  1. Forgive me for being a thick shyte - but can somebody please explain what this thread is all about, it has gone right over me. Or is it just a cheap 'points scoring', 'I told you so', 'I was right' thread...? Sorry - totally confused.
  2. Exactly - he even had the balls to tell the skates how f ucked up their own club was, laying it clearly on the line that their football infrastructure was a complete bag of shyte. One of the few BBC pundits who doesn't tow any party lines - I like him.
  3. I take it the Dog has been on the waccybaccy again.
  4. T'would appear Billy ain't particularly happy at Forest right now - probably ticks quite a few of 'the boxes' on NC wanted list.
  5. I don't think that his point is really about who is the bigger club - it's more to do with deserving. You can point to the old days all you like, wallow in the glory years of 'little club done good', bu at some point you are going to have to face reality - we are not longer mixing it with the big boys. We are where we are on merit. Wake up, smell the coffee, wack off the rose tints and get with the program - we get promoted when we deserve it, when we earn it - not because 30 years ago we used to scare the shyte out of some of the top boys every now and again. If you don't like what's currently happening at the club I suggest you leave it to those fans who understand that getting the hell out of League 1 is going to be a hard task and not some sort of foregone formality - perhaps one of them would be kind enough to give you a call once we have our rightful place back in the Premiership, and you can start to support again.
  6. We aren't on the board, we are the bank, minted, loadsamoney.....!!!!!
  7. This. And just to throw another log in the fire, I still do not think that we will get promoted this season. However, I think we will do ok and I'm just going to enjoy the season for what it is. Low expectations to some perhaps, realistic expectations to others - but they are mine. Been supporting since circa 1968 ish...!
  8. So let me get this straight - we have signed two Harlee Deans - great news, was only expecting one other signing before the window closes.
  9. You are, of course, entitled to your opinion. All it does is make me very very glad that I no longer serve and no longer get deployed to operational areas. On the flip side it makes me absolutely gutted for those men and woman who are currently at the sharp end doing their utmost to ensure that we remain a free and democratic society.

    Antonio??

Andy I think that developing loan players is pretty much part of any loan deal. Most clubs loaning players will do so with the express wish that those players are given game time in which to develop - that is the name of the game unfortunately. The loaning club is hoping to get back a better and more experienced player than they loaned out. This is the case with Antonio.
  11. One hopes that your comment is borne out of pure ignorance, as you do many service and ex service personnel a huge disservice. Your forefathers fought in 2 world wars making extreme sacrifices in order that you live in the way in which you do today. You should be forever in their debt. The work and foundations of freedom that they laid is now taken up by our present armed forces personnel who work to ensure that our shores remain a secure place to live. You may indeed at times have occasion to benifit from the expertise of our excellent nurses, you may never in your life meet a soldier, however the soldier that you never meet is the one working daily to ensure that you stay secure in your country.
  12. GB is pure quality at the moment - wonder how much he is currently worth - how much did we flog him for..???
  13. Perspective people, perspective. FFS!
  14. Indeed you are, congratulations Mack - what price West Ham in the next round eh....??? !!!
  15. I understand your point - but if we are going to score 6 then I would prefer six 1 - 0 wins and settle for the points.
  16. Ohhhh the country, sorry, right...!
  17. You really are a perv....!
  18. Me too, hate the pre, mid and end as well on this forum...!
  19. If you had a similar complaint with any other company, or shopping outlet for example, would your first recourse be to stand in the middle of the shop, ensure you had an audience and then shout the odds about your complaint. Or would you perhaps politely and discretly ask to speak to the manager personally - just a thought.
  20. EXACTLY, this is the crux of the matter. How they can fail to acknowledge this is, to be frank, quite dispicable. Yes, both of our clubs went into administration - but any other similarities stop there. We acknowledged the problem immediately and put into place measures designed to reduce our debt. They on the other hand decided to (hide) ignore the debt, continue to trade normally (although probably insolvently) and subsequently run up inordinate levels of debt, which the 'small man' now has to take the hit on (again). How they can fail to understand the massive difference between these two scenarios is beyond me.
  21. I sort of admire your 'two fingers in the air' attitude towards everybody (probably just one finger for us - but hey ho - the feeling is mutual). The thing is though, if you actually read and analyse the last ten words of your post you might, just might, understand why so many think that you have got away with daylight robbery. I can honestly say that had our club behaved in the same manner as yours has then the stench would be too much for me - and I would have probably just walked away. I actually wish you all the best - but to feel any sort of satisfaction about how you came to be in your current position, frankly shows a complete lack of any class whatsoever. You are obviously a much better outfit than we are, your league position is testiment to that, you have won loads of trohphies - loads more than us, yet I feel very, very happy to support a club that is languishing below you. Damn strange that.
  22. But to be fair he maketh a very very good point. Owed 200k by Cardiff and no sign of the 'cheque in the post', I'd be somewhat peed off if I found out that they had loaned a player who probably earns that in a month. It is exactley the sort of deal the the Blue Few were allowed to get away with on a much larger scale - there is no difference to what they did. It is amazing that the FL are taking no action - especially given Cardiffs recent history with the tax man. But at the end of the day - after the saga down the road, it appears that you can more or less do as you please when running a club these days. There are no ethics.
  23. You are of course correct in that some of the people who died on 7/7 were not British, which sort of conflicts with your point about 9/11 not being an attack against this country. Those people who perpetrated the 7/7 attack did so with the express intention of killing British people. It is also interesting though that Bush, from the very outset claimed that 9/11 as an attack on Western Europe. At the end of the day, the British soldier (serviceman) is nothing more than a pawn to the politicians and their politics. It only remains for said soldier to decide whether or not that is a noble enough cause to conduct 'the job'.
  24. Ahhhhh good old MACP TDD, or Military Aid to the Civil Powers to the likes of me and you, but often overlooked by civilians. It is in the contract mate - always read the small print, it's there somewhere.
  25. I agree, it would indeed be fact - but I doubt in my lifetime I will ever see the day when, what, 10 - 20,000 servicemen and women decide 'not to go'. It would be an interesting concept - to have no Armed Forces whatsoever and rely on the good nature of the rest of the modern world to just leave us in peace. But not a gamble I would really like to take!
