I don't doubt for a minute that Arsenal, Man Utd etc were after him, they definitely scouted him and probably put in an enquiry to the club, but I don't think that the talks were as advanced as the papers let on. The clubs will have sent a couple of scouts to watch him at a few games and then maybe spoken briefly to NC and been rebuffed by a £10m asking price for a 17 year-old untested above L1 level.

Morgan was our best player today - no doubt. Unfair on Lambert and Barney as they were marked out of the game and never given the space to do anything. Our game was run from midfield, and then ran it well.

Refs were told to protect flair players in the World Cup - would not be surprised at all if English league and cup refs were told to protect players at bigger clubs. Yeah, we needed pace up front today which we didn't have. Guly's passing was getting criticised but if our strikers had that extra yard then they would have been perfectly played. Need a quick striker who is composed on the ball and knows where the net is....Hernandez anyone?

The Utd fans were a bunch of c*nts - pushing over female stewards because you equalised against a L1 team? Bunch of mongs. Very proud tonight, we were excellent in the first half. Nani came on and changed the game - he is absolutely class. Dickson had a bit of a mare when he came on but everyone else was great and should be very proud of themselves tonight, Chaplow and Schneiderlin especially. Solent blasting NA's approach to Oxo today, playing him on the left and then in the hole. I don't agree. No other way we could've gone except for starting N'Guessan but that's a big ask in his debut to play against Man Utd... Out of the cup, but really positive about the league now. COYR!

ITV's football coverage is f*cking shocking, but as we're playing Man Utd we'll probably get about 20 minutes of highlights compared to our usual 20 seconds.

Heard rumblings about us getting a loan in from Man Utd - talks between the clubs today. My money is on Joshua King, a rapid forward who was on loan at Preston until Fergie Jr got sacked.

FB and MLT are legends, no doubt about it, but I wish they'd keep their personal disputes with Cortese private rather than giving the media another chance to have a pop at the club. Why go on international TV and start talking about a legal case that nobody knows about except you and another person?

Allow me to be controversial, but i'm looking forward to today's game. A glamour tie against one of the world's best sides (albeit their reserve team - still could compete in Prem!) makes a refreshing change from us playing the likes of Tranmere, Hartlepool and Oldham. It'll be great to see SMS rocking again today, and a good performance will tempt back fans who haven't been coming as much recently, leading to higher attendances and gate receipts. While the league is infinitely more important than any of the cups, you get 46 league games in a season but rarely do special games like this come along. The last time we played Man Utd (FA Cup 3rd Rnd in our CCC relegation season) our club was in tatters, the playing squad wasn't half as good as the one we have now and we weren't sure whether we'd even have a team to support come next season. But we're in a fantastic position now to prove a point to those who had counted us down and out when we dropped into L1, and with enough confidence and passion we can go out there and get a result which will shock a fair few people in the world. So enough negativity and lets just be Saints FANS and cheer on our lads! COYR [/cheesy]
