We could do worse than Harry Redknapp. We need a few 'triffic boys' brought in. :-)

I'm starting to not care who it is as long as it's done soon! Normally I'd advocate taking our time with an appointment, making the right choice etc, but this feels like one of this times where we just need someone in quick, a figurehead that can speak to the press, steady the ship and encourage the players that this is the place to be.

Do they only work during games?
-
When we sell Lallana, Lambert, Morgan, Dejan, Chambers, Clyne, Shaw, JRod, Wanyama, Cork, appoint Chris Hughton as manager (who signs Johan Elmander and Van Wolfswinkel to play up front) and then we watch Kat take her billions and disappear leaving us in financial ruin. Then.
-
One things for sure, other clubs can see our players being sold off for huge sums of money and must be batoning down the hatches. They won't be laughing then.

In 30 years time, with Southampton FC having just been beaten 2-1 by Portsmouth FC in the Conference South, the grandchildren will turn to me and ask "where did it all go wrong Granddad?" I'll reply: "2014 kids, the great squad stripping of that year. But I was there kids, I was there." Although I can't get a season ticket due to being a shift worker, I'll still attend games next season. And who knows, we might do better than we all think.

Gutted. Whoever the new manager is better have decent contacts for incoming transfers...

I tried making a Premier League one of these for my computing GCSE in '97. I got a 'U' grade. (Means they didn't even bother grading it.) I spent the computing exam playing table tennis. So no, can't help. But don't the Beeb usually do something like that? It's a good old wall chart and pen for me.

Depends if Woy has developed a 'special bond' with Adam, Luke and Rickie that encourages them to stay put. I'd be all for it then!

Although Allardyce has kept his job by promising more attacking football. I look forward to seeing how that pans out... Whichever manager we choose, he'll need to bring in some new players, so a draw in the transfer market would be key. Of the managers that aren't a good fit for this club, i wonder if Moyes has the biggest draw to do that. Laudrup perhaps... Either way, whomever we choose, there'll be a mix of whelmed and underwhelmed people on here. I will simply back the new gaffer and wish him the best. Unless it's Hughton...

Had we finished the season with Europa League qualification, I wonder whether Pochettino would've joined Spurs or stayed put. hey oh.

Wee tubes. So you don't have to leave your seat for a piddle. (Birds are excluded in this.)

I've been thinking about managerial facial features, and I believe that what makes a good manager is someone with big eyebrows. So Di Matteo it is then. He also has a perfectly spherical head. Not that I'm sure why that matters.

Can we get a toilet attendant in each bog with a large selection of colognes and perfumes please. "Right smell for the poonani" and all that. I've sat next to one or two stinkys at St Mary's (I'll include the wife in that :-D ), and having the opportunity for them to get spritzed in the testes and ting would be terrific. If you put a pound in his basket, he'll give you a lolly too. EDIT: I jusr re-read that and would like to confirm that my wife does not have testes.

Yes, I am opinion. :-D I can see us losing both, although as Mark Dennis stated on TalkSport in the wee early hours of this morning, they haven't already signed contracts unless he knows something we don't. (And this is the bloke that was advocating Steve Bruce and Alan Curbishley for the managerial job here.) I do hold hope though that we keep one of them, and the more likely of the two to stay is Shaw, unless he is promised first team football at one of the big clubs. In a way though, United have shot themselves in the foot a bit by giving Evra a one year contract, meaning Shaw may not play regularly there. Lallana, the one jewel I'd love us to keep, is unfortunately likely to leave to seek his dream of Champions League football, something the media don't seem to grasp when they link him with Spurs. I don't think his relationship with Pochettino would be enough to see him leave Saints for Spurs. I think it's almost a given that we'll lose Morgan too, sadly, again to a Champions League club, and not Spurs.

Simply, it's easier and a darn sight cheaper to sack the 1 manager than it is to sack the 11-30 footballers that are under performing. Ergo it's the manager that suffers when the form is poor, even if it's not his fault. It's a shame, but when money is so important in the modern game that relegation could spell disaster, the pressure is on Premier League managers to perform consistently successfully. As for our managerial record in recent years, I don't think it's been too bad since the relegation season from the Championship.

...and in Meulensteen's case, even sound more English too! Pleased it won't be Poyet. Shame if the Yakin rumours about his English are true. A lack of English didn't stop Pochettino from gaining the respect of the players...
-
On the results page there's a 'show results' button near the bottom. i got 8 ffs. And spelling was always my strong point...
-
No thanks, I hate to see it because I really like the bloke but I think we're bigger than him now. I liked the transfers we made under him, he'll always be a hero in taking us to two promotions, and I wouldn't mind if we did bring him back, but it think we can do better.
-
Peeps was after Paul Tisdale when Pardew got the tin tack. Get it done Saints.
-
Has experience in the English leagues too. With Oxford. :-)
-
Why did he resign? Was it to save money or something?
-
I wouldn't yet, but we'll see who departs and I may reassess....
-
Next season is now about consolidation. If we finish 10th or better, the new manager, whomever he will be, will have done a fantastic job. id love it if we finished above Spurs though!

The more I hear about Yakin the more I like. I suppose he'd be my top choice currently. I wouldn't be upset if we brought Moyes in, and I still think Magath would be a decent appointment. I'm not against McClaren either. There are some names on this thread I wouldn't care to see here though. I know Sherwood and Lennon have some support but I wouldn't want either. That said I wonder if Kat and Ralph would be swayed by Lennon's CV. Oh, and I'd cut my penis off if we appoint Hughton. With a blunt knife. Then I'd pour acid on the bleeding patch of flesh where my penis used to be. It'd be a one way ticket to relegation.
