  1. As long as the cupboard is somewhere near, like New Zealand for example.
  2. The good news is that because no one expects us to get anything the manager will play a really attacking line up, go out all guns blazing and at least provide some decent entertainment on the day.
  3. Wouldn't have changed any minds on the manager but a win's a win and we're still in the cup. Job done as far as I'm concerned.
  4. Wasn't it the players who were the main reason he got the boot? I don't think they would have been any different after so many dull goalless games. My stance would have been the same albeit grateful that we got the cup. A dull manager is a dull manager though.
  5. How any self respecting player can enjoy this guy is hard to believe, I don't think Lemina is in that camp but then he looks more like a winner. At best the players probably think he's a nice guy but not up to the job. No player should ever be happy about relegation ever.
  6. Bizarre mentality, everything seen through a fearful negative lens. Not sure how true this article is but judging what we see on the pitch I wouldn't be surprised. What manager doesn't like winning? Ours apparently. Surprised he has the courage to get out of bed in the morning.

    GAO OUT!!!

HMS SFC has lost its rudder and is drifting towards the lower leagues. The captain has locked himself up in his cabin and refuses to speak to anyone, the 1st+2nd officers are frozen in indecision, the leading rating just repeats the same incorrect orders and the crew is mutinous. We need a cultural revolution but chairman Gao doesn't look remotely interested. Derbies with the blue few in 1 to 2 seasons? Who would have thought that 2 years ago?
  8. He's a terrible manager, the worst Saints manager in my lifetime (40 years of support) but scarily he's probably the least of our problems as he can be removed pretty easily when the powers that be bother to actually manage things. No, the bigger issue is that the whole club seems to be rotting from the inside with no leadership whatsoever. The owner stays in China and doesn't seem to give a monkeys whilst the house burns - and he cannot be sacked. Confusion and despondency has seeped all the way down to the players and fans. It really looks like a sharp downwards trajectory just like the blue few down the road unless the owner gets a grip and starts managing. However the signs so far are not good atall. Kat has sold us down the river on this one. Shame as she did such a good job when she was incharge.
  9. Last week gave us a much needed bit of hope that maybe there was a bit of fight there to be deflated again after this. Never expected us to win but that was a capitulation. 1 up front till the 70th minute mark. The manager has learnt absolutely nothing this season. 2004/5 was a bit like this, performances that gave encouragement rapidly followed by capitulation. I'm crossing my fingers that we pull out of this and sack the manager in the summer. However I have serious doubts this owner will attempt to improve anything and we may be in the same situation this time next year.
  10. Just play the way we did against West Brom with attacking intent. We'll win some and lose some but I think it will be enough ultimately to steer us clear of relegation. That's got to be the main objective now.
  11. Thought he looked decent, got in good positions and made himself available which is exactly what we need. A good example mot mentioned on here was Stepehen's second goal, had that header not gone in Carillo was lurking around the far post and may have converted it. I think that unless he turns out to be a goal machine I'd rotate with Charlie to give Charlie's legs a rest. Charlie Austin is still our no 1 goalscorer - when fit. However if he turns out to be a goal machine then the position is his.
  12. Massive massive win, great performance and well deserved, we didn't fluke that. Just goes to show that we have the players if our idiot of a manager actually picks them and lets them play. It's incredible that we are where we are. I'm wondering if the players are pretty much ignoring the manager's gibberish instructions and just going for it?? Wouldn't blame them if they did. Lemina should be the first name on the sheet, a complete general and when he's in the team we instantly improve. Play him in every game from now on you dolt. Carillo didn't have too many chances but just by being a proper CF he provided a focal point and gave the West Brom defence something to worry about, give him the service and I suspect he'll get you some goals. Long on the other hand is stealing a forward place, he was given just about as gilded a chance as he's ever going to get and he missed it. To think he's been consistently picked above Charlie and Gabbi goes a long way to explaining why we are where we are. Play like this till the end of the season and we'll be clear of relegation but will the manager actually pick the best players??
  13. I've given him as many pelters as anyone else on here and I love the baking analogy but in his defence and for balance... He has handled himself well and with dignity whilst taking a mountain of abuse. He comes across as a nice guy and seems to get on with others at the club. He was employed by Reed - it's Reed's responsibility to remove him, not his. He has to go though. It's so far beyond a joke now it's become a farce. When he goes I'll wish him the best, it was a very bad fit but in all honesty it's Reed that has to take a good look at himself on this one. His intransigence has every chance of relegating us.
  14. Vinny Jones and Terry Hurlock as his assistants? That would be enough to get the player's attentions.
  15. Realised he was totally out of his depth in October and would have pulled the trigger in November. Had the club done the same and appointed a decent attacking manager I see no reason why we couldn't be 7th now. He has destroyed all our attacking instincts and crushed our self belief. The worry is that even if a new guy were to come in it would take time to get our mojo back and we are running out of time.
  16. I'd like 2 up front maybe Guido and Long but we all know he'll stick 1 up front (no goals Long) and go balls out for the goalless draw. West Brom will smell our capitulation and come at us, they'll huff and puff and eventually score. He'll put on a 2nd striker with 2 minutes to go and claim we won the possession stats and are showing continual improvement. He's pathologically wedded to defence, literally cannot envisage actually going for another team's throat. Oh, and he won't be removed. All aboard the kamikaze express, choo choo......
  17. Been following SFC since Lawrie Mac and he's the worst. Worse than Wigley, Gray, Portaloo and What?, Redkanpp etc and even the dreaded Branfoot. Infact he's so bad I'm starting to wonder if this is some kind of malicious act to get him sacked and off with the loot. It's beyond bad and it's going to relegate us. His selections are utterly mad, 1 up front at home to BHA and the 1 is a player that never scores. Guaranteed no goals, mental stuff. Meanwhile we have a load of attacking players on the bench. More mental stuff. I'm really starting to wonder about the guy's motives - no one is that bad.
  18. No regrets atall, he was a dull manager (with one or 2 exceptions) and I personally wasn't bothered to see him go. Was it 6 home games without a goal? Didn't blame the board for giving him the boot. However I will give you he's a world beater compared to the current incumbent if that's what you're fishing for. Doesn't mean I want Puel though.
  19. Well I believe we're stuck with him so all we can do is enjoy our ride on the kamikaze express. I'm sure the vast majority of fans would like to get more behind the team but they've got to do their bit and play some entertaining football. This soul sapping stuff that has been on display for the last couple of seasons now is enough to suck the life out of anyone. It's supposed to be entertainment, anyone told him that?
  20. I thought it was done on a Monday lunchtime? Not an easy draw, WBA looked good against Pool and look to have their tails up.
  21. Brighton are limited but well organised and determined, they aren't going down without a big fight, quite right. Can't see us breaking them down very easily. Feels like a 0-0 or 1-1 draw to me and MP remains. Kamikaze stuff.
  22. Good win and great to be in the cup despite the manager's utter negativity. It was a half baked Watford team - not Barcelona - but MP yet again shut up shop and invited pressure that didn't previously exist. Relegation is a coin toss with this guy in charge, he has absolutely no idea about seizing the initiative.
  23. He needs lots of crosses and plenty of shots\balls into the area. He looks fine in the air and pretty efficient in converting any easy chances in the 6 yard area. Dump the negativity MP and tell the players to give him the support he needs - if you do I think he'll get enough goals.
  24. Looks like he's got a new career......
  25. That guy had so much talent and p*ssed it all up the wall. Could have been a great at SFC if his head wasn't so screwed up.
