It's actually quite strange in that a lot of the people that I work with come from all over the United Kingdom and I quite regualary 'talk football' with them. Yet not one has actually mentioned this action by The Sun - it would appear that not that many people actually care...!
-
Lets be honest, good or bad, The Sun has probably afforded us many more inches because of this ban than they ever would have without it. Personally I tend to liken this 'spat' to 2 children fighting over one toy and really couldn't give a toss either way to be frank.

Shyte Wes - you've almost cheered me up tonight. Glad to see somebody who can take the positives from a bad situation, so we are still alive and kickin' eh.
-
I note that you rarely post, perhaps you should keep it so.
-
Indeed - it is rarely dull supporting this fooball club..!

Statement from Nicola Cortese essential now.....
Micky replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
The problem is that a statement would probably be to the effect that '...we continue our search for a new management team...' and little more. We already know that - it would do nothing to aleviate anyones concerns right now. Our concerns will only deminish once the new manager is unvielled - dependant, of course, on who that may be...! -
My how things change. We ended last year on a high, just missing out on the play offs, but still had a great day out at Wembley - the mood was good and the expectations were high. Roll forward 4 months and how things have changed. What was meant to be 'our' year, the year in which we celebrate 125 years of this great club is slowly turning from outrageously optimistic to a total nightmare. With the sad passing of Markus still fresh in the mind, we have made a slow start in the league, the management team are sacked, and the one trophy that we have managed to win in some years is, tonight, ripped from our grasp in front of a meagre crowd at SMS. So, what are your expectations now - is this really turning into the Annus Horribilus that we all dread, or will we turn this one around and find the promised land of the CCC?
-
Never thought we would make promotion with Pardew, now he's gone I think we will probably be further away still.

Oh dear, horse, stable door, bolted - and all that....

Which managers will you hang around for...????

So now NC wants us to defend JPT, indeed fully focused on the it
Micky replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
He could of taken the 'we don't give a stuff about the JPT competition even though 60 odd thousand fans made the trip to Wembley last season to see us win it' line. Frankly I'm pretty glad he took the line he did. -
Forgive me for being a thick shyte - but can somebody please explain what this thread is all about, it has gone right over me. Or is it just a cheap 'points scoring', 'I told you so', 'I was right' thread...? Sorry - totally confused.
-
Exactly - he even had the balls to tell the skates how f ucked up their own club was, laying it clearly on the line that their football infrastructure was a complete bag of shyte. One of the few BBC pundits who doesn't tow any party lines - I like him.

I take it the Dog has been on the waccybaccy again.

T'would appear Billy ain't particularly happy at Forest right now - probably ticks quite a few of 'the boxes' on NC wanted list.

I don't think that his point is really about who is the bigger club - it's more to do with deserving. You can point to the old days all you like, wallow in the glory years of 'little club done good', bu at some point you are going to have to face reality - we are not longer mixing it with the big boys. We are where we are on merit. Wake up, smell the coffee, wack off the rose tints and get with the program - we get promoted when we deserve it, when we earn it - not because 30 years ago we used to scare the shyte out of some of the top boys every now and again. If you don't like what's currently happening at the club I suggest you leave it to those fans who understand that getting the hell out of League 1 is going to be a hard task and not some sort of foregone formality - perhaps one of them would be kind enough to give you a call once we have our rightful place back in the Premiership, and you can start to support again.
-
We aren't on the board, we are the bank, minted, loadsamoney.....!!!!!
-
This. And just to throw another log in the fire, I still do not think that we will get promoted this season. However, I think we will do ok and I'm just going to enjoy the season for what it is. Low expectations to some perhaps, realistic expectations to others - but they are mine. Been supporting since circa 1968 ish...!
-
So let me get this straight - we have signed two Harlee Deans - great news, was only expecting one other signing before the window closes.
-
You are, of course, entitled to your opinion. All it does is make me very very glad that I no longer serve and no longer get deployed to operational areas. On the flip side it makes me absolutely gutted for those men and woman who are currently at the sharp end doing their utmost to ensure that we remain a free and democratic society.

Andy I think that developing loan players is pretty much part of any loan deal. Most clubs loaning players will do so with the express wish that those players are given game time in which to develop - that is the name of the game unfortunately. The loaning club is hoping to get back a better and more experienced player than they loaned out. This is the case with Antonio.

One hopes that your comment is borne out of pure ignorance, as you do many service and ex service personnel a huge disservice. Your forefathers fought in 2 world wars making extreme sacrifices in order that you live in the way in which you do today. You should be forever in their debt. The work and foundations of freedom that they laid is now taken up by our present armed forces personnel who work to ensure that our shores remain a secure place to live. You may indeed at times have occasion to benifit from the expertise of our excellent nurses, you may never in your life meet a soldier, however the soldier that you never meet is the one working daily to ensure that you stay secure in your country.

GB is pure quality at the moment - wonder how much he is currently worth - how much did we flog him for..???
