I would let him go for a small fee as long as we don't subside the wages

The first goal against Coventry, or indeed all 4, when we confirmed promotion to PL for me! Didn't get home until around 4 am after that game!

Not sure about Obafemi - clearly has talent but wonder if he has the application (hard work, sacrifice etc.)? Could learn a lot from his countryman, Long - who makes up for his limited talent with tons of effort. Likes of Keegan, Ronaldo and Beckham worked their socks off, which is partly why the were such great players (along with tallent of course), and no I don't think Obafemi has the same tallent - could be ok if he puts the effort in. Not easy to get stuck in when you earn tons of money at 19 I guess? Wouldn't really know as I was working nights in a meat factory to pay my way through college.

Lad done good today! Well done son. Let's more of this this Jack - please!
-
Just hope the last two results don't make the owner think we don't investment in new players
-
Agreed. Desperately unlucky not to score today - not sure how he didn't, but I guess you have to credit the defender.
-
Yea, tried that but still didn't work. Technology getting too smart - at least for me anyways! Not sure why they won't allow it - can get all the TV and movies etc. Still have BT Sport so good for the Spuds game - will be in dreamland if we get anything there :-)

Thanks - do you work for Amazon perchance? How do you watch from outside UK? I can use my mum's account (she leaves in Southampton, but has no interest in footy!)
-
Thought most of the team played well. For me Stephens was MOM, but happy who ever get's it. Adams must have run over a black cat or something - feel for the lad. Oh, and Amazon can do one - wasted nearly 2 hours trying to get the game, only to find you can't watch it in Ireland and they don't flaming tell you! Anyway found a decent stream, so all good. This team is a mystery to me - how can we play like we did today and complete rank at other times?

Has to be acknowledged - Stephens has immense the last few games - come on lad keep it up!
-
Eh? We've played 442 all game
-
Thanks guys - figured it out. Not available in Ireland. Blooming Amazon - just hope there is a decent stream around. Thought I was losing it for a while.

Ok, if it makes you feel better - I am a tw*t and got it all wrong, you're right! I do believe that our owner would sell Ings at £40M or over, which is my main worry. Now, go and get stuck into the leftover turkey and any alcohol left.

Hi All, need some help please? Having a senior moment, and as it's Christmas (yes it was yesterday, but you what I mean) some kind sole might want to help. Just subscribed to Amazon Prime for the game today, and logged on to Prime Video but no mention of the game (or any games). Searched and tried all sorts but no way can I find it. Anyone know how to watch the footy on this site? Many thanks in advance and a very happy Christmas!

Ditto - a very merry Christmas to one and all. Enjoy
-
Chill out - enjoy a Christmas beer and read my comments a bit more carefully - what bit of "Don't see him going to Everton" is hard to understand?
-
Agree. Don't see him going to Everton, but what I meant was it will be interesting to see what they bid (if indeed they do). If he keeps up his form, I can see a number of top sides across Europe being interested at the £40M mark - will certainly test our metle

Guess we'll find out soon enough! https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/everton-backed-raid-wolves-southampton-21153525

Aston Villa 1 - 3 Saints - FT - Reactions and Christmas Cheer!
Red replied to Heisenberg's topic in The Saints
Surprised no one has mentioned PEH ducking away from the Grealish shot on goal - ok, he might not have saved it, but to duck away from a direct shot on goal is hardly captain marvel material - all that horlicks about total commitment to the club etc. etc. Then misses a sitter at end, and barracks Ings - 10 times the player he will ever be. Is it maybe time to change captains - Ings? -

This. If only the whole team (or majority of it at least) can maintain a good and consistent performance in all games, we will be fine. Trouble is they often don't, and that has to be down to coaching/manager - clearly they have the ability but only produce it when they are bothered! Sure, we'll still lose games but not as many. -
I don't think it's quite the black and white issue. Yes some players are crap and need to be moved on - but than isn't that what we did (or try to do) in the summer? All those on loan/sold have no term future - Forster, Hoedt, Lemina, Elyounoussi, Carrillo, Austin, Targett etc. (assuming likes of Reed, Barnes etc. were sent on loan for experience rather than shifting out?). That's at least 7 players we moved on in one transfer season. We will probably move on Ced, Bouf, Vest, Yoshi, Long, and maybe Bertie and Red next. That's a minimum of 12 in 2/3 transfer window. That's some clear out. Add to that Ralph (presumably?) was allowed to bring in Adams, Jenny, Danso and Ings (ok, deal was done before he came - maybe just as well), than not sure we can blame the club for not willing to invest and make the change. So, it would appear the f'up is a combination of many things - owner, board, players, Ralph not quite the genius we were led to believe he was (he is fine if he has the players that fit his system, if not he is clueless how to change it - no real surprise, let's face it we hired another unemployed manager - there was a reason he was unemployed). So in summary, combination of owner, board, players, and Ralph have collective responsibility in my view

Not one single Saints player has even been slightly average so far - utter utter dross! Surely that can't be down to players alone? It's the hope that kills you - if they're not going to even try, then I would rather we just threw in the towel and forfeit the rest of our games and stop the agony! See you next Tuesday's!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clearly, FF from his last interview is more than delighted at Celtic. Despite our keeper issue, he is unlikely to become the starting keeper at Saints, so best option is FF takes a bit of a pay cut, and we agree to sell him for around £5M - not ideal but a fair compromise by all sides. Only hope we use funds to buy a decent CM in return.
