Maybe it's because he's not English but a Liverpudlian!

Alex Ferguson!

I was replying to the point of him being “highly regarded in the game “. Wouldn’t have thought someone highly regarded would be out of work for 2 years!
-
And yet unemployed for about 2 years.

It shouldn't matter what sex the officials are.

Do you think Phillips would be a better starter than those 3? Not for me. Phillips bores the pants off me and in one game I think he only played 4 or 5 forward passes all match. As for the argument that if a manager picks a player then he must be better than the rest, Have people seen over the years how many very good/great players who have got very few if any international caps. Steve Bruce springs to mind.
-
I can only remember him having one good game and, that was the one where almost no one else played very well. Did hardly a thing in the final.

Not sure why you've quoted me and replied with the above but I'll reply anyway. We should be getting upset at certain chants but I didn't hear any chants towards England players (that I could understand) in the Hungary game but, if there was, as been reported, then action needs to be taken against them. Same with the Final. I didn't read any of the abuse made against our players so can't comment on that. What I would say though is most of the players use social media and probably boast about how many followers they have. They probably ravel about all the lovely comments they get then moan like hell when they get some bad comments. They shouldn't get racial or homophobic abuse but, they do and does that needs action taken.

Point 1, Well it is a team game so they should be together but, what if a players was pick for England but didn't want to "take a knee" ? Do you think he should or shouldn't be picked and what if that player was black? Plus everyone seems to have forgotten this season "taking a knee" was meant to be about all discrimination not just racism! Point 2, It's only being talked about more by football fans on media like this. I've not once talked to anybody about kneeling other than other than on places like this. We've been talking about racism for many years and we will still be talking about it for many more, with or without kneeling. No one seems to be bothered about black players raising a fist while kneeling which as far as I can remember is black power not equality. I personally am not angry, upset or annoyed (no one should be) by players "taking a knee" as it's not hurting anyone but, lets not kid ourselves it's going to end anything or that there are no players that don't want to do it either!
-
If we're relying on kneeling to get rid of discrimination against one let alone multiple things, we are in for a very long wait!
-
I don't care one way or another about the knee. After all they wear Respect on the captains armband (don't know if it's still on the players shirts) and we all know and see how much they respect the officials (which I think it's meant to be about) during a match. One thing that I don't like is the raising of a fist during the kneeing.

Don't think he played golf with the rest of the squad either so can't be injured and must be leaving then! 🤔
-
I disagree with Phillips. I don't think he offered anything in any game apart from the first game. Or was that in a warm up game before? I can't recall anything he did in the final that helped England and nothing that a few english DM couldn't have! As for Ings, he hasn't done anything wrong by running his contract down if that's what he wanted to do. Clubs use players and players use clubs, that's just the way it goes. I would be more angry if he signed a new contract then wanted to leave before it ended!

Say's it all when for me Pickford was probably England's MOTM!

I really like the away sash kit and would be more than happy to keep it and have more often than the "Keegan variant". If there is a change I'd be just as happy to have stripes. The sash could easily become the kit everyone knows as our style of kit.

Don't think it matters what keeper we get. Our "goal keeper" coach will soon make them shit!

UAFA and sense aren't two things I'd normally put together!

Protest against the owners who have spent the most on players in then league for the team they support. Our owners must be one of the luckiest ! If there's no reason for the protest then surely it can't be a protest!

Does anyone know the exact reason for the protest?

That's worrying!

Racist abuse on social media after team loses
saintquin replied to East Kent Saint's topic in The Saints
You're not the only one. Can't remember hearing any at St Marys. Like you, I'm not saying it doesn't exist but you'd have thought if it was widely racist one of us would have. I personally don't get too upset at abuse giving to me especially by people who don't make themselves known or who don't know me. I'm quite happy about myself and have accepted the faults I have but, I think some who get upset very easily are possibly a little insecure. I'm not saying that makes it's ok to abuse people. People who go on social media just expecting to be idolised and glorified are living on cloud cuckoo land as there's always some twat waiting to abuse someone to make themselves feel big in their own little world! -
One of my favourite Saints kits!

I watched Phillips fairly closely these Internationals (Leeds fan mate I know saying how good he is) and I really can't see what he does that nearly every prem players couldn't!
-
I can't think of a more neutral ground than Wembley. I know what you mean though but, another reason for using Wembley is more fans can attend!
