Gordon Taylor is a proper wonker, isn't he?
"But we oppose the scrapping of the football creditors rule.
It is necessary to stop clubs achieving success by promising wages and transfer fees which they are then unable to pay."
Mmmmm!!!!
There is also the possibility that we have agreed in principle to sign players X, Y and/or Z but their clubs will only release them if they manage to sign their targeted replacements. Remember, there is another 5 weeks before the transfer window closes. so there is a chance that some or all of our targets will not be signed prior to that.
Like it's always had that affect. If we get 100 points with the sash, I reckon we should keep it because we will have actually found a lucky kit (for once).
Remember as a kid being heart broken when Roberts left and thinking we'd never be able to replace him. MM joined us as a youngster not that long after his Barbados debut and became an all-time great and still, to this day (even though he was not a great deal older than me) my all-time sporting hero.
Lump your money on Wigan for Friday night, Chris. Hull will be struggling to field a team. Already without Long, Fitzgibbon and O'Meley, Tickle's out suspended after the mass brawl against Rovers and Whiting and Calderwood have been ruled out for the rest of the season.
God Save the Queen is such a dirge!! It is also the 'national' anthem of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, not England. Wales and Scotland have their own anthem, so why shouldn't England? My choice would either be Jerusalem (if adopting an existing song) or do what Australia and New Zealand did and commission some of the Nation's greatest composers and song writers to come up with completely new anthem, something celebrating our history but relevant to the 21st century.
Not really a surprise, after the run they've been on. They should have negotiated his release as soon as he became England manager IMO. Nice guy though, stood next to him at an under 8's game in Hull, a few weeks ago. His son was playing.
