  1. he saves with his face he saves with his face Angus Gunn he saves with his face Oh and Cedric have a watch of how Alonso puts a cross in
  2. By passionate do you mean drunk? This bloke is a good manager and will keep us up/ I honestly think we will finished mid table and not be in danger of relegation by the beginning of April.
  3. well I will get to see Ramsay play. Apart from that it's going to be an absolute tonking. But looking forward to seeing some of the fringe players.
  4. it's so lovely to see Saints playing football again after 2 and a half seasons of nonsense.
  5. Defence was poor but I saw positive signs. Won't win our next game but can see us picking 4 or 6 points in the Huddersfield and West Ham games. Think we are going to stay up. Will need Bertrand and Ings back pretty sharpish though. On a positive note we needn't worry if a center back gets suspended or a knock as they are all as bad as each other. I don't expect Ralph to turn them into Cannavaro but he'll get them some better protection from central midfield.
  6. Charlie Austin Dislike the beard, the tatts, the lack of goals, the lack of skill, the lack of speed and particularly disliked the nasty flick of the foot into the Huddersfield's keeper's face that time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CELURdnVa3E Not the sort of thing I like seeing from a Saints player Current favorite player would be Yoshida even though he's not the most talented in the squad.
  7. The contrast in how Rickie Lambert worked on and improved his fitness, short sprint speed and control over the seasons to how Austin conducts himself is stark. I'd say Lambert cared or had a great deal more pride.
  8. Cedric and Austin no team can stay up with those two playing
  9. Pretty much the team I would have been picking since the start of the season. But I'm not a highly paid manager so what do I know.
  10. Pretty much what I was going to write. Had a core of players that played their way through the divisions, added a couple of players like Clyne with every promotion along the way who immediately bought into the belief the team had. Then after one season in the top league promptly started selling that core of players and with them went the heart, identity and belief the team had. Hasn't been replaced as players are coming now just to play at a team in the top division and cop the related wage rather than improve their game (Cedric still can't cross a ball after being here for 3 years) or push the team higher up the table. They ain't that bothered.
  11. Wow, who'd have thought putting the ball in the box would create opportunities. I thought the full back and wide man were suppose to just keep passing it between themselves and then try to pass to a man on the D and lose possesison.
  12. I'm not a big drinker, but can someone more experienced recommend the required alcohol intake to make this game remotely watchable I'm open to psychedelic suggestions, too. Cheers.
  13. Ooooh so close to Austin getting the contact he wanted from the keeper and then having the chance to dive for a contentious pen
  14. The technical term is 'Destroy and Exit"
  15. 28th April I'm still waiting Les.
  16. Haha you've got to laugh. Great that all our defenders are getting a run out and conversely our attackers get a nice rest. The best we can hope for is that we bore the knackers off all the tourists up at Anfield, After their rousing national anthem the place is going to be quieter than Katie Hopkins good karma collector if they don't score in the first 15 minutes.
  17. Dear Mods, can we make the use of the word 'matchday' an infraction worthy of a 24 hour ban?
  18. a Gabbi Ings partnership could be a wonderful thing. Ings looks like he can spot a run, and that has largely been Gabbi's problem during his time here, no one could anticipate his runs.
  19. Ings and Mo look class. There is hope.
  20. this is a very worrying first 20 minutes of the season. Lot of problems that won't be sorted by the team gelling. Austin too slow, Redmond not good enough, Lemina isolated in midfield, 4 center backs that wouldn't make a good one if you could add them all together. Nothing going forward and Burnley keeping possession as easily as Barca would against us.
  21. Yep, it's gone. But I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the rise back up to the Prem. The first 4 seasons in it and eventually qualifying for Europe. Our poor effort in that still bites because most of us know that opportunity comes around almost as infrequently as an England World Cup semi-final. Still there were plenty of moaners here even during the golden years of 2010-2016.
  22. 83/84 14 years old and the memories remain. 8-2 thrashing of Coventry, Little Danny Wallace terrifying defenders, the return of Golac, up to Sheffield for a 0-0 cup game, seeing us beat them 5-1 in the replay to reach the semis, Pompey away and Moran in the last minute, Danny Wallace against Liverpool and his goal of the season maybe Saints goal of the century. What a season. Blistering stuff.
  23. Cheers Hughesy but Arsene Wegner
  24. Charming, you must be a right treasure.
  25. Dusan must have read that Times article about wage cuts if relegated. He's playing a blinder depsite still being a tosspot. Kills me that our best player is so unlikable. Still if he keeps us up.,..
