  1. Stelling was just trying, over the din, the explain that potentially, any new player would be playing in front of 30,000 a week, great setup, and trying to correct them by saying they (we) do have cash to spend whereas the likes of Merson, McInally were saying they'd rather join QPR if they had the choice between the teams. McInally was arguing that we won't ever attract anyone of significance (er, Ramirez?) because we won't be in Europe etc... Stelling was trying to explain we've only just been promoted and I think, was trying to say there is potential. One of them, not sure whether it was Merson or McInally said something sarcastically about "Jeff, I know it's your second favourite club" or something along those lines... It was just ill-informed dross from McInally but as Jeff's got his finger on the pulse a bit more being a local, he was trying to correct them.. but they weren't really having any of it. Nae mind.
  2. Fair play to Stelling in that little debate. Walsh and Cottee also fairly diplomatic and reasoned. Unsurprisingly, ex Villa players McInally and Merson talked sh1te.
  3. Tell foreskin face to do one, Cortese.
  4. I'd recommend, if you get the chance, to have a look at Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik. If he was on our radar, he's the type of domineering centre-half that we might need. That said, Astori is quality too, different type of CB though.
  5. Won't be long before he's talking about Shaw and Schneiderlin in press conferences... Well, he's already mentioned Schneiderlin, but I'm sure he'll mention him again.
  6. The whole Reading owner fiasco will end in tears... and I won't be surprised if the Cherries come rattling the buckets again in the not too distant future...
  7. It has, but it's also been the formation that's seen us also drop a multitude of points. Whether that would have happened in another formation, no-one knows. Irrespective, I'd keep the formation as after a bedding in period, it looks like we've adapted to it. Gaston shouldn't be stuck out left though... definitely should have him central
  8. Fingers doubled crossed!!!
  9. I've let the whole Boruc issue ride for months but now it is grating with me. He is a very good, international class keeper and he simply has to be play. We can afford no more experiments (Gazzaniga) or back-to-the-future selections (Davis). We've already seen us drop points because of goalkeeping foul-up's and it'll be f()cking grating if that's a huge contributory factor to being relegated. This situation isn't a difficult one to work out... play the best man for the job and that's Boruc. It's not a head scratcher and it doesn't warrant multiple pages IMO. Our fans have been superb this year but they need to get over the whole bottle-throwing incident and stop lamenting our own players, especially on their home debut.
  10. Why a Southampton football club forum though? Lolz.
  11. Did we just get 4channed? Lolz
  12. nothing seedy to see here;
  13. Insert your own quote....
  14. I prefer escape goats.
  15. I'd rather we played our best line up... I think if we played the Stoke lineup, we'd be Reading'd
  16. It's this kind of stupidity that does my head in... and it's hardly isolated on here.
  17. So being booed and jeered by your own fans on your home debut had nothing to do with his reaction? Our fans can be awesome, especially away, but at home, we're sometimes right ****s. Boruc was regarded as one of the best in the world, he should be given an opportunity with us.
  18. He's from the Neil Allen school of investigative journalism
  19. Sums up the City of Stoke, in a way... (no offence VFTT, though I know you don't live there anyway!)
  20. I think Guly's been on there books before, they won't fall for that one
  21. Theo was awesome, incredible. I suspect we'll see Welbeck and Sturridge ahead of him for England though, obviously.
  22. Last time we went away and "had" to win, we did. Lambert will have them fired up for this one so... and hard works beats talent if talent doesn't work hard, so we have to match them. Make no mistake though, they're a f()cking terrible outfit.
  23. Btw, should have got Mark Bunn in the summer...
  24. He's not a Premier League keeper, it's simple. We've got someone who was once touted as one of the world's best goalkeepers sitting on the bench. Use him, ffs.
