  1. Ras never played for Pearson, so there's no reason for that to be the case.
  2. Damn straight! Can't we close the Chapel instead? I'm sure that would save more on stewarding than the corners as we'd need less catering staff and people on the turnstyles. Whilst I'm not promoting staff being laid off, if costs MUST be cut...
  3. I know it's only words and there's a long way to go yet, but I can't help but smile having read that. Great to see someone on the board with no axe to grind and who puts the best interests of the club first. I've no idea who this bloke is, but I'm sure Matt would never be associated with bullsh*tters. I'm actually looking forward to next season. I just hope these guys make the right decision manager wise, and then back him to the hilt.
  4. I can only get the Scottish Cup up here. Rangers currently 1-0 up against the mighty Falkirk.
  5. Can't honnestly say I'm that bothered about it. I know the old "If you've got nothing to hide, you've got nothing to worry about" is a cliche, but I think it pretty much sums up my feelings on this one. The Police monitoring what I do in my personal life would be an issue, but I don't give a sh*t about them knowing I drove down the A34 once in November. Thousands of motorist probably saw me, I'm really not that fussed about 1 more watching on a CCTV screne hundreds of miles away.
  6. Arizona

    A-Z

Appart from McQ and Yahia, I don't think there are any more. Redknapp tried to sign Abel Xavier at one point, probably the nearest you're going to get to X.
  7. Which reminds me, Gregory Vignal is available on a free and CDAJFU. Decent LB and could take a mean penalty, unlike the 3 muppets who've tried this season. DMG - Scored 3 from 5 Surman - Scored 2 from 3? Not sure on that one. Wotton - Scored 0 from 1
  8. Not being on the same side of Hadrians wall as Southampton, I don't know who these people are. From the title I thought it was Chris Perry and SCW.
  9. Ostlund was one of those marmite players, like Prutton, Skacel, Saganowski and Wright. I thought he was a decent player, although I'm sure many will disagree strongly. Yes JPS was a bit rash at times, but with that midfield and Perry's tectonic plate speed, he had to make his fair share of last ditch tackles. When you think we've been playing the likes of early bath Ollie Lancashire this season, I think we need him. Thinking about it, I'd actually play him and Thomas in the middle, with Perry possibly at RB.
  10. I am an expert and I would keep JPS but not Euell and BWP. I agree with that back four with the exception of James. I'd play him in midfield and get a proper right back, which we haven't had (aside from Ostlund) for 5 years.
  11. Ilmor was derived from the names of Mario Illien and Paul Morgan who created the engines originally. Morgan died c2002 IIRC which I think put the brakes on the Ilmor opperation. Could be wrong.
  12. Don't be so hard on yourself. Personally I'd keep Davis and tell BWP and Euell to f**k off. We moaned about Saga not scoring last season, I swear he got more goals than these two put together. Euell has been living off 5 decent games a season he maintain credibility since he got here. BWP is too old to have "potential" IMO. He still cannot comprehend the offside rule, not falling over or finishing a 1-on-1.
  13. IIRC this was when we still had the 107% rule in qualifying and the Lolas couldn't get within 2 days of it in practice, so didin't bother to turn up for qualy and were never seen again. Not entirely sure, I'm sure a quick Google will give you more precise info. And yes, I have Tyrell, Lotus and Brabham back too. And Arrows. Too all the moaners saying that's too many cars, we just have to bring in larger tracks, like the old Nurburg, old Hockenheim and this beast in Argentina... Even more good news, I heard a rumour the Hungarian GP is threatening to pull out.
  14. Aston Martin/Prodrive have submitted an entry for the 2010 season along with Lola (remember them from Friday practice in Oz '97 ), USF1 (possibly with Danica Patrick) and Litespeed (them again ) More good news, all the current F1 teams, including Toyota, have submitted entries for next season it would seem. Apparently this is conditional, although I'm not sure what the conditions are. A 28 car grid, W00T. We just need Jaguar, Minardi and Jordan back now.
  15. Ah, you got Andriy Rusol from Dnipro. I always sign that guy.
  16. I agree with you in principle Chez. I hope we keep players like Lallana, Surman and DMG. However if someone were to come in with a decent offer (I'd say £1m for the first two, £500k for DMG) I'd probably take it. I reckon a shrewd manager could get a couple of decent midfielders, a couple of experienced defenders and a striker who could get us a few goals next season. For all the moaning about Saga's drought at the end of last season, 6 goals from open play only puts him behind DMG. If selling Surman for £1m means we can sign Saeijs for £500k then I'd take that. I don't think Wotte is the right manager, but that's a different thread.
  17. Surely an ancient NHS A&E ward would be more appropriate?
  18. I'd rate Surman as probably the best assest in our current squad, but TBH I'd take £1m for any of them.
  19. Alexandrs Cauna - Skonto Riga (scored against us on loan at Watford) Oskars Klava - Metalurgs Leipaja Keep up Tolix.
  20. Stop signing players from Metalurgs Leipaja.
  21. 'The Big Four' have now been losing finalists for the last 4 years. Arsenal in '06, then Liverpool, Chelsea last year and now Man Utd. Must have been heartbreaking for them.
  22. The problem with trade embargos is again, China. N. Korea has very little trade with the west because they are so unpopular, so trade embargoes from us is something of an empty threat. Even if China were to agree and sever their somewhat patchy trading ties, I think the suffering would be passed on to the already suffering citizens of N. Korea, rather than having any effect on the government. Striking similarities with Zimbabwe in that sense.
  23. TBF a lot of those council estates are quite tall.
  24. I think he is generally a decent player. Tonight though Man Utd could have had Maradonna up front, but their attacks never got going enough for the strikers to make a difference.
  25. @ Ronaldo. I can't imagine the bruises on his ego right now. Losing the CL final AND being completely upstages by Messi in the process. Also looked like even more of a petulant tw*t than usual. I was p*ssed off when his penalty miss in last years shoot out didn't cost Utd the title.
