Maybe the Blog has been updated since it was orignally posted, but it does say that Painer was awarded a WC medal (belatedly). But he also won Division 3 championships twice (once with us and once with Hereford) and of course Division 2 Runners-up, so it patently is rubbish that he never won anything. MLT also received a runners-up medal at the ZDS in 1992. So basically the blog is a crock of ****e just like a lot of lazy journalist crap this is written these days. Referring to the Blog: "Neither player is unlikely to be forgotten any time soon on the south coast. By way of comparison, anybody been thinking about Paul Gilchrist, Jim Steele or Mel Blyth recently?" Was thinking about Jim Steele a few days ago, when he was on the Mick Channon interview on ****Sport. The double negative by the author makes the sense of the above paragraph completely wrong as well.
  21. Some goals from midfield really are needed. Cork and Hammond 1 goal between them this season (Spiderman has 2), thats poor really for a high-scoring team. Our full backs don't score many either. Last season Jose got 6 I think, this season zero.
  22. So if he's improved as much as the other fatty you refer to we should sign him up pronto :-) I blame Whisky George fairly and squarely for any porkiness amongst our players at the time. Its what happens when you are a complete retard of a coach and you lose your assistant who made you look something like decent.
  23. Article written around a lot of historical material that is no longer relevant. In any case Middlesbrough (where Southgate was manager) are another leading exponent of the youth academy system, and have similar issues to Saints in terms of catchment area. Those scouts camping at St Mary's this season must be struggling to see the new youth players, because apart from an odd cameo appearance there has been little or no sign of any youth player making a breakthrough this term.
