  1. I used to agree with you, but then I realised that all our successful recent academy graduates joined between 1998 and 2003. That suggests that we're enjoying the success from foundations laid by the likes of Prost and Henderson, and all of the staff from that era have since moved on. It won't be until another five seasons or so that we'll see if our current set-up have truly built on that, although I will be astonished if they haven't. Perhaps it could be said that although he failed to sell the club in his tenure, Rupert Lowe really did quite a lot to make this club an incredibly attractive proposition many years down the line, and history will treat him with far more respect than we've afforded him in the last ten years.
  2. Thanks for uploading Vince, I've not seen that anywhere before. Likewise, http://www.thecoachingmanual.com - how the **** have I not heard of this before, considering all the social media the official website churns out?!
  3. Just introduce a knockout competition between the top 16 in the premier league (or 32 including championship teams to make up the numbers) and hold it in the summer. Don't interfere with the league competition.
  4. I always knew he was a ****, look at this picture of him getting cosy with a skate! LET'S BURN HIM! Am I doing it right?
  5. Don't let simple minds convince you that your dreams are too big.
  6. Corrected it for you. It was quite refreshing to see Pochettino and Koeman being respectful post-match, but actions speak louder than words and it is a little sad how Poch sneaked his way out of here. Also, surely he must have known our fans weren't singing to him out of respect in the way we did for Adkins.
  7. I haven't heard much about the 'background check' for a very long time. I think they stopped trumpeting it from the rooftops around the time we had trouble with Jason Puncheon. We knew he wasn't settling at other clubs but we brought him in anyway. He turned out ok but players like Forren and Taider (less than three) must have been signed on their youtube reputation rather than any knowledge of their attitudes.
  8. If the OP needs more than one, I'd be happy to take this one, my email's ne2742@gmail.com
  9. IFHP, Is this still available? I can let you know my email if it is. Thanks!
  10. If you could drop me a line at ne2742@gmail.com that would be great... I'm local in London so was very disappointed to miss out! Cheers Nick
  11. I don't remember us having won any honours of note at youth level this century, apart from narrowly losing the FA youth cup final featuring Walcott, Dyer, Bale, Best and McGoldrick. But I doubt the average Ipswich supporter wonders 'what might have been' had they held on to the core of their golden generation (ahem) that year. Clearly results don't mean very much at that stage. Unless we go three years or so without any talent coming through, I don't think there's any cause for concern.
  12. It is staggering to see how fed up Branfoot is after that goal. How could a manager be so upset about one of his own players scoring such a beautiful goal? It would be hard to think of any other example of such a situation happening. When even the opposition fans applaud such a genius, it's little wonder everybody hated him.
  13. Anyone got a link to the highlights of the game? Couldn't find them on youtube. Sounds like the winning goal was a great one too.
  14. Umbrella has been stuck in my head for ages now because of Pelle, has to be done!
  15. Yes I hear Nicola is working miracles at AC Milan.
  16. http://instagram.com/hugoscheckter looks like it from here, well spotted
  17. Any relation to Jody by any chance?
  18. I think what Captain Subtext is trying to tell us in this situation, is that despite our sides being 7th and 8th in the league last year, Southampton are a Small Club who have no idea about how to keep their players fit and healthy. Man Utd are a Big Club with fitness experts who will prescribe lots of laps running around the training ground, and nutritionists who will make Luke eat more veg and fewer chips. Once Man Utd crawl into the Champions League places, Van Gaal will take all the credit for making the most of an average player from an average club. And if it doesn't happen, no problem, blame the chosen scapegoat David Moyes again.
  19. He said that we're light years away from being premier league. Thought I misheard at first
  20. If it's anything like £15 on the gate as was the case yesterday, I'll be there... guess that would be unlikely though.
  21. His body language suggested he was a bit embarrassed... even if it nearly resulted in a goal
  22. Tickets can still be purchased online and collected at St Mary's. For anyone who misses out, tickets will also be available from The Den ahead of the match, which kicks off at 7.45pm. Read more at http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/2482014-last-chance-for-millwall-tickets-1863762.aspx#e2OeouJP2t5AdZ1r.99 http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/2482014-last-chance-for-millwall-tickets-1863762.aspx I'm in London already so if I do go I'll be paying when I get there. As it's league cup it's hardly going to be a sell-out isn't it?
  23. Ever heard of the expression NSFW?
  24. That's nothing to do with Adidas - someone on here said the players' kits were altered to fit by someone from the local area
