Central Chambers was sweeeeeeeet!

I was on my stag do this weekend, and had my phone hidden by my mates, so I didn't have much to do with this fixture. Which, from the sounds of it, and the few minutes I watched on Sky+, is just as well. I said earlier last week that Blackpool were a good team, and so it was proved. If they finish in the play-offs, they'd be my bet to go up - and that's with or without us in them. ...and to Pompey. They'll be hoping they can ruin it for us. We have better players - we just have to overcome this confidence knock. We've blown 1 good lead at the top of the league this season, I hope we've learned from that. I don't care about winning the league, just promotion. West Ham need to better our results by 7. So if we only get 8 more points, West Ham need 15. I'm still confident.

FIlms I have watched today: Tamara Drewe: 5/10. Ok, it's a chick flick, but it was on my Sky+ thanks to the missus and I was doing some ironing so I thought I'd lady it up. It was ok, the acting wasn't bad, the storyline was weak but there were one or two chuckles to be had. Gemma Arterton scampily dressed probably sticks an extra mark on the final score though! The Running Man: 8/10. Granted it's so outdated now, but it's still a great storyline and gripping from start to finish. Some great lines for Arnie, I thought "I'll Be Back" was from another movie for some reason. This was the first 18 movie I ever watched (I think I was 14 at the time), and so it probably holds great memories for me, but it's a very good movie all the same. It's one of those movies that could be re-made. (as is the great Hollywood tradition to take good movies and remake them badly). Also of note, the premise of The Running Man was that it was set in 2019, after a worldwide crash of economy, could happen, and a shortage of oil, could happen. Eerie! Although they did still use cassettes and home videos in the film! (Oh, and I didn't know that Richard Dawson, the great American game show host that portrayed Damon Killian, was born in Gosport!)

Don't go turning their rooms into gyms or games rooms etc, if your family are anything like my family, they'll be back! I moved to Chiswick in '00, hopefully for good. That lasted 3 months. My sister has moved out on 4 different occassions, for varying amounts of time (she was even engaged for one of those), but sure enough she always came home. Now, I'm getting married and quite happy living with my missus, but we know that if anything happened to my job, we'd be skint and have to move back in with my folks - and my sister just last month moved out into her own place... and she already hates it and wants to move home. I'm not a fan of my mother, but it's a compliment to both my parents that we still think of their house as "home". ( Me less so, I'd like to add I've been living out of there for four years now and have NO intention to return!) Now they finally have the house to themselves, they've gone mental and created a mini zoo, containing dogs, parrots, fish and soon to be a gerbil or two. my sister and I think they're compensating for not having children around anymore - despite the both of us being around our 30's.

Bare legs. Jism works well as sun screen too, so I have my missus believing...

We win we win, we lose we lose. It's not season defining yet, but a win would be massive. Blackpool though are my danger team - I think they have a good attacking side although they lack consistancy - so it's about which Blackpool side turns up. We should have beaten them at SMS (Bloody Bart) but I can see a much stronger challenge coming from them at Bloomfield Road. I'm with others - I think a draw would be a very good result here, but we do have the edge to possibly win this. Lose? Not the end of the world, but it'd mean picking up a result in one of our other dodgy games, Palace or MBoro away.

The Gambia - Here to brighten up an already sunny day....
SNSUN replied to St Louis's topic in The Saints
Cracking story... and I'm sure he realises that had he supported a "big" team, he wouldn't have had this avenue for extra memorabilia from Saints fans! The more fans the merrier I say! -
Fair to say their away form is better than their home form. Come on Posh, not over yet...
-
Irrespective of the Wham goal, KUMB fans are bemoaning BFSam for making two defensive changes, only one forced, when they only have one striker on the pitch. Seemingly Vaz Te could prove a key signing for them though...
-
That'd be the bubbles popping. I believe they contain the West Ham fans dreams of promotion...
-
What's worse would be them finding form before our game.
-
Yup., me too.
-
Lallana for me. Granted Chappers covered well earlier in the season but he's key to promotion.
-
Morrison, Sears... The have more strikers than the RMT.
-
Posh away (the team that dicked Reading last week) and Reading at home (where they can't win for toffee, and against in form opposition). If they get six points out of that, they deserve to be in the hunt for automatic promotion.
-
I should've left off "seriously" at start of the second paragraph, but I'm content with my words. Could anyone have genuinely believed we'd be top by five points with a far superior goal difference at this stage of the season? As Saints fans we could, perhaps, we all want what's best for our team, but if you'd told me to put money on us being top now, I'd have said no. (Unsurprisingly, since I'm a terrible gambler.)
-
I'd say everyone from Burnley up still have a chance. It'll be: Reading (Their blip will happen, West Ham will fluke themselves second spot), Brighton (They're on fire at the moment - and what an advert for League One teams getting promoted), Blackpool (A good team with some good attacking players, although just when you expect them to win, they go and lose), and...umm...Birmingham (based on their good players, however few they have now, their manager, and their goal difference). If Birmingham do scrape into the play-offs, I think they'll go on and win it.

Reading that dreadful teamsheet above, whatever happened to Lee Molyneux? Wikipeado lists him as "a former footballer" despite only being 23. Did he realise how awful he was and quit? Injury?
-
Just realised, this game marked the last of our Saturday 3pm kick offs! Still, with 7 games to go, it gives us a good chance to get used to not having many in the Premiership!
-
I always wondered, a reverse of this topic perhaps, but how long could I sit rooted in my seat for after a game, before the stewards started getting tetchy? I quite fancy leading them into a Benny Hill style cat and mouse chase around the Chapel end.
-
Easy - Reading win please. Our priority right now is not to win the league, but to get automatic promotion. After we've accomplished that, THEN we can go looking for a league title. A Reading win would make that gap between us and West Ham so much more comfortable - and it would have the bonus effect of annoying smug West Ham fans. The title is in our hands anyway - We still have Reading to play, so even if they do beat West Ham, we could nullify their 3 point advantage (an advantage only obtained if we lose that day) by beating them at St Marys. And there's still the 5.1 point gap anyway. This 'grinding out wins at the end of the season' thing is fantastic.

I couldn't really follow the game today, but it's been a great day in the SaintNoStoppingUsNow household thanks to the results. Saints win, Norwich win, I've already had beers, I'm getting a free meal out tonight, West Ham only drew, I now have ten days off work, and my wedding has been mostly paid for by my mother. All that, and the sun was shining brightly thoughout. I don't even care that I had to be up at half three for work this morning. Saints are going up. "Then I saw the scores, now I'm a believer! Not a trace, of doubt in my mind. We are good Oooooooooooh I'm a believer I couldn't fear them if I tried..." I don't really know what happened during the game, only that Sharp scored twice. I'll judge the rest on comments on here. Out of ten, how good does it feel to be a Saints fan right now?
-
While the Liebherrs are happy to invest in us, we're in damn good shape. If they ever decide to sell us, then we'll have to hold our breath and hope we get a decent owner/chairman in place. Hopefully with our success at present and our imminent promotion (!), they won't want to quit anytime soon.

Best signing of the season by a country mile. In the whole of the Championship I mean. Even trying to be non biased here. And I'm definitely racking my brains for other key signings. Lord knows what Celtic were thinking of letting him go, or why the Celtic fans were taking the wee, but he's been fantastic for us.
