I think having Lowe was a -20 penalty on any season. I certainly reckon we'd be 20 points better off if we'd gone with the Pearson/Saga/Rasiak policy at the start of the season instead of the Portaloo/Wotte/Pulis/Gasmi/Schneiderlin/Forecast/Smith/Robertson/Pekhart policy. IF we get some half decent investment, I'd be looking forward to next season a damn sight more than I did this one.

I think last year was the first time in a while. We certainly didn't in 2005/6 when we had Marian's farewell.

Well this is only going to end in one place.

The "we want Mark Fry as chairman" thread
Arizona replied to DrZuess1979 the 2nd's topic in The Saints
Has it really come to this. The 'Grim reaper' of our football club is more popular than any of the boardroom, coaching staff and most of the players... -
1. In the years following our move, we reached the cup final, finished 8th in the League, had a short excursion into europe and got 2 players in the England squad. How is that going downhill? 2. Our decline since then is nothing to do with the stadium. It was poor management at boardroom level, which lead to poor performance on the pitch. Pure and simple. 3. Why wouldn't we be able to play at SMS just because we don't own it?

Reasons why you have not bought a ticket for Saturday

Location is my excuse too, but I am driving down for the Forest game. Looking forward to seeing it in a strange, Christians being fed to the Lions, kinda way. -
A skate goalie is running the club. Now that is scary.

I really don't get this logic of anyone who wants out is lazy and doesn't give a sh*t. If there's anything you can't fault Saga for, it's his effort. Even after being treated terribly by Burley last season, then shipped out on loan to save cash, he has ALWAYS got his head down and put 100% into the team. Even if we are hopeless and he doesn't get a sniff of a goal for weeks. That's what I admire about him, more than his goals. Lets not kid ourselves, EVERYONE wants off this ship. The fact that Saga is the first one rumoured to be off doesn't mean he cares the least, just that other clubs want him most. The guy is playing and sometimes scoring for a very respectable national team, he's not going to stick around in the 3rd League of English football. All our players will have been on the blower to their agents this afternoon saying "get me the f*ck out of here." Even our home grown favourites like Surman.

No planning pitch invasions. Ta.

Niemi was the last goalie to win it in 2003/4. Saga got goal of the season too. Sensational goal against PNE, wish I'd been there.

You can get arrested for that.

League deduct 10 Points - Will apply in L1 Next Season
Arizona replied to Danny's topic in The Saints
So now the players are effectively playing to prevent a 10 points deduction at the start of next season, when most of them wont be here. Fantastic motivation for the last 2 games... -
I'm not so sure people will be in for him. On the face of it, a young English striker with 13 goals in a struggling team isn't bad, but when you scratch the surface a bit you can see: 13 goals... 1 was Lallana's really (Derby) David said so himself 2 were in the League Cup against L2 strugglers Exeter 3 Penalties (think it was 3) That leaves 7 league goals in nigh-on 50 games. Really not that impressive, especially when you consider he brings so little else to the team. I reckon we could find someone as effective in L1 if he does leave.

Yep. All sounds fair enough. Saga is a very frustrating player to have. When there is a decent team around him, there is none better in this League IMO. In 2006/7 when we had the likes of Bale, Belmadi, Skacel, Guthrie and Kenny in the team, he scored some of the best goals I have seen in the CCC. But when the team is playing badly, he is as you say dreadful. Sadly, it looks like dread is going to become the norm if we still have a team next year. Perhaps it is best for him if he does move on. He will only get more critics here. I always wondered what a Rasiak and Saga partnershipcould do given time. Saga has the effort, Rasiak has the aerial presence. Neither is a brick outhouse, but if we played the ball into their feet, they'd have scored for fun IMO. DMG really needs a Strachan or Pearson type manager to get his a*se in gear. JP was just far too much of a laidback yes-man. Maybe in League 1 he can do a Fryatt, I guess it depends who the manager is.
-
Well, going by the games I have seen this year (about 10 of them) DMG is the laziest player to pull on a Saints shirt since MLT. It's only because I listen to some of the "other morons on this site" that I know he has put in a bit of effort in a couple of recent games.
-
That's sort of my point. DMG may have scored more goals, but he has played in almost every minute of every game this season. I suspect Saga wouuld have scored a lot of the chances DMG and Robertson missed in the first half of the season. In recent games yes DMG has scored more, but who's to say that will continue. He has a habbit of scoring a couple, then going months without scoring, just like Saga can.
-
Agreed the effort used to be there from Saga but the last few months hes been shocking and lazy too. Mcgoldrick has started to improve and I think he will get better he will certainly be a key player in league one if hes still here. Strikers are judged on goals at the end of the day, Saga is the naturally more talented player yet hasnt been scoring to any degree of consistancy. so you have to say that Mcgoldrick has done very well with a lesser talent. I dont mind how lazy you are if you do that one bit of skill to score, raziak being the prime example This season Saga has infact scored more regularly than DMG. Saga - 6 goals - 18 games - Scores 1 goal every 3 games DMG - 12 goals - 48 games - Scores 1 goal every 4 games DMG is just as guilty of long scoring droughts. Between 2nd November and 23rd March he scored 1 goal from open play (and 1 pen, which anyone could have taken). 1 goal in nigh on 5 months...

None of our strikers are going to look good in front of our midfield. Surman - Just has no confidence at all Lallana - Has had one good game since September Schneiderlin - Has been just awful since he joined and doesn't want to be here Wotton - Old clogger. Don't expect any defence splitting passes out of him World Class Ryan Smith - I'd rather bring back Paul Smith in midfield Arjen Robben - Has been injured for as long as Lallana has been underperforming Gillett - Is injured DMG - Will create the odd goal for himself, but when it comes to effort and bringing others into the game... Tell me where the goals are supposed to come from in this team if nobody can pass to the strikers? I think the fact that Euell, BWP and Saga can't score says more about the midfield than any of them in particular. Mr X - DMG showing more fight for the cause? :-s Over the course of the season, DMG has been the laziest player in our squad. Saga may be struggling to score, but he still puts 100% into every game.

One way of doing it. Flying that piece of crap so low over a built up area perhaps not the cleverest idea.

No. Don't go back to Goldeneye, because it wont be the same. Especially after playing modern FPSs with superior graphics and gameplay. It's like meeting your childhood heros. Don't do it, just keep the memories.
