Professional footballers spend most of their working time at the training ground which for Tottenham is near the junction of the M25 and the A10 and a mile away from where my parents (and I) used to live. A lot of the players live further out in Hertfordshire or Essex. It can take an hour to get into central London from there, just as it does from Winchester.
