  1. Looking at the table, unfortunately it now looks like a straight shootout between: Sheff Utd (pretty much down) WBA (pretty much down) Fulham Newcastle Brighton Burnley Saints Unbelievable after the start of the season that we are grouping Saints in with the rest but I truly think there is a danger we could get dragged in as we are absolutely terrible and even if we only need 2 wins where are they coming from? We have had 14 opportunities to get a win and have 1 in that time. And we have 12 games left. If we don;t have the points on the board in the next 5-6 games we are in real trouble.
  2. If anyone doesn;t think we haven't sleep walked into trouble I pity them. 1 win in 14 and what, 7 points? We should be OK but difficult to see where goals are coming from (how many goals scored in the last 14, less than the 7 points I am sure?) and we have a gutless team with a manager who is too stubborn to change it up. Seriously, what was the point of bringing Watts on after 88 minutes and leaving the indescribably hopeless Redmond on for the previous 87? Thank god we had the points on the board early - without that start we'd be down with Sheffield Utd.
  3. Serious questions have to start being asked of the manager now. There were only 2 players out from the corresponding home fixture (KWP and Romeu) so to blame injuries is disingenuous at best. You have a RB on the bench and play a CB at RB. You have 2 or 3 young CMs on the bench and play Armstrong out of position. You have Tella, who has looked far more promising than Redmond or Adams, left on the bench. You have a cowardly team playing as poorly as under Pellegrino and Hughes with no attacking verve and yet no mixing it up with changes in tactics or intent. Imagine the outrage, rightly, if those 2 clowns had us playing like we are now? 1 win in 14 says it all - clueless.
  4. What an embarrassment our refs are! Mason is atrocious
  5. Watching Fulham completely outplay Everton today and one Harrison Reed looking outstanding, is it time to start nervously looking at the table as Fulham look a pretty good team, and have done for some time? Their finishing has held them back (like Saints) but they look very good today. Obviously the answer to the original question is 'no' but I'm sure plenty on here will say 'yes'. 35 points is probably enough this year which means 6 points from our final 15 games. That being said I predict 0 points from our next 3 with the way we are playing. Just hope Forster comes back in goal and gives some confidence and stability to the back line. We overachieved at the start of the season and are now underachieving. But it does look like we will struggle to match our points tally last season.
  6. Wasn;t that good. He was utter s***e
  7. More concerning, for me, than the losses is the complete lack of creativity in the side. SO slow in possession, no movement and the final ball is shocking. Add in every decision seeming to go against us and confidence must be rock bottom. Difficult to see where the next win is coming from right now but it will - we are not as bad as we appear right now, just as we were not as good as we appeared early in the season. Still on an FA Cup run so all is not lost with this season
  8. Don't be so bloody ridiculous! Ralph has some severe limitations (as we are seeing) but who else would come in and take on this mentally fragile group and get different results? This is a poor team that overachieved for half the season and are now underachieving.
  9. LOL at muppets slating McCarthy for not being better at saving penalties! I don't personally rate him and think Forster should be in there but to blame him for not being better at saving penalties is ridiculous. Take a closer look at Ralph for the blame game. 2nd half we are nearly always terrible and on the back foot. Taking Armstrong off?
  10. The reality is that Ings had a very poor injury record (very unfortunate) at Liverpool, was poor first season for us, outstanding last season and beginning of this season and poor since. You seriously suggesting that a top 4 club will come in for him? If they do, you think he will be a starter?
  11. Who the hell is going to buy him on his current form? Same for Bertrand. Both have been mediocre recently and their body language is appalling.
  12. We have big issues at the club - the players are mentally so weak and our play is so predictable and slow with no cutting edge. Spineless, gutless, pathetic and I donl;t think we would have scored if Newcastle had 6 players on the pitch. Utterly shameful display.
  13. Utterly disgusting, spineless display - Redmond, Bertrand, Stephens, Ings, Bednarek, McCarthy were all beyond awful and an utter disgrace to the club. Bertrand and Ings wanting bumper paydays? They are both awful and have been for months.
  14. This is even more embarrassing than midweek - shameful display from Saints and an utter embarrassment to the club. Where do we go from here? Really starting to question Hassenhuttl - we are slow, ponderous, no plan B and simply not good enough. Shameful, embarrassing and feel sick to my stomach of these spineless tossers.
  15. If Redmond ever plays for Saints again I'll be really disappointed. He's a coward of a player and is incapable of making intelligent decisions
  16. Bertrand is so bad - what on earth has happened to him? No way should be getting a new contract, he's been awful this year.
  17. This is painful to watch against 10 men. Compare how Utd played against 10 men and then look at the slow, ponderous sideways backwards passing. Embarrassing
  18. And forum experts want us to break the bank for Ings and Bertrand? I can see Forster being made #1 GK: that was terrible from both McCarthy and Bertrand. Shocking!
  19. Minamino showing what happens when you have the confidence to take a shot. Rest of the team take note.
  20. Some of you posters should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves for the abuse directed at Jankewitz the other night. Utter cretins who obviously have never made any mistakes in their lives from behind their keyboards. This is why this site is utter s***e these days.
  21. Agreed - fine margins and incompetence of officials is staggering. Having said that, there was an article in The Athletic a couple of weeks back that was telling saying we were overperforming based on some fancy new metric with shots on goal, etc. Aside from tonight I don't think its that we have played really badly, just we seem to lack a real cutting edge.
  22. Lets be honest Saints have been getting progressively poorer since mid-December. We have now scored 2 in 8 games and neither of those were from open play. We have a ton of injuries, disgusting ref/VAR decisions last 2 games but its just not good enough. Teams appear to have sussed us out and we have no Plan B - for all the bad luck, etc. how do you legislate for misses like Adams tonight in what was basically an open goal? We carry little to no threat - Ings has gone off the boil since the bloody contract shenanigans and we are just struggling to score. Its a shame that the season that started with so much promise until mid-December looks like it is going to peter out and we will finish lower half of the table. Our players appear spineless and we have very little real Prem quality.
  23. Bloody hell - incredibly stupid mistake by the lad but really? It is not like we had a bunch of kids out there tonight. The senior pros needed to step up to the plate and just like Leicester went MIA. Yes the ref and VAR were appalling but some of the defending was disgusting. Add in the 'messiah' Ings who has been as poor as the rest since his last injury and yet the young lad cops a ton of abuse. Ralph has to take some of the blame - we have been powder puff for 9 or 10 games now yet our tactics never change. Other teams have worked out to play us and we don;t seem to possess a PLan B
  24. No - we gave Long a 2 year contract extension and look how that turned out. Theo provided a brief spark but has really fizzled out and his decision making is atrocious. If it was a 1 year deal and greatly reduced wages maybe, but he really doesn't seem to offer us much other than running around a lot - there's lots of similarities with Long, namely great guy, runs around a lot and couldn;t hit a barn door when shooting.
  25. Gives a chance to Alexandre Jankewitz - see if he is good as he was once touted to be and whether he can make a stake to a 1st team place. Although recent weeks have been a huge disappointment we have a ton of injuries and need to develop a Plan B. The flipside is that we have beaten Liverpool and Arsenal and are no pushovers despite injuries. Also gives some of the younger players a chance to see if they may have what it takes longer term. And we are still in the Cup (for now!).
