He had a handful of good games in the 10 but faded badly. Much more threatening on the left as tricky and delivers a good ball on the move. He prefers 10 probably because he doesn't have to track back as much!

Agree with this. linked up lovely with Pele. Much better coming off the left than central imo. Very clever player but poor finisher. Rumoured he fell out with RK as well as CP?

Shame badge not in the middle, glad to see return of white socks. What about that colo colo link?

Can you tell us more on this please?

You are right of course, I think what he is getting at is he has been a model pro for 2 years just as Bertrand has for 3. I would be very disappointed to see VVD & RB leave, they are top players. However if I take off my read & white glasses off, if I was in their shoes I would leave too. Especially RB as he is a couple of years older and turning 28 y.o this year. As long as they handle themselves as professionals unlike Lovren & Lallana (worst of the lot) then no issues in my book.

Here is problem 1. Why completely change a winning team, one that put square pegs in square holes. Brave/Foolish/Stubborn, delete as applicable (or none at all) Why not be flexible enough to let our strikers play as a two occasionally if we are struggling for goals? If he stays nothing will change as he is a stubborn ****

Poor end to a very strange season. Very fortunate to finish 8th but I will take it, actually glad the season is over! Ownership change a big worry & expect it to happen in the summer. Very sceptical of Lander so hope another option is lurking in the shadows. I think the club is at a crossroads & will be interesting to see what happens next. Mixed emotions regarding Puel all season, but now the dust has settled I hope (& expect) he leaves. Points drop is just not good enough & football has been dull. Lack of goals alarming. From day 1 his stubbornness shined through. Needlessly changed a winning team by playing the diamond every week, insisting Redmond was a striker & expecting Austin to track back. Next the 4-3-3 about as creative as burnt toast. Seems as though the players insisted on 4-2-3-1 & immediate improvement at Sunderland & our most exciting period of the season. Last few weeks I feel the players have had enough and that has been reflected in the performances. If a squad player has a good game they are invariably dropped & this must be soul destroying. That said a number of players have to look at themselves in the mirror as does Les Reed who has made some very bad calls this year. Let's hope he has the balls to admit it to himself and learn from it. This process starts by cutting Puel asap imo. No doubt he has tried his best but I don't think he is a good fit. Will wish him all the best if he leaves.

Premier League directive. Just like only horizontal lines brushed onto all BPL pitches next season. No more fancy designs.

Disgrace indeed - Somebody call the Telegraph! ; )

This is pretty damning in terms of our much heralded structure. -
I wouldn't trust Micah Hall in a million years based on his last sentence: "let no-one underestimate the intelligence of Pompey fans."

Sounds to me as though Katharina is keen to work with Lander which makes me nervous on the face of it. She has always struck me as very much invested in the best interests of the club however so it would be interesting to see what they would bring to the table.
-
Would agree with this. 2 biggest mistakes this season were made in summer transfer window (striker) and winter winter (CB). I do however remain unconvinced about Puel but deserves till end of season.

Huddersfield 1st, Weds 2nd

Agree.

Seems as clear as mud. For that reason i'm out!

I'm one of his biggest critics, but thought he was very good Saturday.

This post sums up most of my feelings towards Puel. He deserves full support until end of the season and then time to assess our position. I see no reason why he shouldn't get top half this season now. If he does that then imo deserves another year unless we are in a relegation battle before christmas.

Was surprised at the scale of negativity on here after the 1st goal. It was a soft goal but I thought we were comfortably the better side all night, it was a good game and palace did ask some questions of us. Fantastic grit and will to win in the 2nd half particularly, massive 3 goals from us tonight and big result. Tadic was excellent and very unlucky not to get 2-3 assists. Redmond has been great last 3 months and showing why we bought him motm. Ref was bad to say the least and Davo is extremely lucky not to have snapped his leg. That was accidental but dangerous play and a straight red. Hopefully Barry will be back soon which will make a huge difference and we can push for 8th.

Dropped a big bollock not signing him it seems - we have shipped so many goals since Fonte - VVD were broken up. Silverware was on the table.

Awful 1st half. Not good enough, only plus so far is that Forster has finally made a couple of saves. Need to show some character 2nd half or we are going to get dicked

Had a good day at the office today! Bagging a hatrick

A big positive for me over the last 2 games has been JWP performing well on the right of a 4-2-3-1. He lacks pace & a trick, but is playing a little narrower than a true winger. 2 great assists & numerous great crosses, dead balls looking a big threat again. Has he finally found his best position?
-
It's about tactics and shape. Charlie Austin could score, Shane long is decent at times. Gabbiadini is a massive help but it's more than just him.
-
Absolutely spot on imo. My opinion has shifted based on the last 2 games and much improved performances. He should have changed things my quicker though. Give him till end of season and then reassess I think.
