Given that we would have to agree to any individual transfer anyway wouldn't this be pretty meaningless rather than unenforceable?
-
Maybe they need to look elsewhere now and don't want to waste money on the RK tracksuits they've splashed out on?
-
The jack schit item, and Adam Blackmore comment, ring true to me. It also ties in with something I had at the back of my mind which was odd. When RK was asked about the first Everton offer, at the last pre match press conference I think, he said "not happening" but his tone/body language was pretty unusual. More like "Everton? You are kidding right. I'm a great manager and there is no way I would even consider moving there."

I'd much prefer his brother Rickie.
-
How could we have forced him to sign or go now, other than on garden leave, as he had a contract with us for another year?
-
Hoddle sounds like a great choice - if we can't agree terms maybe Paul Sturrock would be available

Not even but at least more even. Several teams have grounds loads bigger than ours and get more sponsorship. With TV money going - share pretty fairly - going through the roof this makes less difference. Say we had half the non tv income of Spurs (say), if tv income goes up significantly we might have 90% of their income rather than 70%. (The figures are made up - I'm sure you get the point) I remember it made quite a difference when home gate money stopped being shared in the early 80s for similar reasons - less Kevin Keegans and more Glenn cockerills.

More TV money means much more even playing field Players who want to improve come to us Players motivated only by money can leave We are great at identifying new talent We have shown we are robust to change at all levels We have fantastic owners We have a stable business model Leicester have shattered the glass ceiling (after we put a big crack in it)

I vaguely recall cortese had a word with him (after his own exit) and persuaded him not to leave mid season - may have got that wrong but my guess is the two quotes are before and after that chat.

Don't think anyone has done three seasons since Chris Nichol.

If one improvement could be made to the ground

Better beer I went to see a harlequins match a couple of months ago - could believe the choice and quality of ale at the ground. If they can do it... -
Thanks - doesn't seem to cover the scenario in which the club in question wins the Europa but doesn't qualify otherwise but presumably we should infer that there would only be 2 places in that case. So we need to cheer on United and Sevilla?
-
Are we sure that's good enough, if Liverpool are 8th but qualify by winning the Europa cup?
-
If city go through to the champions league semi - does that mean our game with them moves date?

West Tip won the grand national. Mark Wright broke his leg. Saints just missed out on a trip to Wembley, after extra time, yet again.

Very odd Ref definitely gives the goal. Didn't see Lino immediately but I noticed tadic run all the way over to him - taking several seconds - and the flag was only raised after that. Did the 4th official call it? The Lino did remain in position tho. That isn't normal after a goal is given is it? Maybe he had a chat with the ref? But shouldn't he have put his flag up and then discussed it??

They look our best bet

It could be down to the manager (Ian branfoot brings to mind) but in this case it pretty clearly isn't.

Mods - can we make this a poll?

Debut goals for Saints on debut appearance.

Best forum response ever? -
When was the last time we lost by three goals or more away? Seems years ago. I may be forgetting something but all the recent biggish defeats have been at home.

French national anthem to be played before Saturday's game

Well said. Nice show of support. -
What I meant was, a five year contract might well be like a three year contract if a player does well. But it's is very much like a five year contract if he does badly. I 'forecast' that we will have some poor signings in years to come - hopefully not too many tho.
