In hindsight our support on the championship was pretty cretinous as well, despite rose tinted glasses making many believe it was very good. There was a phase in the championship Where a group of divs going dressed in red Lyrca gimp suits. I definitely remember seeing them at Peterborough and Blackpool away. At middlesborough away they had gone for a cheeky yellow and blue number but of course that day they were overshadowed by the clowns in clown suits. One of these "characters" was shown on the verge of tears on the TV in the closing minutes when we were 1-2 down. That image was the source of untold grief from opposition fans to me about how embarrassing our fans were for months. I also remember seeing road cone hats on several occasions and a bloke in his 60s dressed as an elf.

The biggest surprise is that people are still talking about it. The atmosphere has been slowly getting worse for the last 10 years. Its because football grounds had their heyday in the 70s and 80s and now its a different sort of crowd that goes to football. It's now full of utter cretins and soccer AM style banter boys trying hard to be hilarious. The "Mars bar on his head" catastrophe has been coming for a while and was the final nail in the coffin for our fan base I'm afraid. The warning signs have been there, from "look like a wotsit" through to "small town in villa" in our league one and championship days should have served as a warning that things were only going to get worse once premier league fans reared their ugly heads back inside SMS and so it has proven to be. I'm just glad our signing sections our split into two as you can only imagine the helmetry of they were all in one place as they all try to outdo each other with their wackiness.

Can I be the first to say if we were to sign Chamberlain it would be a real statement of intent.

The wrong player at the wrong time for the wrong reasons. Only one person has his finger prints all over this signing and it was another case of Corteses ego running away with him I'm afraid. He wanted to prove that he could mix with the big boys and make a big signing. Ramirez was that man and unfortunately for him was seduced by the money, remember his quote when he joined "they pay me so much money" as well as a promise that we'd build a team round him. He needed to play in a team which dominated possession, had quick mobile strikers to be effective and when he joined us that wasn't what we were or had. Once Adkins had one and Pochetino came in there was only one way his career was heading at St Mary's, he was never going to suit Pochetino and although he showed glimpses of promise he was never going to be able to adapt to the high energy game MP wanted. A shame really as by all accounts he's a nice fella and a very talented lad just signed by a chairman trying to put himself on the map with little regard for how he might actually fit into the side he was meant to play in.

But don't you remember that villa game?

Too busy taking selfies

You're also one of those who spends a fair amount of any away trip taking selfies and uploading them to social media so your opinion is irrelevant

I agree, not a handball and not a pen. Although it struck his arm if his arm hadn't been there or would have hit his stomach. Good defending actually but Mane should score

Friction between Koeman and some of the players according to The MoS
Turkish replied to Bewildered's topic in The Saints
That's what people said about Schniderlin and he's hardly nailed on for a starting place. Apart from anything else if Mane is upset because Koeman hasn't been very nice to him, which will no doubt be due to his poor performances for months, then how is he going to be able to cope with the pressure of playing at Old Trafford? Interesting how the players supposedly upset by Koemans approach are the ones who have all underachieved this season, which perhaps says more about their fragile mentality than Koemans management style. The very top players have a confidence in themselves and are able to perform when they need to regardless of if the manager is nice to them or not. -
Ha ha ha ha ha!! I hate Newcastle, hopefully we can pipe on th misery next week and give them their usual thumping when they come to us.

So to summarise as players get older they lose a bit of pace.

Hang on a minute I'm confused. Are we meant to hate homophobia, sexism, gender segregation racism because that's disgusting and has no place in a modern Britian. Or are we supposed to hate gays, treat women as second class citizens, welcome segregation, hate anyone who doesn't believe what we do because immigration is a great thing and that's what their culture is so we should make them feel welcome and embrace their culture. Its not easy being a leftie I can see why they're offended all the time when you're not sure what you should think. -
They hilariously call us Celhampton :lol::lol::lol:

Lotus were in negation to sponsor us when Cortese was here but he messed it up and we ended up practically giving the sponsorship to Aap3. Despite all the claims at the time that we wanted to work with local business it was all nonsense to cover up the fact when it came to selling the club to attract sponsors Cortese couldn't close a door. He was great at spending money though.

Yet in the next breadth are slamming people for on here at every opportunity for the slightest suggestion of homophobia, racism and sexism, which are all openly encouraged in the Koran. It really is odd that they will stop at nothing to protect a religion which supports the things they claim to be against themselves. -
Very good performance. How much better do we look without the so called superstars like Rooney, Cole, Gerrard. Still a few weak areas mainly centre back, Henderson should not be there but we looked a good side tonight.

"That would also make you look like less of a thick ****" said the person who's immediately resorting to abuse and swearing such is their desperation to defend their position. You couldn't make it up. -

Surely we can dismiss this article as left wing, Muslim loving clap trap whilst giving the source a hilarious nickname such as the muffington post. This what happens when any article negative towards Muslims in the "daily fail" is right wing, racist, Muslim hating clap trap? -

Good point Timmy. If every English person was like you we'd be a nation full of wet lettuces with chips on our shoulder.
