Not sure what the fuss is, he was just a head of department and easily replaceable, and if the rumour is to be believed he nearly got the chop around December. I'm sure he would have kept that in mind once Spurs got in touch with him. I don't mind that he didn't speak English - never really warmed to the guy in the same way as with Adkins. He did pretty well overall but still can't believe how he failed to beat Sunderland or Spurs. I think that sums up how I feel about the guy, and I expect the Spurs supporters agree to a large extent. Their recent history suggests he won't last long.

I misread the thread title as "J-Rod to buy Spurs," which IMO is just as likely at this point in time.

Lambert ' desperate' to join west ham
stardustonmyfeet replied to The Majestic Channon's topic in The Saints
It was all go until BFS tried to make Rickie change his agent. Then Kevin Nolan started pestering him about it, left him a hundred voicemail messages and after that Rickie got cold feet. -
The real reason that we sacrificed the cups...
stardustonmyfeet replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Saints
"Apparently to be more famous, it's better to win the cup. ... I think they know me enough, so I would prefer to stay in the Premier League." If you're going to quote him from yesterday, why not mention the bit where he says he doesn't give a **** as long as he doesn't get relegated? -
Our match of the season is next Saturday
stardustonmyfeet replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Not even thinking about Wembley just yet, this will be our fourth attempt to beat Sunderland this season. As good as things have been, I will be frustrated as hell if we fail yet again. They're under threat of relegation and have one eye on another cup. The players will be aware of that, and so should Pochettino. -
Is Avram Grant your contact?

I will laugh at the irony if Lambert's
stardustonmyfeet replied to Barry Sanchez's topic in General Sports
Is Lambert really under threat at Villa? They must be a lot further ahead on points than they were last season at this stage, so it's a bit like saying Pochettino's due for the chop because we're no longer in the CL places right now. Other than that, not sure how it relates to Saints. -
In the first book he describes a bemusing incident in the closing stages of a derby match, where the supporters of the losing side chose to hold onto the ball rather than return it for the throw-in. Maybe I'm biased because I've read enough to assume that the vast majority is written by Kitson but I instantly thought back to our 2011-2012 derby matches in the Championship.

Unless I am mistaken, doesn't the map in the OP merely show the areas that receive flood warnings when a flood is imminent? It's in a flood risk zone as you might expect for the area but the EA isn't necessarily expecting a flood there According to the link below (via clicking on the purple sections) it only suggests that Bursledon Boat Yards will be at risk. http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/homeandleisure/floods/34681.aspx?area=065WAC151&page=1&type=Fwacode

You sign Whittingham, we sign Pochettino....
stardustonmyfeet replied to Saint Mikey's topic in The Saints
This is news to me... in English and Spanish I've only ever heard the latter. This could spark another never-ending debate like the Font/Fontay issue. -

I do like to keep an eye out for them in the Takeover thread, but it is getting a bit ridiculous singing about Pompey, they are so far away down the drain it would be better to just forget about them - it just brings us down to their level otherwise. I do love a bit of schadenfreude but I don't think we should allow them the honour of name-checking them in our songs. I was having a look at the FA Cup first round draw earlier today and when I saw them on the list I was almost surprised to see they were still in it. -
Nobody pays him to write any of that ****, therefore it doesn't count

yeah he had a major bee in his bonnet about it, right up until the end of the season when we dared to beat them at the Withdean. Afterwards he said something like "history will show that Brighton were the winners of league one in 2011". Alas, he was proven wrong within months, when a number of articles blindly assumed that we had won the division instead.

I feel like i'm overdosing on sugar. Can anyone find a really critical article that completely trashes us and says we'll run out of steam before Christmas and finish bottom half?

Why do you think Lambert gets classed as a "big lump"?
stardustonmyfeet replied to norwaysaint's topic in The Saints
I think people used to describe Crouch in the same sort of way, even after he had left. -
it's only fair of them to upload the games if they're not going to release a dvd. We've had some great years in the lower leagues.
-
I thought it's obvious that all the players have learnt to speak spanish, sometimes you can see Poncho talking to them during the game with no interpreter in sight.
-
None of you remember our early exits from the lesser cups in our time with Adkins then? I recall defeats to Leeds, Palace and possibly Swindon off the top of my head. We still dealt with them in the league home and away.

The gold look might have made sense if our rumoured sponsorship with Lotus went ahead... but whatever, it does not show up well on TV or photos. As a result the kit has a discreet minimalist look and gives it a significant advantage over kits that have been spoiled by sponsors' logos. It's growing on me. Still looks a bit weird especially when paired with the red shorts, but it's something.

Poncho-teeny? Come back Atkins, all is forgiven.
