Most important player signing of past 3.5 years?
SNSUN replied to Lallana's Left Peg's topic in The Saints
Johnny Forte, the man that inspired all the promotions. Nah, it has to be Lambert. He's different gravy, and he's managed to adapt to every league on his way up. Quality for 1/50th of the price of Torres. Honourable mentions for Morgan, Lallana and Fonte, all whom have done the same from League One upwards. -
I didn't get it initially, I do now. The Welsh Open snooker one is the best though. Class.

Holloway was having a go a few weeks ago about this. It seems there's a massive loophole that needs to be closed, but IMO it's similar to Darren Ferguson borrowing players off his dad. It's working for Watford, so good for them, but there will be some annoyed fans of other clubs that fail to go up. I had to look this up as Watford fans were talking about getting a fee for Vydra when we were linked with him in January, despite the fact he's only on loan.

May she and her norks RIP.

I married a young girl called Kate She then dumped me and ran off with a Skate I do not blame her But her admirer It's my brother-in-law that I hate. Just thought I'd add a little something to this thread lest it go down in internet history, so bored am I.

Woodlice are footballs for stick insects. Imagine Peter Crouch playing football if the imagery puzzles you.

We can beat 'em, but I'll still be happy with a draw. Entertaining one too - 3-3. Jos to undo all his recent good work with an own goal, but then go up the other end and bang one in from a corner. Rickie with a debatable penalty (the Geordies will kill the ref after the game) and Morgan with a 30 yard screamer.

Me and Mrs SNSUN met 7 years ago today. Can we come to the swingers party too? (If yes, I would like proof Rihanna is going to be there before we arrive...)

Boruc is 33 today. Keep up the good work fella, if we'd had (and played) him from the start of the season, we'd be a good few places higher up in the league now.

This. I just decided to go too. Gash.

Pompey players want to do it, they just can't afford to give the shirts away.

Saints risk losing Puncheon - West Ham and Newcastle United circle
SNSUN replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Mixed feelings here. He's done brilliantly this season - perhaps our best performer, but if we're looking upwards then I still think we could do better. Sign him up, by all means, and I'd be chuffed, but if we lost him I wouldn't have sleepless nights as he's replaceable, albeit for a bit of bunce. After all he's been through with Cortese, I wonder whether he'd sign a contract should it be offered to him anyway... -
Savoury - Chicken and Mushroom or Steak, depending on which brand, but from the butchers it's steak all the way. Sweet - Lemon Meringue. Savoury pies pwn sweet pies though.

What is your favourite food... "on toast"
SNSUN replied to Miltonroader07's topic in The Muppet Show
Mmm, the thicker the chunk the better. It's annoying ordering pate on toast as a starter in restaurants, as they never give you enough toast points. My wife's uncle and aunty work for Bernard Matthews, and every Christmas they get given a big tub of homemade Pate as a thank-you. It's like gold dust that stuff, but they did give me some once on some crusty bread. Absolutely delicious. Heaven. -

Not one person said Pate! Am I the only pate lover? I loves a bit of pate on toast, or pate on crumpets, or pate on pancakes. (Ok the last one wasn't true.) I do a lazy man's cheese on toast too. Toast the bread in the toaster, cover with cheese, microwave for 90 seconds. -
No game, so time to look at some general issues....

A good read aside from one blogger saying Morgan has been here for ten years! (Unless that's your typing Chris!) -
This. I drive down to games and back again - I'd rather not stink of booze if I get pulled over for a dodgy tail light or what not. I love a pint as much as the next man but keep the rules as is for now.

At what point are the club going to invest in Dyson airblades?
SNSUN replied to Tom8558's topic in The Saints
They're not cheap and easily vandalised, but I do love them. It would be nice not to have to rub my wet hands on some random blokes coat hood to dry my hands. -
I'd let him go in a swap deal for Cole, no wait Maiga, no wait Noble, no wait Jaaskelainen, no.... ...nope, can't think of one of their players I'd have here instead of him. Loving the green eyed monster though.

A Chelsea fan now perhaps, but 17 more years of playing for us will change him! After all, Le Tiss was a Spurs fan as a boy...

Bang up to date, and Tadanari Lee for his cracking goal against Derby last season. Oh, and I was there for that Wayne Thomas strike against Ipswich. The one and only time my missus has ever cheered a goal for Saints! (Being a Norwich fan...) Ooh, and the David Hughes bicycle kick against QPR- a good player whose career was cut short by injury.

Alledine Yahia is a name I've just thought of, although just checked and he didn't play any games for us. Seems he's a stalwart in France now.
-
Been playing some FM 2007. Josh Dutton-Black on there. I wonder what happened to him. Marcelo Sarmiento is always the first one to be released from his loan too.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Ramirez leaving this summer, as we try to recoup what we paid for him. Sadly he hasn't been the inspirational game changer we thought we were spending £12 million on. I'd love to see him stick around and prove me wrong, but unless Pochettino sees an upturn in form from him in the tail end of this season, I think we'd go out and look for replacements. Of the other "must keeps", the only other I can see question marks over is Shaw. I wonder whether his head would be turned by the big boys. It'll cost them a fortune to buy him, and we all know he's be better off staying put, but ultimately if his heart is set on moving, we could be in trouble. Fortunately it seems like he's enjoying things, and hopefully he still signs that contract, so for now we can bask in the knowledge he's ours.

Using our unneeded, unused or likely outgoing players, you can make a decent League One team! Something like: Davis Butterfield Martin Seaborne Dickson De Ridder Hammond Chaplow Forte Barnard Hoskins I'd fancy that to challenge in League One. Even going up a league to the Championship and adding current Saints non-first teamers and you get: Gazzaniga Richardson Fonte Hooiveld (for the purposes of this although he's getting a run in the side) Fox Guly Hammond JWP Reeves Sharp Lee It massively highlights the deadwood we have from rising up the leagues so fast that we can field nearly 3 teams of differing quality. Stay in the Premier League and there'll be a lot of outs, lower league clubs will love us. Go down, and while we nay lose our exciting, young quality players, we still have the core of a good Championship team.
