Orn, never had you down as a wum! Lol It's looking like nobody in, nobody out imo. Still loads of frees though so not in a rush!

Is it just me or is the transfer window more exciting when it finishes at midnight? Was expecting a Saints signing or two today. Gutted.

Love it. Thought Extras was forced, though Stephen Merchant made it good.

I miss the obvious things, MOTD, being in the papers, being linked with players way out of our price range, beating teams like Man Utd and making Ferguson pee his pants, not being ridiculed by my mates for having a cruddy little football team, playing teams and not feeling like plop when we get beat etc etc etc etc HOWEVER since we were there, the Premiership has become very segmented. You have your rich clubs that are always top of the table, the clubs with sound financial backing that sign good players, the clubs that punch above their weight every season and the promoted lads, though the latter two may fall into the same bracket. In terms of what I miss, I actually miss the Championship. The coverage was ok, and you're still playing big teams. Oh how I would have loved a trip to Newcastle this season. Sigh, I can wait 2 years...

Wasn't Pahars a deadline day signing? IIRC I hate this transfer window thing anyway. I have ever since it came in. I was watching SSN earlier and some guy was saying it's a stupid system that causes panic buying and inflated prices. He's right too, Man City knew they had until the end of August to sign their players so they splashed out on whoever they could. I remember back in 96 under Souness how much we struggled at the start of the season with a weak defence and little creativity aside from our Matt. We then went out and bought Lundekvam, Ostenstadt and Berkovic which turned our season around. With the transfer window as it is now, we'd have been up poo creek. That said, the transfer window as it is now does benefit the smaller teams. A team like us doesn't get our players raided by Premiership teams that are close to the bottom of the table, well, until just after Christmas that is.

Of the Norwich pair, I'd take Hoolihan but I wouldn't have Doherty. Yes he's still not a bad age, and has experience, and is a centre back of a calibre better than Lancashire, but he's far too error strewn. He does pop up with the odd goal though, but usually scores own goals to counteract it.

I will be miffed if we don't sign anyone, and it will have been a day wasted watching SSN and doing eff all, but that's about it. Most of the footballers listed by people on the HCDAJFU fred are still on free transfers anyway, and can be brought in at any time. Plus the emergency loan window is open and we can start to raid the talented youth teams of the big boys. Or perhaps persuade the only talent Portsmouth have left to rip up their contracts and join us...

Think I read somewhere he's a property developer. I'll check Wiki. Nope - Nothing.

A little bit of common sense wouldn't go astray. It seems obvious to me, as a driver, that the speed limits on some roads is too fast, and on others (albeit in fewer numbers) it is too slow. For example the road outside my house is a 40. It is too fast, and I'm not just saying that because I live there, It narrows and is very dangerous, and IMO should be a 30. (Not to mention there is a police station at the end of the road!) On the flip side, there is a 30 mph speed limit on the A30 towards Ashford, a road I use to go to work, and it is too slow, cars brake dangerously quickly and if anything it has a potential to cause more accidents than it prevents. A little common sense is all. As for the 50mph thing, I bloody hope it doesn't get brought in on Duel Carriageways and Motorways. It's far too slow. Even the 70 limit currently on motorways is too slow IMO, I think 80 would be better, but this one in particular is my own opinion and doesn't take into account accident facts etc. The 50mph thing seems like the Government just trying to once again squeeze money out of us by making us speed. And we will speed. Even people that say they won't speed will speed, because it's too slow. A two hour car journey will take nearly an hour longer. Not good.

Jesus signs for the Disciples.

I'll take staying up. Anything else would be the bonus we can build on next season.

We MUST get AT least another Centre back and a pacy Striker. We also need currently a winger and a right back, though a loan for the right back slot would be ok. I cannot WAIT until Tuesday. My only day off next week, and I will be watching SSN from the early hours until after the window closes.

Would've been perhaps - he joined Brentford a few weeks back.

PARDEW OUT ...side training with the squad tomorrow. Oh, and hopefully making a few more signings by Tuesday.

It's peculiar how you become immune to strange noises if you hear them on a regular basis. Slightly off topic, but I live under the Heathrow flightpath, very close to the airport, and don't bat an eyelid when a plane goes over. Yet kids screaming outside get noticed every time. One day a plane is going to crash into my house and I won't have heard it coming. Incidentally when I was at boarding school, a disgruntled, expelled ex-student came back and set fire to the staff room. My bedroom was two flights above it, and I heard commotion, but with it being a boarding school, noise was common and I didn't think anything of it. 5 minutes later the fire alarm went off, we were all evacuated and the staff room was burned to a crisp. Being young, we were all quite excited at this, despite having to sit in a freezing cold chapel in the middle of the night for 3 hours with nothing but our duvets for warmth.

Every draw seems like a loss at the moment. One win should boost confidences. It's not as if we're playing poorly either, we're just not getting the luck. Staying up should be our goal this season - then when it's mathmatically impossible, we can start to look higher. This was always going to be a consolidation season, but it is quite annoying not to have won yet!

Fitness, defence, referees... Can we start bribing refs?

Lucy Pinder believes it'll be ok. I believe her.

3 points in 5 games really isn't good enough. I'm rapidly losing patience. That said, I do think we'll win our next home game vs Colchester, and beat Yeovil in 3 games time, but new recruits are still needed. Tuesday is a big day for us now.
