I remember quite vividly the anti Dalgliesh feeling towards the end of his reign - the problem he had was following the success before him with Fagan etc. He was not popular was my point really.
-
Please no...how many idols at clubs then get their reputation dragged to the gutter by taking over as manager. Hoddle at Spurs, Shearer currently at Newcastle, Dalgliesh at Liverpool, Souness..... I have no issue with Matt on the board as his knowledge of the club is of great use but please not as manager.

MLT on SSN confirmation of Consortium involvment
Give it to Ron replied to Griffo's topic in The Saints
Yep agreed, you have to work with the players you have..21 used in 5 games and going by yesterday they are rubbish. Ok Liverpool were awesome but my daughters team defend better than Newcastle. You organise and build from the back, get people attacking the ball but they do neither. A good manager would have that as first priority. One shot in the whole game..off target. Boothroyd, Cotterill or Pardew for me all experienced and no point in wasting money in compensation to other clubs managers. -
MLT on SSN confirmation of Consortium involvment

Do you know if there is a timeline for when the offer has to be answered by or how long Fry will wait for other offers. -
A very good game to watch, we looked in real trouble at 123-5 but then Benham and Pothas dug in - full marks to Pothas who stayed out there with a runner for about the last 5 overs keeping Benham going. Some great Hampshire fielding saw us take wickets at vital times when Leics were starting to get going. Billy Taylor bowled and fielded superbly with a great catch as well. 47 run win looks comfortable but there were some worrying times. We have some very good youngsters coming through.

When we appoint someone that is good enough to do the job. When we have a Chairman/board that doesnt interfere and can get someone to stay here long enough. Gray Dodd/Gorman Poortvliet Wotte Not good enough IMO. Souness Hoddle Burley Strachan All left and were backed by the fans. Sturrock "sacked/mutual agreement" and was backed by the fans again. Only Branflake wasn't and there was a bloody good reason for that.

Reverse psychology ;-)
-
Well he has to try and justify his position and cling on to his job. Who else would employ him? Certainly no-one in the UK. His record at other clubs is not one to impress either.
-
My money is on no bids and eventual liquidation. If Salz was in a consortium or brokering a deal then it would of been tabled by now as they were far in advance of any others with the inside knowledge they had. He has not made a bid so I think he is a non starter. Morph is a teaser. The 2 Guernsey chancers will be laughed away. I have not seen anything written apart from this board about Souness interested. I hope I am wrong but we have been on a downward spiral for 5 years and tailspins normally end up with big crashes.

No we can't...XXXXXX offff Sorry is this a 5 minute arguement or a 10 minute one...for us oldies. No probs Euro just a bit tetchy with all this admin stuff and no buyer yet.
-
You were the one that started making this personal...."get over yourself ffs". I used the term "we" meaning Saints fans because thats what we are on this forum. The post was on a Saints forum meaning we - not me or you as you took this so personal. Please explain the hypocritical bit....all I am saying is that I hate it when clubs go into admin and should be helped in this climate not punished and the fact that they start with -10 points is a further hindurance to them. Euro I accept that post in the fact you were glad it wasn't just us but again clubs need help.
-
So the OP putting great news in the first thread says what then...jeesh try reading threads before jumping and making yourself look a total arse!
-
Sorry I cant rejoice in another clubs problems. Football is in a mess an the sooner the big 4 bugger off to a super league the better. There are many threads complaining what Norwich, Forest, Luton wrote about our demise and here (some) are doing the same.
-
It may well be worth getting a ST to ensure you get an away ticket next season. There are quite a few grounds that will only let us have a few tickets....Brighton as an example.
-
If Lowe was on his own no need but he is not rich enough to do this so would be part of a consortium who may wish to all see for themselves what state the clubs is in. If you are investing millions would you trust anyone.....good question though. PS Edit Oh bugger it just dawned on me....why the two just want to pay cash the with out DD! It took a while D'oh
-
We need to have a club and know which division we are in first!
-
But its not petty bickering anymore for me, Lowe this season has proved he is incapable of running this club. Every action he has taken has been the wrong one IMO. Look at how we have used the loan market as an example. Can you honestly name me one decision he has got right since coming back? He has overseen 2 relegations, totally divided the fan base by his actions, had more managers than Cynthia Payne - none his fault, seen a massive drop in customer base and revenue and assisted with us going into administration. He is not totally at fault and there is massive blame for Wilde's actions who I hold in far greater contempt. This club needs a new broom with no baggage from the past - how can anyone trust Lowe to get us on the right track with his history and experience at Saints? I do not and will not support him with my money any longer.
-
Sorry I was going to ask this yesterday but had to go plan some coaching sessions. This consortium must of had the cash to be allowed to do due diligence so why pull out now? If they had signed an NDA as have all parties how do they know the others are better placed? If the club have not received any other offers then surely they are in at least the best position to buy the club even if that offer is the only one to buy it? Dont read this as aggresive questions just that you got me wondering why they pulled out.
-
We already have one of those though.....look how good a decision that was.
-
Plus everyone is ignoring the fact that we would need to pay compensation....do we really need to waste money doing that on a manager that hasn't cut his teeth in League 1 yet?
