Thanks to those that replied - This is what I was looking for.

Actions speak louder than words. I am not one to berate the club for not making a statement every 5 minutes. If he does choose to speak then he needs to be held accountable. Time after time he has made himself look like a bit of a nob, despite his excellent work for the most part.

I think Les Reed has done a great job overall, but every time he speaks he let's himself down. Happens every year. Best indicator of future behavior is past behavior. If VVD is still here in September then clearly something has changed, everything else is hot air.

That would be tempting.

Let's deal with the facts. Yoshida has mostly been 3rd choice since he has been here. I like him & he has improved with game time. Stephens has been 4th choice, 5th choice, U23's or on loan since he was thrown in the deep end after VVD's injury & Fonte left. I like him too and he deserves a new deal imo. My point is we have had one of the best defences in the PL over the last few years. Our 1st choice CB's over that time have been 2 of Fonte, VVD, Alderweireld and dare I say Lovren. These 2 are good players but not in the same class, we need to strengthen our 1st choice CB pairing not weaken it.

Seems an odd one to me. Still waiting for the Fonte replacement Les promised. This lad & Caceres are nothing of the sort. MY & JS had some good games but we still shipped a load of goals. They are still 3rd & 4th choice imo - great backup. Need an established, younger senior international to replace Fonte. Need an outstanding replacement for VVD unless hell freezes over. Worried.

On Pellegrino, I like the cut of his jib. He is a good age. Seems very hungry, meticulous in his preparation and tactically astute. Played for some great clubs under some great managers, has good contacts and a strong coaching background in some tough leagues. Did a fantastic job at Alaves. Will be fascinating to see what he can do with us.

Has fantastic ability but looks hard to coach, petulant and fitness a big issue. He could lay off the fags for a start. If I had to stick my neck out would say he will continue to flop, which is a great shame.

I too am now in the out camp, however this has been played poorly by SFC. I still expect him to go. I can see from the clubs angle why pay him off if someone will take him off our hands. Surely this is the only logical explanation for this being so drawn out? However If JW's article is accurate as usual, to expect him to stick around after this is terrible leadership from the top. I hope this is just fluff. His position is completely untenable and going into the season with unmotivated players (again) and an irate fan base is pure suicide.

IMO he is still likely to go. The board know the majority of fan's want him out. If he was to stay I would expect a vote of confidence statement which would settle the speculation down.
