  1. Football Manager 2014 says that Bill Green is our Chief Scout - and MLG is never wrong.
  2. Clyne and Richards are the best English right-backs at the moment.
  3. I've embraced the Italian player philosophy in my game with Saints, I simmed it for a full season (Saints finished 13th) and took over at the end of May. Stoke, Sunderland and Hull went down and most of their squads were up for sale, so I managed to pick up some good players on the cheap. Currently 3rd going into Christmas. INS Asmir Begovic (GK, Stoke) - 8m Ryan Shawcross (CB, Stoke) - 10m Etienne Capoue (DM, Spurs) - 3m Eduardo Salvio (LW, Benfica) - Loan 10m fee Manolo Gabbiadini (ST, Sampdoria) - 11.75m Antonio Candreva (RW, Lazio) - Free OUTS Most of the sh*tty youth and fringe players on frees Steven Davis (Hull) - 1.8m Kelvin Davis (Charlton) - Free Danny Fox (Brum) - 675k Jos Hooiveld (VVV) - 250k Jason Puncheon (Wolves) - Free Billy Sharp (Rangers) - Free Tadanari Lee (Preston lol) - Free Gaston Ramirez (Man City) - 25m!!!! As Saints had the wisdom to sell Morgan in the first window for £11m to Spurs, this is the team i'm playing now: ----------------BEGOVIC-------------- CLYNE---S'CROSS-----LOVREN----SHAW ----------CAPOUE----WANYAMA------- OSVALDO------CANDREVA-------SALVIO ---------------GABBIADINI------------- Subs: Chambers, Yoshida, Cork, Ward-Prowse, Dorrans, Lallana, Lambert
  4. GK: Hart, Forster, Ruddy RB: Walker, Clyne LB: Baines, Shaw/Cole (depending on form) CB: Cahill, Jagielka, Shawcross, Caulker CM: Gerrard, Wilshere, Milner, Barkley, Lampard FW: Walcott, Townsend, Chamberlain, Lallana ST: Rooney, Sturridge, Lambert Standby: Alex McCarthy, Micah Richards, Phil Jones, Jake Livermore, Michael Carrick, Aaron Lennon, Raheem Sterling, Saido Berahino Starting XI: ------------------HART------------------ WALKER----CAHILL----JAGIELKA----BAINES ----------------GERRARD----------------- -------WILSHERE--------BARKLEY--------- WALCOTT-------ROONEY-------STURRIDGE Should be good enough for QFs, lack a proper striker though as Rooney is best playing off somebody. Enough pace and power in the midfield to dominate more technically accomplished teams, with some creative players in there too. The most important thing about this WC is doing okay but also integrating the next generation of players into the squad. Nothing too radical, but there needs to be a shift away from the likes of Gerrard/Lampard towards Barkley/Wilshere.
  5. Are you sure your brain age was 50, or was it 500?
  6. Getting back on topic, my brain age is 41. I'm 22 in 3 weeks
  7. He keeps a close watch on your number 9 He keeps his eyes wide open all the time He'll dispossess you 'fore you blink your eye Nathaniel Clyne Nathaniel Clyne Quite frankly, i'm ashamed to have written those lyrics.
  8. We're looking around 5/1 to finish Top 6 as well, might be tempted to lay a few quid on that.
  9. True, but I think he's looked his best for us cutting in off the right flank. West Ham and Spurs last season stand out for me. Lacazette will be a hell of a player though, and the first move in this video is the kind of thing we put together every week! Having a pacy finisher to get on the end of little one-twos would make us so much more potent going forward, although we're pretty solid as it is! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfjaG47hbzQ
  10. If we get rid of Gaston in the window I would like us to sign a wide player with pace to burn. Mayuka fits that description but I still have my doubts over him being cut out for this level. Somebody like Lacazette would be perfect I think.
  11. She did very well, the lino on the Itchen side however was a different matter...
  12. Green - 67% Labour - 22% Tory - 11% Interesting that.
  13. At first glance I thought you called me lardy, and I did a sad face
  14. Personally I just think that Pap's a tiny bit racist towards the Fresh Prince.
  15. @Macdoodle is Cortese's personal account I hear, you'd never know unless you heard what I have..
  16. I hope they stay open, I miss the Alfred. Drink in the Kingsland round the corner instead now but it's not a patch on the atmosphere and buzz you used to get in the KA.
  17. No, he's presenting a 40 minute lecture on what an Enganche is, and how we can use it effectively in a staggered 4231 formation.
  18. I have family from Malmo, and keep an eye on the team there for the connection. I have to say, i'm not entirely sure if he's ready for the Prem, as the Swedish league isn't blessed with a huge amount of quality and it might take him a while to adapt. Having said that, the lad is talented and will be a very good player one day. Another bonus is that he's left-footed, which would allow Dejan to play on his favoured right side. He was, as the scouting article says, lucky to play alongside Daniel Andersson at Malmo, as he's vastly experienced and one of the most intelligent defenders i've seen play. If we can get him for a good price, I say we go for it! If anything he'll make a good replacement for Jos when his contract's up in the summer.

    Boruc

You could see when they plotted the bounce on MOTD where that ball was originally going to bounce again (penalty spot-ish), but the wind just caught it and put it well over Artur's head. I'm not going to judge him on it, he's still a quality keeper, and the reaction of other goalies (Begovic, Foster etc.) pretty much confirms that he's not at fault at all and it was a freak coincidence. One Artur Boruc!
  20. Is it coincidence that the biggest WUMs on the board post on the match thread every week? Don't get to many games you lot eh?
  21. 18th - Stoke 19th - Sunderland 20th - Palace Feels weird to agree with Glasgow Saint on something... Stoke are a decent team but they're lacking an out-and-out goalscorer. Watch them spend heavily in January on a flop!
  22. He's not just inconsistent, he's incredibly inconsistent. Most games he'll make a couple of nice passes or touches but then be absent for the other 89 minutes (or 59 minutes more aptly). I've seen him have a couple of barnstorming games for us, but I saw Lee Barnard and Marek Saganowski have some amazing games too. He is 22 so should be given a bit of benefit of doubt, but I can't see him "making it" with us. Maybe the Turkish league will be a better fit for him, although god knows he'd get the living sh!t kicked out of him every match!
  23. Good job! I'm gonna catch them when they're on the big tour instead..
