  1. officialsaints Saints FC Over 24,000 tickets sold for tomorrow's match against Brighton, and still a steady stream of people queuing at the ticket office #saintsfc 4 hours ago
  2. All the players that have scored against P*rtsm*uth! Channon; Moran; Shipperley; Magilton; Pahars; Crouch; Phillips; Blackstock; Lambert and any that I've missed.
  3. No he wasn't, Fonte and Davis were.
  4. Lol! I left about a minute before the final whistle and said at the time, it's the first time I've left early when we were WINNING 4-1. We just got pi*sed off at everyone else going down the gangways so we couldn't see anything and gave up trying.
  5. Difficult this. Nobody really stood out and nobody was terrible. At a push I'd say it's between Chappers and Lallana and because he buried his chance and Lallana didn't, I'll go for Chappers. A special mention to Holmes, even though he wasn't on long. As one of his biggest critics, I thought that he was excellent.
  6. Sounds to me that he is being given 6 weeks or so to prove his worth to the squad. He has been impressive at times but is injury prone. If he can sort that out, then he has got to be a better option than Wotton. If, come January he hasn't taken that chance, he'll be replaced/moved on.
  7. Fixtures for next season coming out on Monday.
  8. Would have thought JR was the opposite of what this thread is about. Used to get out on the field despite being nearly crippled by his knee injuries, in the same way Ledley King does for Spuds.
  9. For the older ones of us, Charlie George and Perry Groves
  10. Can't agree with that. Ormerod never got the goals in the Prem that he did in the third tier but got a fair few and was a decent player in a pretty decent Saints team. Saw him take Liverpool's defence apart at Anfield Dec 03. Scored the vital goal at Villa Park and nearly (bar a world class save) did the same in the Cup Final.
  11. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Lobb
  12. Nah, the first one was, the second one he definitely meant, probably because the keeper was so sh!t on the first effort.
  13. Joined on 4th October, so presumably his month is up at Midnight on Wednesday.
  14. I'd try Jordan Sibley in the first instance. He's head of communications. jsibley@saintsfc.co.uk
  15. I don't remember them doing anything special for the centenary but did make the nearest home league game (v Everton) the official centenary match. Would have thought that the Peterborough game will be similar (if you can compare Peterborough in the third tier to Everton in the first, that is).
  16. From where he took over, after Wilkins disastrous caretaker job? Hell yes. From last season? Not really but he has improved us defensively. Going forward, we have still not addressed our lack of pace, Last season, even though they were criticised by many, Antonio and Waigo made a massive difference to the team. Until there is a change of/addition to personnel, that is unlikely to change, whoever the manager is.
  17. Yup, had enough of that the first 10 games of JP's reign (before the team lost all its confidence).
  18. They were 5 games ago. Let's hope we can do the same to Brighton in the next 5.
  19. At 17, a player of his size and physique needs to start a few, be on the bench for a few and sit out a few. Overplay him while he is still growing and developing and he will have all sorts of problems with injuries in the future a la Michael Owen.
  20. Couldn't see a report on the OS (surprise, surprise!!) This on the Arsenal one http://www.arsenal.com/match-menu/3311413/youth/southampton-yth-v-arsenal-yth?tab=report Trouble is being in the third tier, if we produce excellent youngsters, we'll not be able to keep hold of them. Prem teams will come and cherry pick them.
  21. Not impressed. Hull v Rovers the final game on Sunday evening. We usually go to Magic Weekend (2 at Cardiff, 2 at Edinburgh) but doubt we'll bother this time because it's not Bank Holiday weekend this year, so the nipper will have school on the Monday morning.
  22. Apparently, we (the public) will be "surprised" by Baloo's consortium's plans when they take over! May be they will have a p!ss pot?? I was offered cheap tickets to go to the KC today to witness their demise but as we all know they'll get out of it, yet again, I politely declined.
  23. Terrible first half but showed a bit of fight in the second. The 2nd Try, finished by Widdop was class!!
  24. Easily Maradona. Cheating barsteward but what a player!! Platini next followed by possibly Michael Laudrup.
  25. England Team for the 4 nations match v New Zealand, which unusually is live on the Beeb tomorrow (8am): Widdop (Melbourne); Goulding (Wigan), Shenton (Castleford), Atkins (Warrington), Briscoe (Hull); Brown (Huddersfield), Sam Tomkins (Wigan); Fielden (Wigan), Roby (St Helens), Graham (St Helens, capt), Ellis (Wests Tigers), Burgess (South Sydney), O'Loughlin (Wigan). Subs: Robinson (Huddersfield), Griffin (Huddersfield), W******d (Warrington), Joel Tomkins (Wigan). Will miss Pea****, Wellens, Pryce and Morley but still a decent team. Thought Widdop might have been dropped after the Maori game with Sam Tomkins dropping to Full Back.
