  1. Agree with this. Sharp fell through and I would be very surprised if the club tried to resurrect it. As for Maynard, they may well feel that he is going to end up in the Prem. Strange wording though, I'm sure they'd want both of them, just that they have targeted elsewhere as their priorities.
  2. Solent have tweeted that Saints aren't interested in Sharp or Maynard. I'm not particularly surprised by this. Sharp fell through in the summer so unless Sharp comes back and says he has changed I can't see any reason for the club to go back to Sharp. As for Maynard, they are probably expecting him to go elsewhere with a Prem club more likely.
  3. He's the most likely though. Maynard will want to sign for a Prem team and QPR will offer him more money than us. Sharp couldn't agree to come in the summer, so why will he suddenly agree in Jan? Jay-Rod doesn't seem keen on moving south. Rhodes will probably go to a Premiership team if anywhere. Jutkiewicz probably won't attract any bigger tams than Saints and Coventry might have already written off this season and be desperate for the money.
  4. Would he be so keen to come back if we were bottom of the league?
  5. I wasn't saying he is a bad player. I just prefer him on the right. I could be wrong, but I don't think he has scored any more playing up front than he did playing on the right.
  6. I prefer him playing on the right. He seems to work harder there and he's not a natural goalscorer. The chance that came to him in the first half was the kind a natural goalscorer would have put in but he wasn't alert enough and not attacking it like a natural forward.
  7. We'll win 3-1 hat-trick for Rickie, two pens.
  8. Oh dear. The bench was looking very thin for attacking options today.
  9. Much as I hate to overreact, I think it might be the last time he plays for us. It wasn't just the one mistake, he was all over the place today, and you could see the defenders had no confidence in him.
  10. Yeah bit of a nightmare though, isn't it? If I wanted a name on the back, I wouldn't trust them to get it to me before Christmas.
  11. I went to the club shop last week to buy a Saints shirt for my lad only to find they are out of all boys sizes and don't know whether they will have any more in before Christmas. Not very impressive at all, it must be their best selling product before Christmas and they don't have any.
  12. Gutted. Everyone - apart from Adkins, it seems - knows we don't have adequate back up for RL. Please Nicola buy a forward in January.
  13. What do people think of the Bristol City fans putting money on them going up last week? Maybe not so stupid now. I think WHU will definitely go up, so only really two places up for grabs.
  14. Makes sense to me. Get him in now see how he goes and if necessary we can always get someone else in in January.
  15. They might take Doble given he's about as much chance of getting in the first team as I have at the moment. His rather average contribution at Bompey might put them off though. Dickson is the logical one though. seems totally surplus to requirements at the moment and really needs to be playing.
  16. Hardly a ringing endorsement, bit of a strange quote tbh. Doesn't matter, as long as Jack's happy. We probably don't hoof it into the box enough to keep his dad truly happy.
  17. Was a bit disappointing as I like the podcast. Barney Roney was there and he wrote a fairly informed piece about Saints a few weeks ago. I guess the comment about "mysterious foreign owners" is just about passable because our current owners are fairly low-key and faceless. I'm not sure I would recognise any of the Liebherr family yet obviously Markus was a lot higher profile. However, I don't really know when journos say things like we have "only used 15 players so far this season" when off the top of my head I came up with 18.
  18. Is Jc not a booking away from suspension? May have had a bearing in NA's mind as he probably knew there would be bookings on Tuesday, especially given the track record of the ref.
  19. Very, very good despite the stick he's received on this board this year.
  20. I'd like to think NA knows what he's doing. SPiderman does pretty much sit in front of the back four so it does give us a bit more security. He sees the players every day so he might just have seen that DH needed a rest.
  21. I don't think it's that ridiculous. It's within spitting distance of the main stadium. If they had the youth games at 12 on a Saturday and made it free for anyone with a ST or ticket for the maingame, I reckon a lot of fans would go. I wouldn't be surprised if they filled it TBH.
  22. The only thing was when Chaplow got a chance you just thought "hit row HH" and it went gently to the keeper. Memories of that Bent goal all those years ago came flooding back.
  23. Good to see the first team showing an interest in the U-21s. I may be totally wrong here, but I can't imagine big Prem stars like Tevez, Nasri, etc. giving a stuff about their U-21s.
  24. I thought he was fine. I liked the way he always wanted the ball and not too many passes went astray. I think he will be good against the bigger forwards in this division like Miller and Carlton Cole. I'm not so sure against the likes of Maynard and Earnshaw though.

God I hate West Ham and their porn money. Gold and Sullivan complained so much when they took over about how bad the finances were there, so their answer: just throw loads more money at it. I hope they don't go up and end up in administration. It's the least they deserve.
