  1. This x 1000000. We haven't changed our playing style to suite not having a big man up top. Cross after cross goes in and there's nobody there to get near them...
  2. My mate was a Saints youth and mentioned the name of the guy who he is certain is the chap involved. Luckily for libel reasons I got so ****faced I can't remember it
  3. When was the last time we sold a player in January? He'll stay until the summer and we should ask for 100m
  4. This times a million.
  5. I so wish he had driven it into the box and had a shot! Would have been Michael Owen England debut-esque
  6. The first post on that thread - the preview, is ****ing brilliant "In goal should see Forster, who, once freed from the Phantom Zone split with Ursula and General Zod to concentrate on playing in goals. Van Dyke plugs the defence? It was either that or something about Flemish Virgin Lesbians?? while Fonte partners him in fashion with matching opposite Sleeve tattoos. Equally as Portuguese, Soares could be at right back with that kid who always moved schools, had pubes before anyone, smoked Winnie reds in the dunnies and could bag the girl you always fancied Bertrand on the left. The much maligned Steven Davis, another ex Chelsea human trafficking commodity Oriel Romeu and ex Bayern Munich Vunderbar Ubermensch Hjolberg could play in the middle with Charles Austin Esquire up top. Some guy called Club Record Signing Boufal and ex- Norwich Kid 'n' Play coiffed Nathan Redmond could be on the wings. The Saints frontline cost about as much as a Bolasie and this Boufal character looks kind of tiny. From reports Pint Sized Club Record Signing Boufal looked disinterested against FC Big Stand, failing to link up with Austin and you might see the once coveted Tadic move in on his spot. Their tops also look slightly crappy this year. You could in truth see any number of the Saints squad for this fixture, they have a European game on Thursday night against Sparta and in the previous round against them beat Swansea the following weekend. They have had some tough fixtures in the opening rounds this season, and will be looking towards moving up the table before Christmas. Never an easy game, and what sad and sorry eleven will we be hoping to produce a reverse to our smelly run of poor form you ask?" Worth a look for the picture of a young thin Terry Hurlock and a young fat MLT. Back to the game, brilliant. We should have scored at least 2 more and soaked up the Everton pressure well. Yes, they had a couple of good chances but only 1 shot on target and that was in the last 10 minutes which says a lot. If we can avoid our usual December / Jan holidays and pick up more points than we did last year we'll finish top half and it's so congested again that could mean anything. Clearly we need better finishing. Sims was a revelation and the best debut I think since Oxlade Chamberlein.
  7. His sister was at Uni in Southampton as I met her the night we beat Man U 6-3 (she was with her boyfriend who was a mate of Claus's). Amusingly she was introduced as Jostein Flo's sister as Tore Andre was pretty much unknown then. Anyway, there was therefore a little connection to Southampton as NI Saint says, Souness did want him.
  8. I didn't. got offered a big 5 partnership and turned them down, mainly because they are c u n t s in my experience
  9. Quite. It's just an attention seeing load of old BS from one of the original trolling cockends
  10. It's been a few years since big Les has played a game but I agree he can't be much worse than Clasie
  11. I mean the dodgy backstreet knock off shop in Penang that made it took a red and white striped shirt, saw the sponsor, and sowed a Sheffield Wednesday badge on it :-). They did indeed play in blue and white. Those were the days, both Sheffield Clubs in the Prem etc.
  12. I think so - it's the season of Dellhurst Park and Pahars dragging us out of the crap. 2-0 against somebody to stay up wasn't it? I was in Penang in Malaysia and listened to the last 10 minutes over a mobile phone when my mum rang me from the Dell. Cracked open a beer at 4am or whatever it was to celebrate . Malaysian TV made a big deal about us taking 12k to Wimbledon on the highlight show the day before and I felt it felt inevitable that we would win on the final day. Sheffield Wednesday had to win or draw for us to stay up as well didn't they? I'd found a red and white striped saints shirt in the market that day with a Wednesday badge (as we were both sponsored by Sanderson) so I bought it (for 50p) as a good luck charm
  13. I was there, and I'm in the video (grabbing Egil as he runs past for the 3rd goal). As I've posted on here before, sold my shirt to Claus in the queue to New York New York so his mate could get in, then bought somebody elses and ended up partying the night away with the players + other hangers on. Was an epic epic day. Made the 3-1 grey shirts one as well, watched the 1-0 in London as I'd moved there and was the only Saints fan in the pub. Was awesome

  16. Same plane :-). Feels like the bus from the station to St Marys :-)
  17. we were all 12 once
  18. indeed it is. most of our money comes from trading as a part of the single market. in fact a very large % comes from London financial services. if we lose access to that market, and in particular access to passporting for clearing houses then we won't have the money to share out for the farmers, nhs etc... as per my previous post, this needs to be well negotiated. as somebody who has built a number of multi-million £ businesses from scratch one of my frustrations with people is assuming "they" can fix it and "we" can spend that money, not understanding the personal effort and numerous small things that are important to success. ironically I'm now saying that "they" can negotiate it. i'd offer my services but I'm too busy getting fat and playing golf. cockend
  19. Have you worked in Italy and France? I have - this is a classic fallacy of the small minded "we're better than everybody else" little Englander. The French work a very different shift from the UK - get in late, have a long lunch, but where I worked the working day didn't really finish until 8pm. Italy (Milan - Gucci) was also a place where everybody worked very very hard, and their industrial output is testament to that (reason they have the biggest shipyards in Europe perchance). Both economies have structural problems - France in particular has terrible labour laws that as a business owner made it very difficult to hire and fire, and also is very protectionist (so ironically we will become more like them). As productivity is a measure based on currency and hours worked, the tanking of the £ means our productivity will go down I'd suggest. I'm finding this thread very very amusing and tragic to be honest. The hard leavers desperation to say that everything will be fine, when even the leave camp during the referendum said there would be an economic shock is amusing. Face it, there are a few years of hardship for the poor on the horizon, especially if we leave the single market, as world markets assume open trade to be a good thing. Ditto, the hard remainers desperation to see the UK fail is pretty sad. I was a remainer and my big worry was for the kids future in a closed off, increasingly illiberal UK (well England & Wales as I suspect the Scots are off) - but surely we all want to live in a successful economy? Best thing for us now is to remove anybody making emotional bull**** arguments (Davis, Fox, Tusk, Hollande) from the negotiations, bung it to the boring people, and let them thrash out the compromise. Saddest thing overall is the failure of the political class in all of this, but then what do they ever bring to a country. They are all a bunch of jumped up student debating society, local council, never had a job arseholes who don't understand what it takes to add value (jobs, money, taxes) to a country other than from reading it in books. ******s
  20. Most shots by ANY team this season in the EPL. Great 2nd half. Redmond had a great gane as did McQueen for his PL debut. Felt for J-Rod with that chance at the end. COYR
  21. Hamstring. That'll be 6 weeks of Matty Target then
  22. good, we need to get on with doing just that to have some certainty
  23. Not to have a go at JWP but I couldn't help thinking his chance near the end was almost exactly the same as Hesketh's chance he took against Palace. Still would have taken a point at 2.15 and 6 clean sheets is brilliant, keep that up and we'll be in Europe again

Never go for a drink with Craig David on a Tuesday unless you have a free calendar and an open mind. (He did distance himself a bit from us when we dropped into League One, saying he also supported Arsenal or something like that - like about 40 other people I know to be fair)
  25. No joke Dalek, this team reminds me of how Hoddle's Saints played football - tight at the back and go for a 1-0. Maybe we have the French Hoddle, both played at Monaco as well.
