  1. In an ideal world you would not replace Romeu. Maybe the rest of who you listed. Mad. Romeu is about the only one that would be a must keep. Diallo is no gem, at least based on his perfomance Monday.
  2. Bednarek has been making mistakes far worse than Jack ever did. Don't get me wrong I like Bednarek, but he has lost it since Manure, and Stephens is a more than adequate replacement for the current JB.
  3. It has become a thing with us and it is the main reason we bring pressure on ourselves. It is everyone now, but yesterday we looked like we were rushing as well, almost panicking to give it away. Because of the way we play, passing it around at the back waiting for an opening, a trigger, when we are sloppy with the passes it kills us. I don't understand why so many players have caught this disease. Players who in the past were precise and quick with their passes now are all over the place. Was it Bertrand who last night at one point put a simple pass straight into touch, just didn't seem to think about it enough. Until we can get the players back to do these basics right again, which we know they can do, we will ship goals left, right and especially centre. WBA should have been 3 or 4 up before they scored, a combination of poor shooting and lucky defending kept them at bay for a while.
  4. You didn't see the game. I can confirm to you that we were as bad as some people are making out. In fact we were much worse than some people are making out, especially in the first half. We were shocking, in much the same way that we were shocking in the first 15/20 minutes against Burnley. We couldn't get hold of the ball, and when we did we gave it away with sloppy passing, and we left the centre midfield completely unattended, and Forster had a brain fart, and and and and. Don't be fooled, we were abysmal, and some of our key players were the worst culprits. Bednarek has resorted to wrestling in the penalty area now, instead of defending as he used to do, he just wants to pull an hang on to opponents shirts, he has forgotten the basics (which he was good at) and has become a liability, OK it was his birthday yesterday, so I guess Ralph couldn't drop him, but his confidence is shot to pieces since the ManU debacle, and he is getting worse. To be fair to WBA they were playing some really neat football (obviously Fat Sam has got some other coach in behind the scenes). It wasn't really a tactical thing last night, it was players not being arsed, not motivated and on the beach, and looking exhausted (JWP). By the way all my comments are based on the first half. I didn't watch the 2nd half, dinner was on the table, and the prospect of another 45 minutes of that awful stuff was too much to stomach (don't worry I could hear the commentary and would have rushed back to the settee if there had been any sign of a comeback.
  5. We are totally shit. Same as first 20 minutes against Burnley, so many giving the ball away cheaply in dangerous positions. KWP, Walcott, BEDNAREK, JWP all guilty, and the Forster has a rushbof blood as well. Diabolical.
  6. Nothing wrong with what Turkish said (you could have picked him up for typing "is" instead of "in"). We have won one thing in 131 years. We've won one thing in 132 years, one thing in 133 years, one thing in 45 years. I guess the Johnstones Paint doesn't count. We have actually won the Third Division twice (Third Divison South once if you want to be pedantic), and the Southern League six times, and let's not forget the glory days in the Hampshire Senior Cup.
  7. To be fair it makes no difference for the U18s, there is no relegation from their league. The u23s are different they get relegated to the B division again. All assuming Saints maintain their top category academy status. Big problem is that it is harder to attract youngsters to Saints Academy if the top two academy levels are performing badly. Sincerely hope Crocker is doing something to address the current situation. This has been coming for a few years now, we have been living on past glories for far too long.
  8. Looks like it, bad news for us cos it means we get Lemina back. Would rather Steve Bruce had got relegated.
  9. True, the game would be abandoned.
  10. Honestly have no memory of this bloke at all. Is being transferred to the Scrubs relevant for this thread?
  11. Champions League (though he already has that on his CV of course) and linking up with Brendan Rogers again (coached him at Chelsea). It was mooted last year, but the stories are circulating again now. Makes a great deal of sense.
  12. Leicester
  13. Are they paying more than £7.5m per year, or more than LD Sports paid per year? That is the question. If its the latter it could be 50p and still be more than those shisters paid us (allegedly)
  14. Sounds like it is already a done deal, indeed suggestions it may be made permanent before the end of the season (is that allowed?). Well worth it, two years would be as good as he would get anywhere, he still has the pace, yes his decision making is not great (was always the case) but he scares defenders to death, and he also puts in a good shift defensively and links up well with KWP when required. On top of that he wants to play for Saints. Guessing we will unload Long this summer, so not really any issue bringing Theo in permanently.
  15. He has been poor since the Man U game, his confidence took a battering, it wouldn't be a bad thing to give him a break, dropping him for one bad game would be unreasonable. But I also like the idea of keeping the same team as won on Sunday.
  16. Clearly isn't as this season has demonstrated, lessons learned, when you play two in the middle like we do you have to have cover, critical area. The chances of JWP going through another season are very low (just by the law of averages), and whether Jankewitz stays is clearly open to question.
  17. Rubbish, Pelle and Tadic were both influenced to come because of Koeman as we're several others who joined in that period. If you think they would otherwise have joined you are more deluded than I imagined. And no, I won't provide you with evidence of my claim.
  18. Would play Walcott every time over Minamino wh has been a total waste of time since his arrival, 2 goals excepted. Walcott makes things happen and is much better defensively , but his decision making (yesterday) was woeful, but it was his first game back. Time to bring Stephens in to replace Bednarek? I get that Salisu may be better but not sure he can partner Vestegaard without moving Vest out of his preferred left side position.
  19. Great result, we really needed that, and overall it was a good performance. But we shouldn't ignore the fact we were shockingly bad in the first 20 minutes, not just the defensive errors but constantly giving the ball away, a better team than Burnley might have buried us. Oddly some of our best players were guilty, KWP and Stu dreadful. But after Peters got injured we were a different team (and so were they). So many golden opportunities wasted though, think a fair score would have been 5-3. Great opening goal from Stu (brilliant assist from Danny) and great 2nd form Danny. We tried our best to fuck it up in the last 10, some of Bednarek's defending was really poor, and Burnley should have had a pen for Bednarek's shirt pulling. Still, think the last 10 was partly down to nerves, now that we've got that one in the bag I think we will go on to have a decent run in.
  20. Sounds like Minamino not a starter tomorrow, fatigued from the long trip to face the mighty Mongolia. Couple of other internationals not good either, Armstrong maybe.
  21. Now we know what happened to Vokins (though it became fairly obvious before it came out officially)m anyone any idea what has happened to Valery at Brum? Hasn't been in a squad now for a few games, and isn't listed as injured or sus[pended. He did make some strange comments a while back about the team needing to make more effort, and hasn't been seen since, coincidence?
  22. Yes, resting him because he has a calf problem, clearly not in a position to have trained yet. He might well be OK for Sunday, but he clearly wasn't sent home because of some arrangement that he wouldn't play, some people do come up with some nonsense. There was no need to send him home if he didn't have a problem, not like it was an overseas game, he could have stayed with the squad at Wembley and just sat on the bench.
  23. So that was a load of rubbish then, calf problem, not trained. Cursed internationals.
  24. Just a small point but it was 2010, that's 11 years ago. Where is MLG when you need him.
