  1. Must you embarass me? :-D
  2. I'm going to have a struggle on my hands when I eventually have children. I, of course, am a die hard Saint, but I became a Saint through influence, not through family. My dad 'follows' Torquay, but not seriously, so I don't have much to worry about on that score. My mum 'supports' Saints, but only because I show so much passion for the subject - I don't think she actually gives a toss either way. The problem comes with my fiance. As most of you know she's a Norwich fan, not as passionate as I am for Saints, but still a Norwich fan nonetheless. Her brother and her mother are both die hard Norwich fans, as are her three best friends, all of whom live in Norwich and go to nearly every game. This is what I have to contend with. The only voice of sanity when I visit the in-law's house is her uncle, he supports Leeds. So I do face a battle when I have kids. Still, they're my kids and I will do my utmost to get them to support Saints.I did think of doing a trade off - the girls can be Norwich, the boys can be Saints, but then I just know that I'll have all girls. So I will look forward to my first born, in the maternity ward, with a mini Saints kit in hand.
  3. Has there ever been a successful footballer called Sebastian? I doubt it. A bit like having a Rupert at a professional football club... Am I right in saying that Eddie Anaclet is also known as Eddie Odhiambo? There's a player whose name converts into a decent chant. EDIT: Juan Sebastian Veron, just thought of it. Pretty uncommon though.
  4. Awful news. Just awful. Find out who's responsible and cut off their dangly bit. Get well soon Dan, we need you back, fit and well.
  5. Oral sex is a one way street in my household.
  6. Well I hope he's learned his lesson that our players don't come cheap - nay they nearly get you the sack. Oxo is about ten years away from being his best - that means he is not going to be a complete player until the early 2020's, the Arsenal fans will have to learn that. Getting back to the Premiership is both a good thing and a bad thing - it means we can keep our own talented youngsters from the big boys but they will get little game time. Aarran Racine is a name I've been seemingly hearing for a long time, what's he like?
  7. What was that website listing all the current free transfers, I can't find it...
  8. As happy and contented as I am at the world of Saints since the Liebherr takeover, I do think we need a striker, and whilst I know the club was trying to bring one in, their lack of doing so is a worry. I accept that people may have been playing hard ball, especially in terms of finance, but there must've been one striker somewhere that could have signed? Connolly, even though it seems his injury days are finally in the past, is 34 and won't last every game, Barnard's future is uncertain outside of football, and that leaves a lot of pressure on Lambert. Guly, Lallana, De Ridder and Forte are the alternate attacking options; they're great options to have but not out-and-out goalscorers. That said, saving our money until January could prove to be a very sensible option, when different or better players become available. It's our only failing of the window imo, unless the idea all along was to rely on the loan window (and there will be some VERY good loans available), or rely on the youth. We're fine at the moment, but I can't think that Barnard, Connolly and Lambert will carry us through the season. In Adkins I trust, but 3 strikers does concern me a tad.
  9. Oxo and Theo show Frimpong and Wilshire the delights of St Mary's. I thought Jaguars were black anyway...
  10. My cup's half full - I think we have the quality to finish in the play-offs. We will certainly be fighting for it. Ask again on February 1st though, I feel January will be an interesting month...
  11. Yes, I'd take him, if he's fit enough, and even if he's not, Adkins is the man to get you fit. The wages must be right too, but as a free transfer, there's less risk involved. I don't think he's Adkins's style though, so I don't see it happening.
  12. This question would be better answered on Friday at 5pm when we know what the Premiership 25 man squads are, but while Simeon Jackson would be the best shout, I expect he'll make their 25. Delfouneso is supposed to have loads of talent too. We do need a striker though, especially if we can get a young one "with a view to a permanent" if they're successful. Connolly is doing well, and even though his injury problems seem behind him, he's 34 and I wonder if he'll get through a season. Barnard faces an uncertain future too in the court, so a lot of pressure is heaped on Lambert's shoulders. Would I take Beatts on a free? Yes, if the wages were right, but I still think he'll get a quick deal to Swansea or somewhere at the bottom of the Premiership. Blackburn again perhaps. EDIT: The other Norwich striker that I don't think will make the 25 is Chris Martin, another who could definitely DAJFU.
  13. This is a good signing. It's low risk, it hasn't cost us a transfer fee, and it fits the criteria we needed and that most people wanted - a big, strong, left footed centre back. Yes we were waiting for the marquee signing that never arrived, even I though we'd get one although you could consider Cork a pretty big signing at this level, and a striker, but now we can see how the current squad fares until January, then spend in the areas we need to strengthen. Yes there's an air of disappointment, we were all expecting a bit more, but I'm glad the club didn't start throwing money around at any old player. It's a game of chess, tactically seeing our rivals strengths and weaknesses before check mating them in January. Leicester, it seems, have gone **** or bust. A tactic to appease the fans but that could ruin the club if they don't achieve promotion. Remember, we're still new at this level, we've started well and expectations are high, but we already have a very good team. Remember also that the Premier Leagues 25 man squads have to be finalised by Friday, so the loan window will be rich pickings. On a personal level, I'm content with our summer dealings, the only position I still think we're short in is a striker, but it's not like we don't have 3 good'uns already. We have more allure than most other clubs for loans too, so we're not completely cut off from new recruits.
  14. Di Canio only signed Clarke last week. Lolage.
  15. 4 mins added on. Hope this doesn't go to extra time, I have to go to bed. (For work, up at 4. I'm not 12 years old. :-) lolzzz)
  16. All of a sudden we sound like we're playing like amateurs. Pull it together lads. A win's a win, whatever competition it's in.
  17. Great save BArt
  18. Doesn't look like the young'uns will be seeing much game time, if any, with the score precariously positioned. Come on Saints, finish it. Bmuff now 4-1 up.
  19. 1-2. I had 2-0 in my heart, but I had 3-2 Saints in the prediction league. That would make for an interesting finish.
  20. Do you have a homosexual coat?
  21. No, I'm a Saints fan! (It's taken me about 15 minutes to write this!) One more should do it. Blood the youngsters!
  22. Saints Player starting to cut out for me too. Only lasted about five minutes before it's back to normal. Might be my mobile broadband though, the walls of my cottage are very thick.
  23. Lovely slow OWTS
  24. Swindon giving it some this half thus far. I'd like to see Morgan crack one out.
  25. Yowzers, Saints players idents are much louder than the commentary. I remember when I had functioning eardrums.
