Dune thinks fans should be let out at the same time and they would all merrily shake hands and swap scarves or the away fans keeping quiet and going home unnoticed. In reality this is madness. I used to walk up past the away car park most home games and i remember in the championship big groups of Cardiff and Bristol City grouping together looking for a bit of trouble. Last season Swindon fans grouped together and walked back up Britannia Road singing anti Saints songs and there are numerous other occasions. This would be 100 times worse with Pompey, with not only them "mobbing up" but as many Saints also doing the same. Britannia Road would be a battle field.

newsdesk@dailyecho.co.uk This is the adress for the echo new editor. I think we should mail him asking him to run a story of equvilent size to the ones with these lads names and addresses explaining why they were aquited and slamming the police for wasting public money arresting and bringing to trial five people when there was zero evidence against them. They were quick enough to praise them and critise those that were sent down. Although headlines of "Saints fans cleared of anywrong doing" "police waste taxpayers money in pointless trial" and "fans forum question police tactics as fans with no evidence against them are aquitted" are probably not the message they want people to read.

Like the guy who was aquitted last week when the only evidence against him was being on camera talking on his phone 15 feet away, even the conviction hungry Echo said that. how the f*** did that even warrant being arrested? That could have been anyone that was anywhere near the incident. Utter joke and a total waste of time. I really think in cases like this where there is no evidence whatsoever then the accused should be compensated. These guys have missed out on the JPT final and been banned from football for six months or so, plus all the stress just because they happened to be there. Its disgusting.
-
What was the lesser charge? More good news. Is that everyone that went to trial cleared now?
-
he was in court months ago and got a fine and a ban i think.
-
that is pretty spot on mate.
-
glad to see a bit of common sense at last. Just out of interest does this mean they have now all been aquitted or are there any left?
-
of course they haven't, it's an embarassment for them given the public hangings that they think these guys deserve.

seeems a bit strange why he hasn't been snapped up, only 21 and a good record, played for England all the way up to u20 level. Although a bit of a midget at 5ft 5!

I dont get the whole thing with Milner, how is he worth £25m? I just dont see what he contributes, he is a competent player but that is about it. I've always been a fan of Carrick but he's never really been given a chance at international level. I think he is great at keeping the ball which is really important at international level and plays the role of sitting infront of the back four really well.

I said exactly this after the world cup. the FA should forget about the Euros and build a team for 2014 with players like Wilshire, Rodwell, Johnson, etc a squad of 20 decent players who will be in their prime in 2014. Get rid of the likes of Lampard who has never performed for England and build for the future. If we qualify for Euros it's a bonus but put the team under no pressure to do so. It'll never happen though as the FA would lose too much money by us not qualifying which means we will limp from one disaster to the next. Euro 2012, if we qualify, will be as bad as the world cup and given we will have no whipping boys, we wont get out of the group stage.

yeah he you're right, got injured in training, just had a look on google, he is going to be our main central midfielder for years to come if he can stay clear if injuries.
-
It's interesting too note that most of the England players need two or three touches before deciding what too do with the ball, whereas the French players know immediately, plenty of movement, good first touches, then looking to move it on, Englands play is so slow and ponderous in comparison.
-
at least they didn't get Boggis. Nicknamed bang 'em up Boggis, although i think he may have retired now. Fingers crossed for those tomorrow.
-
Why didn't he pick Wilshire? He is quality. Also i like Cahill at Bolton, decent centre half, would give him a go and Smalling must be worth a punt, only played a few times for Man U but good prospect. Rodwell at Everton is a class young player too but only just back from injury.
-
excellent, finally a bit of common sense. How many more are there too go?

The entirely speculative 'replacements for Puncheon' thread
Turkish replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
The same people that think Chaplow is a wide midfielder are the ones that during the summer thought Harding could play centre midfield and Lambert should play for England. -

That lad Malouda playing for France tonight looks decent, who does he play for? I think he would be worth a bid. -

FFS people need to move on. -
Why do we need trialists? we are loaded, we can just go and buy who we want FFS.

no you're right, international football is not the pinacle of a players of career, playing for Saints is. -
What do you all you royalist traditionalists make of them living in sin before their wedding? If you want it that way surely she should be a virgin on her wedding day and still living with her parents. If she is wearing white is scandelous.

Another one missing the point of the thread. Fans slagged off Oakley, Ormerod and Davies when they were here, yes they were good enough, but at the time most fans thought they weren't FFS!! -
what? You mean pretending they are Serge from Kasabian?
