  1. This is a common problem when you've been in the Premier League... you rarely acknowledge life outside it. We did for a couple of seasons after relegation, too. Long may that ignorance continue.
  2. Uh, cheers! I think I must be regurgitating old news then?
  3. One of my much fabled ITK contacts told me this morning that we'd put in a significant double bid in to Burnley for two of their players. I've just seen, on here, someone has already mentioned Danny Fox... so, is it true? I guess we'll find out soon enough.
  4. Ah haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ITK!!!!
  5. This. Whinge whinge whinge. It's pretty sad.
  6. As I have posted umpteen times, Lallana is a Premier League class footballer. Not a Stoke, Wigan or Fulham class footballer either - A Spurs, Arsenal class footballer. People can tell me to take my "rose-tinted specs off" but I believe those who know a bit about football probably think the same too. Yes, he's only really done it in League One. Yet before Bale moved and stepped up as an international-class footballer, he had only one season in the NPC. And anyone who saw Bale graduate and perform in the Saints team should have noticed immediately that he already had the maturity and technique of a top Premier League footballer. World class technique, pace, great crosser and a set piece specialist. Lallana, yes, has only done it in League One (so far). But I defy anyone to tell me that there is a better, more creative young English footballer outside the top flight or, Jack Wilshere aside, in the Premier League. We are so very, very, very lucky to have him but I fear people will only realise just what an incredible player he is when he's gone. We have a player who, for all Leicester and West Ham's big-money purchases, they don't have. We have a player that is incomparable in terms of quality to anyone at else in the Championship. And it was hilarious as it was frustrating to see Lallana left out of the U21's for players like Mancienne, Henderson, Cleverley and Muamba. Really, Pearce? Really? No wonder we were so flat. That said, his omission is probably going to work in our favour considerably. And that is the reason why we must not stagnate and be "content" with a mid-table finish. As I've also said a million times before, if the height of our ambition is to establish ourselves in the NPC as opposed to a promotion push, then we can kiss goodbye to Fonte, Lallana, Oxo and any other of our best players come the end of the season. It's going to be a nailbiting season, but I think we're really in the middle of something good...
  7. Leeds are a good side however - and this is the important part - we stopped them from playing.
  8. TDD... I have a question for you; Could Jordan Henderson have done what Lallana did today - or for what it's worth, the past two seasons? This is exactly why he should have been in the U21's Glad he wasn't now though... haha
  9. Just perused several Leeds forums... I have not found one comment about how good we were - it's all about how poor they were. In a way, I'm glad they haven't really twigged. Ah well, long may that attitude continue against all our opponents
  10. Eventually, Lallana's true class will be realised. Part of me is glad, the other part of me is sad as I don't want anyone else to know just how good he is! (and he is feckin good)
  11. Incredible workrate and desire. If we back 'em, they'll respond.
  12. Yes. Another 300 or so at Boro... massive club. ROFL.
  13. Are you sure? The front cover of the programme really threatened to seriously destabilise the club.
  14. Yarp. That's my original point a few pages back. He's not doing it as a serious gesture; he's showing that he has a sense of humour. But that won't stop the knickers-in-a-twist brigade and their sensitive egos.
  15. That was irritating. I counted the "fathers gun" song four times in the first 12 minutes! However, I definitely think it was appropriate to be sung towards the end of the game, if only to serve as a reminder.
  16. You dirty f1shf()ck1ing inbred thieving sh1tc()nts, we're coming for you.
  17. Paul Chuckle from this board just text, Gorkss is a done deal.
  18. Have we crossed swords over much, I cannot recall? If anything, I think we used to chat and share the same viewpoints quite frequently? TY, btw... Like I said, I seem to like many more people on this board than I've ever thought... though I always seem to forget people I shouldn't have ...
  19. If people think he's publicity hungry and egotistical, I think the evidence would suggest he isn't. Rarely does interviews and is hardly in the national press. One programme cover doesn't really make him a loon, tbf. If anything, it's quite funny, a sort of response to the "Don Cortese" theme. He's not stupid, he knows people probably reference it...
  20. Feck, feck... I forgot you too! OK, I like a lot of posters on here. Contrary to popular belief, there are many people who are reasoned and whom I could probably share a blackcurrant cordial with. adriansfc is one whom I sadly forgot. Saint Sausage was definitely a master of the rofl.
  21. Cheers GM, was tryin to find the cached version...
  22. I understand that some people will see it as inappropriate and that the players should be featured, not the chairman but to me it's only a bit of harmless fun. That said, I'm sure a few people wont "get it" and will probably react negatively to him from now in. Most likely the sizeable cacker contingent.
  23. I absolutely agree. And I'm sure that they'll pop their heads above the precipice again in the future, as soon as the club is in a bit of trouble and they've got something to moan about...
